As I try to conjure up the words to say about how unprofessional they are. We were told that we would have my husband's ashes back in 2-3 weeks. Well here we are, tomorrow it will be 5 weeks since they came to pick him up! When I questioned where his ashes were they said at the crematory but someone there has been sick for the past couple of days. My gosh does the crematory only have one employee????? I'm actually being very nice writing this review, especially when I'm so upset and pissed off. Let me tell you I jumped the gun on this review! Clovis Funeral Chapel absolutely 100% made it right. It was the crematoriums fault that they use (d). The crematorium does have ONLY one employee and one machine. Clovis Funeral Chapel was extremely dissatisfied with the service that the crematorium and how they fell behind, that's why it took so long. Clovis Funeral Chapel gave me a partial refund because they genuinely felt horrible about this whole situation. I'm so thrilled that they got my husbands ashes to me today. My family has used Clovis Funeral Chapel 4 times. Once in 87 for my grandmother. In 08 for my mother, 09 for my father and 2014 for my Mother in law. Loretta was always so kind and helpful, and the services were beautiful. She apparently has retired, and the Oseguera are the new owners pf the Clovis Funeral Chapel. . Such kind people. This January I had to get in touch with them needing another death certificate for my MIL and a permit, as my father in law sadly recently passed away. Ms Oseguera helped me with what I needed. They even waived the charge for the death certificate and were so kind and helpful. Mr Oseguera, her father, has been in the funeral business for many years, as they have another funeral home down south as well. It is family owned with that personal touch that is so needed during emotional times such as the death of a loved one. His daughter, who helped me, is so knowledgeable as well! Thank you so much. I lost my mom and if that wasn't hard enough. I lived out of State and made several call only to be told I will call you right back. The call back Never came. My husband was visiting in Clovis so I had him call and he was also told they would call him right back. Again the call Never came. So he went to the Cemetery who told us they couldn't do anything till th CLovis Funeral Chapel contacted them. Mind you my parents paid for everything in 2018 and made all their decision on what they wanted to make it easy on me. Once they made contact with the cemetery they were given 3 dates for me to pick from. I picked my date and they were to notify the cemetery. We go to View my mom and she is on a slab and not dressed. I asked why and was asked did you bring her clothes? I told them her clothes were shipped with her. So they went in the back and found them. And told me they would have her dressed and in the casket on Thursday by 2:00, and I can see her at that time. We go for our appointment at the cemetery a couple days later only to find out that the day I picked was not available, in fact the other two days I was given were not even the days the cemetery gave them. I had already had the program made. I broke down. The Clovis cemetery did magic to make it work for us. So the icing on this cake, I get a call asking me what casket I wanted. I told them my mom picked out her own. And they said they couldn't find her file. They had my Dads and I told them I'm sure it's like his but in a different color. She gave me colors to pick from. I would never use them. My moms obituary was not ever put on their web site. In fact no one was listed. On the day of the service the men who brought my Mom out were very caring and wanting to please our needs. I just don't know if they worked for Clovis Cemetery or Clovis Funeral Chapel. read more

I had some very important things that needed to be handled, and I can honestly say that Jacob is one of the most genuine person I've met. I came into this process with no idea how it worked and I just said, "Jacob, I have no idea what to even ask you right now, but I need some help," and he took about 40 minutes of time to help me through this difficult time. Jacob was also told that we wouldn't have any answers about the deceased for a week and a half, and he refused to accept that answer, and he was able to get my father's body released within 24 hours. Not only that, the guy knows his stuff. If you're new to the process, come to Clovis Funeral Chapel and ask for Jacob and I promise you, you'll feel listened to, and not only that, he goes to work immediately in ensuring this process is as smooth for us as possible. I don't just recommend that you go to Clovis Funeral Chapel, I implore you do do it. Out of all the ones I spoke to, this location was a no brainer. We used Clovis Funeral Chapel for my uncle's services. Though things were going good, I couldn't help but realize the white, tall, overweight employee asleep in the main office. During the visitation there at the chapel, I had a question, and went to the office and found that guy snoring. Like literally snoring. LOUD. I woke him up, got my answers, and walked back. My family utilized this Chapel to handle services of their son who unexpectedly passed. I was shocked beyond belief when a request to play music was denied in the rudest manner by the heavy set gentleman. During the viewing the Chapel was extremely hot and when asked to adjust the temperature I was told that it was at its lowest setting. These guys were extremely insensitive to their guest's feelings. One of them even tried to control where we parked at the church. It just blows me away knowing that they deal with these types of situations everyday and still choose to treat people this way. Our family was very disappointed to say the least with the service we received from Clovis Funeral Home. Our dad passed away 4/29/2021 at UCSF. Our mom had made pre funeral arrangements a few years back. My dad was cremated, but we had asked the Funeral home if we could have a private viewing and we were told they would let us know, well 2 weeks passed before we were told we could have a viewing, this was after calling them repeated times, requesting the viewing, every time we called they asked again what was his name and when did he pass, the office was very unorganized with files piled up the the desk, they couldn't locate his file. after 2weeks we were told they would try to make our dad look presentable for viewing, at that point we decided not to have the viewing since it had been too long and we didn't want our last goodbye with him not looking like himself since his body was not embalmed. When we finally got a date for the service, we informed our family and friends about the date. my mom had pre paid for cremation, transport to church, including an organist, transport to cementary, and for a cross, including all full military honors. We purchased an Urn and took it to the funeral home. One hour prior to the church service, the funeral home called us to let us know our dad's ashes did not fit in the urn, at this point they asked if we wanted to cancel the service or just contnue with the mass. We were so upset, why did they wait till one hour before service to put his ashes in the urn. We went ahead with the service since we had a lot of guests at the church. There was NO MUSIC and NO CROSS during the mass. When we arrived at the cementary, the Military Honor Guard was there and they did a Great job honoring our dad. Needless to say, we had to go purchase another Urn, and 2 weeks later went back to the cementrar where the funeral home met us so they could put all of my dad's ashes in the urn, this was very upsetting for us all, especially our mother who did tell the funeral person that she was very upset and disappointed and she felt like she was going thru all the motions of putting her husband to rest All over again. We got a verbal apology from the funeral home. But this should not have happened at all especially at a time of Grief. We will never do business with Clovis Funeral Chapel again. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. We felt this place is very unorganized and unprofessional, I could go on and with with our disappointing experience but I know for a fact that our mom and our family will not be dealing with Clovis Funeral Home again. read more

My family used to receive good service from Lorretta (Owner). Not anymore!! Her children should be ashamed of themselves that they don't help their mother. All she has for help is this very Large man who reeks of cigarettes who sits out front of the Funeral Home and smokes freely. I drove up to the funeral home and he stood up and flick his cigarette onto the front porch entrance. His smell was so unbearable that after we sat down, he walked behind and by us to get to his office all we could smell was cigarette smoke lingered. My sister left and took the kids. Lorretta is 86yrs old and in a decrepit health state of mind and body. She easily seems distracted and makes a lot of excuses. I honestly, comtemplated on going to another funeral home but my Parents always appreciated Lorretta. So much so, they had pre-paid her for their funerals. So, I stayed. Then she could not find my Mother's prepaid funeral and did not know where the paperwork was? She never found it and I feel she had to eat the costs. Because she knew my Mother and remembered her paying with my father who is now deceased. It breaks my heart and I feel sorry that she can barely walk and is completely hunched over so bad from practically her waist down. She has to look up at you because she cannot stand up. She is very sweet and has the most loving demeanor, but he funeral was ridiculous. It was a flaming discomfortable during the funeral due to the air not working, needed repair or something? The very large man said they were working on it and are waiting for someone to come fix it. What good that did us! We were miserable. Family and friends started leaving and I quote, they would rather stand outside in the 103 degree temp than stay another moment in that place. The smell was atrocious inside putrid and rank. After the service, I approached the only employee she seems to have Jason or Jacob. I asked him where her children were and why aren't they helping her? He said they don't work her and never had only when she is desperate. So to her children!! SHAME on YOU for not hiring a real professional to help her or Sell to someone who can. I will never have any reason to return to this funeral home since my parents are gone and I have told everyone I know how sad that this funeral home is now and strongly advise not to go there anymore. Sorry Loretta but I had to speak my mind and the only reason I did not sue was because of you and you only. I give this chapel 5 stars. During a very difficult time , we lost my grandma. My father and I were on the hunt for a chapel to do her services viewing and cremation. My grandmother had no policy. So we had to come out of pocket all costs. Clovis funeral chapel was very considerate and gave my father and myself a deal we couldn't turn down. We felt a heavy weight had been lifted off our shoulders. We received a book for the family of everyone who attended, remembrance cards, we got our own priest, my grandma looked beautiful, they allowed us to set up everything how we wanted, and they also allowed us to stay as long as we needed. 2 weeks ago I had a very close cousin pass away and the service here was horrible. They did an ugly job and the way they left was my cousin wasn't good! Then turning off the air conditioner on us knowing that my cousin was still there and having a smell and leaving him there in that fucken heat for him to start melting from his face! You guys are going to pay for what you put this family thru. You guys are races! You guys did my cousin wrong and left him there over night in the heat! It did not look like my cousin at all! We have used Clovis Funeral Chapel three times over the past several years. Every time they were very helpful, considerate and super easy to work with. They always have had the best prices and we walk away feeling very grateful instead of feeling as if we just had gotten violated. They are an old school funeral home which we prefer. When having to set up all the arrangements while dealing with the loss of a loved one I personally don't want to be nickled & dimmed to death over a lot of extras. There might not be any pockets in heaven but some places think they can charge you a fortune at the gate. Loretta at Clovis funeral has the kindest eyes and even though she sees grief on a minute by minute basis, she has such compassion for the loved ones left behind and she realizes that most of the time no one has the funds to pay for the arrangements. It was a sad experience. The casket was dirty, smudge marks the size of half dollars on the inside lid of the casket, by my mother head. People coming in and asking for death certificate and information, simply because the funeral home didn't place a sign stating there was a private viewing. No flowers no anything. The viewing area was dirty as was the very old worn carpet. The office staff was noisy and kept coming in the viewing area looking around. Honestly it was sad. read more

Having a horrible experience with this place. Where should I begin? From them telling me the hospital "can't find" my father's body, then they won't release the body due to lack of paperwork. Which the hospital denies. Still have no death certificate. Keep getting told no one will sign it. Called my father's doctor who said she would sign it but was told everything was taken care of. Only to find out today my father will be taken back to the coroner's because the death certificate wasn't signed and paperwork lost. The casket my dad was in had a stain on the part that hangs out of the casket for viewing. My father's face looked like it was covered with make up that was too light. When I asked about the bill, paperwork wasn't able to be found. And we are going to get billed for everyday they have had my father's body. I could go on but I am so furious right now. About to call the news and also report to BBB. No family should have to go through this. read more

Very disappointed. I normally don't complain about anything, but a funeral or memorial is NOT something that you can re do. I thought I could trust them with everything, since, well they do this everyday. The flowers weren't ordered, so there were NO flowers at the memorial. The boutonnieres were the wrong color, the folders had the wrong information in them even AFTER I emailed and went it to make sure they had received everything, no one showed up to the memorial until 15 minutes before it was supposed to start (that is after I called them 3 times in an hour period wondering where they were, knowing that we were expecting 300+ guests, and when they did show up they left everything on the table and left. When you walk in it's clear that they are unorganized. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, especially in the midst of grief.
