The room we were assigned had clearly been USED prior to our arrival:…read more1. The toilet seat was up, implying that it had been used by a man. 2. There was tobacco dip in the toilet, that never fully flushed away. 3. There were no bath towels. Coincidentally, there was a bundle of towels in the hallway floor, across from our door (10 p.m. at night; we had arrived late) when I went to the front desk to get towels. The front desk lady in the morning tried to explain it away, saying it was in the plumbing. If it was in the plumbing it would have continued. I responded to their survey with my complaint, and received a perfectly worded (clearly AI) canned response asking to give them another chance to make it right. I replied that I would be happy to, for 2 free nights in a king suite, since that is what we paid for expecting a CLEAN UN-USED room. No response back. I fully expect another AI response.

Check-in at night was easy. Staff member was cheerful and helpful! Sorry didn't get her name…read more We were Up early for breakfast. It wasn't busy but not much food was available, sausage cold, and no cinnamon rolls! No more would be made. Those cinnamon rolls are one of key reasons we stayed. Otherwise would've stayed at a different chain. Not sure if food is being rationed ... no one at front desk when we left so can't say anything about them. Room was fine, WiFi fine. Breakfast disappointing.

Getting the venue and communication with the venue is the biggest part of planning your big day and…read moreyou would think that they would make it as stress free as could be. My experience with the Ward Center was anything but, stress-free. It was an unhappy and disheartening experience to say the least. I booked with the Ward Center two years prior to my wedding. The communication in the beginning was good. Then, it fell off. We wanted to schedule a walk through and invite our other vendors to see the Ward Center, so that we could plan out our day. Noelle would not accommodate any of my wishes with trying to make it happen on a day that would meet everyone needs. So, it ended up just being my fiancé and I at our final walk through. At this walk through, two months prior to our wedding, the staff informed us of additional hidden fees totaling to $800+, TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE WEDDING. Noelle was not at this meeting so, I reached out to her after this meeting to share my concerns and she stopped answering my emails and my coordinators emails for a month! I even sent emails with a read receipt and she would read them and intentionally not respond. We were stressed out trying to get answers for a month. I sent an email on June 4th, June 8th, June 15th, June 16th, June 20th, June 26th, and June 28th.. ALL of these emails went unanswered from Noelle. We did not talk to Noelle again until my mother in law called as a "potential client" and Noelle answered and told her to come to the venue for Fridays for the Arts. We went to see Noelle in person at a Friday night for the arts event om July 13th to finally get some answers. We ended up having to come out of pocket for the $800+ in hidden fees that were not mentioned on our contract. Our wedding day was smooth sailing, thanks to Tammy and Karen, but as a Bride, I would not recommend this venue to anyone. They nickel and dimed us for everything. For potential clients, I would advise getting everything in writing, because they are constantly changing prices and policies. One staff member will tell you one thing and then, another will tell you something completely different, so to be on the safe side write everything down. They were unprofessional and poor at communicating everything to us. Noelle asked me to remove my "cruel postings online," but it is my right to share my story with brides like myself.

It is loaded with charm and boasts the perfect mix of laid back cool that my husband and I were searching for. Noelle, their event planner was there for us through every question and concern we had leading up to our big day. We enjoyed that we could incorporate the backdrop of a chic art gallery and still be within our budget to accommodate all of our family and friends. Leading up to the big day The Ward was able to set up our venue before we arrived which saved us valuable time the day of, and allowed us time to enjoy with our loved ones. We held both our wedding ceremony and reception at The Ward and were more than pleased to say that we had the time of our lives! Our guests also enjoyed the venues uniqueness and original beauty. We feel that we couldn't have chosen a better place to promise our lives to one another. If you are into the arts and are looking for the perfect way to express your trendy, or modern/elegant style please chose The Ward Center for Contemporary Arts! You will not regret it! Thanks a thousand times, The Parkers
