Outdoor Hot Tub not working right for months. Indoor Hot Tub only warm at times. Cold Showers today. Floors in the locker room not being swept many days. Showers need cleaned more often. You pay $200 amonth to be able to enjoy all amenities, but heavens forbid if you wanna go swimming in the lap pool to do laps kids and parents are disrespectful cutting you off no regard for people's workouts. They want to get some hard sell person on the phone to answer your query instead of just telling you. Dropped in and was sold on a gym that seemed modern. I thought the price of $21.50 was steep for a drop in but I needed a place to workout. The equipment is archaic and I was told that the sauna and showers were in working order. Neither of those were true and I ended up leaving after about 15 minutes to go to a real gym with working showers and a sauna. I tried to call the club and got forwarded multiple times. Incompetence! How is it that when you call to ask a simple darn question, people at the front desk refuses to answer and try to give you the runaround?! Nobody got time for incompetence! All I wanted to know was if they did month to month contract. It's a yes or no question. This establishment is very nice and clean, but in my experience the staff was not very friendly. I went to become a member with them by signing in at the front, but nobody ever came to help facilitate the rest of the onboarding. The staff present behind the front desk also ignored me. I never ended up becoming a member as it was a poor first impression. Personally (and I understand some people may find this disagreeable) my money will not go to anyone who can't even offer common courtesy. I don't mean to harm anyones livelihood with this review, this is just my experience. In actuality I hope this gets addressed in the future because this may cost the company a large amount of income over time. How many people are unknowingly turned away per day? Multiply that money lost over 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year. Not only that but it is unfortunate that people may not get access to the facility due to a, at best, miscommunication. I'm not sure what people are complaining about. I've been working out here for 2 years and have zero complaints. In fact, it is definitely the best gym in Idaho Falls. I've worked out in gyms all over the world, including the original Golds and World Gyms in Venice, CA. Club Apple is just as good as they are. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not join this gym. It has a lot of potential to be a great place...but for example: the steam room has mold all over the walls constantly. When they do clean it's filled with chemicals for a few days and you can't sit in it. The pools are over facilitated and dirty. The sauna is never hot: I sat in the sauna and cleaning lady (kid) opened the door wide open and continued to clean and let out all of the heat. I asked her politely to shut the door and informed her that she just let out all Of the heat. She did not respond...she did this to me multiple times. The spa is dirty and closed most of the time. The whole gym is very dirty in general. Towels are a promised service but rarely available. They promise a lot but when you try to address an issue they become very defensive and argumentative. It's verbal workout and exhausting. They double charged my family and when I inquired about it they gave me resistance. I tried canceling and there was a misunderstanding. They would not listen and became standoffish. This is just not the professional setting that they promised. read more

DO NOT join this gym. Overpriced like crazy. They won't allow you to wear clothes in the sauna literally. However, they only enforce this rule with some people. A male was working out in the woman's workout area while my wife was in there and when I called about this issue the "manager" or whom every I spoke to was beyond offended and made excuses. I barely give Club Apple a two and that is only because you can work out some of the time. I have left numerous complaints about broken equipment and, what may seem trivial, broken lockers. It takes me 5-6 lockers after testing them first to get one that locks. What is bad is that not one of my complaints have been responded to or acknowledged. Nothing has been done to fix the broken machines or lockers. I have been told only the manager can rectify things and he won't respond. I gather they feel you are locked into a contract so they simply don't care. read more

This is an awesome club. The staff is amazing and offer exceptional customer service. I'm always greeted with smiling faces and a positive attitude. The facility is always clean and well maintained. The equipment is in good condition always. The atmosphere is positive out on the floor. Most of the people seem high class and have a good weight room ethic. It makes working out there much easier. The trainers are all very good at what they do. They give great nutrition advice to go along with specialized workouts. Most important for me is that it's a family friendly place. Great for kids as well. We love being members of the club and will be for a long time. read more

If I would have known a year ago what a hassle and headache this "club" would be, I never would have signed a contact. I was told by Sol it was easy to cancel the auto-renewal membership fee, but to make sure to do it 60 days before it renews. I went in today to cancel and was sent to Melissa. Melissa was unprofessional, sarcastic, and extremely rude. She told me "your excuse with moving, is not a good enough reason to cancel your membership." She made it a nightmare to cancel, got on her phone and starting texting when I was asking her about options, and when I told her I would never come back due to the unprofessional manner in which she and the other staff treat people, I was told, "great." She also said I would continue to be charged until April, she didn't know why and no, she would not look it up to see why- "that it is your responsibility and you should have figured it out previously with Sol." Don't waste your money on this club and their unprofessional staff. There are so many better gyms who have professional staff, don't keep their equipment locked up, and actually have up to date equipment. Also, most of their classes they offer, you have to pay an extra $90-115 month to attend, and that's on top of your monthly membership fee. read more

I was charged a 15 dollar late fee for Apple because my card barely expired. After taking multiple steps to rectify the situation including paying the remaining balance of my account, they wouldn't waive the 15 dollar fee. After paying off my membership and saying I can bring in whatever info from the bank I needed to fix the 15 dollar fee, I wanted them to delete my card so they wouldn't charge for anything else but was told "there is a 20 dollar fee to take the card information out." They continued to say , "card declines happen all the time, but we aren't the department that changes the policies." I then asked for an email confirmation of which payments were authorized during the phone call, and was told "no, it is ridiculous that you would even ask me that." I then said that due to the my friends bad experience with apple I would like some sort of confirmation. They then said, "well we aren't talking about your friends, we are talking about you." I honestly can't believe that they would care so much about money and so little about people. Keep in mind, I had a clean record of payments until the card expired and I called 1 day late. Terrible customer service. I wanted to speak to billing and the young lady who answered the phone refused to transfer me until I told her what it was, "specifically" about with billing. I told her its about my account and that was not a good enough answer for her. I had already given my name and she looked up my membership in the computer. When she finally went to transfer me, the call "dropped." I called back and still the front desk would not transfer me to billing after I gave my name a second time and actually proceeded to antagonize me. It is my business why I call in, I should not have to go into any more detail with the front desk who have nothing to do with membership or billing. I have had a membership here for two years. I had a membership in 2016 and prepaid for one year at a price of approximately $1100. I prepaid the membership because I did not want to deal with the monthly subscription and have the auto renew feature that is impossible to cancel. When I purchased the membership I was told I would not auto renew, otherwise there be no benefit to prepaying an entire year up front. Upon completion of the paid year, I received a call from the billing dept stating I had a $1100 balance that was due for automatic subscription renewal. I was told that if I wanted to cancel I should have done so at least 30 days prior to the subscription auto renewal date. I disputed the charge since I had stopped going, and asked to speak to a manager. I explained the situation to the manager and she hung up on me. I tried calling back and was told the manager had left for the day. I was then placed through to a messaging system where I explained the situation again to the answering machine and asked to be called back. No one called me back. Several months later I receive a collections notice from a bill collector for the full price of a prepaid membership that I have not utilized. At the very best, these types of business practices are UNETHICAL. At the worst they are ILLEGAL since they are attempting to charge me for services that have were never rendered. I look forward to resolving this issue with Apple, maybe in court if it comes to that. The type of businesses that relies on small print and gotcha clause's are a dying breed. No matter the type of business, if this strategy is part of your revenue model, you will soon be out of customers. It's unfortunate because they do have a nice facility. Where do i start. This place sucks. Its a very basic gym thats really, really expensive. Im from chicago and belonged to a extremely nice gym there that was still cheaper than this gym. I joined because at the time it was the only gym with an indoor pool, which i love, so i didnt have much of a choice. Lets go through some things that makes this place suck: 1. The kettlebells are locked up (exceot for 25 and 30 lb ones). Only trainers and their clients can use them. 2. The nice grouo classes are extra. And not just a little extra, like how much they woukd cost on their own extra. Want to do pilated? 90 dollars more a month. Fitwall? 115 dollars more. Other gyms just have you reserve a spot in their soecialty classes. Ive never heard of a gym charging an exorbitant extra amount to take specialty classes. 3. Theres no lap swim during aqua classes. They could easily rope off a lane during these classes but they dont. Again, thats stabdard procedure to have a lap lane during aqua classes. 4. They sell bagels, banana bread, and popcorn at the protein smoothie bar. This is a health club. It makes no sense. 5. They dont have towels for showering. You can pay 50 cents for a towel (per use) or bring your own. Thats ridiculous. This place nickels and dimes and is very mediocre quality. Pick a different gym Please get a membership somewhere else. read more

Recently I was given a free pass from a friend to try out this facility. I am a former resident of Idaho Falls and I am a former member of this health club. I haven't stepped foot in the facility for over 7 years. I was excited to go back and see the new changes and upgrades added. However, I had a very negative experience. I was questioned by 4 different staff members when I presented them with my free trial pass. "Where did you get that? Who gave it to you? How long ago did they give it to you?" Etc. on top of this, a sales director came over and informed the person that gave me the pass that the pass was extremely old and not even valid anymore. He decided he would let me use the gym for this one day but the three day trial pass was not valid for out of town guests and since it was so old, he would only approve one day of use. Terrible way to promote business within a health club. I will not be back and I will not recommend to any family members or friends. Very disappointed in the customer service here read more

more of a recreational pool than lap pool. if you want to swim laps many kids are in the pool, and only one designated lap lane.. and read contract carefully before signing! my mistake. I had requested temporary membership since I would be in Idaho Falls,less than a year. What I understood, was that I needed to give 30 days notice upon termination and what I saw on contract was TEN months AND 30-day notice! In addition there is also a $40 that isn't mentioned that's tacked on to one of the monthly charges for club "update" fees...WTF. never again. read more

Equipment and inclusions are about the only positive thing for the Apple. The staff are so stuck up and rude that I paid extra money just to get out of my contract. This place was pretty great. We got a great deal thru work from the INL and they were extremely accommodating. I used the weights quite a bit but I did wish they had drop weights or a station for that kind of power lifting. And a lot of used their basketball courts and racquetball courts to great extent. If I am ever in the area, this is the gym to go due to its cleanliness and good amount of gym equipment without being crowded. read more

Yoga was especially hard this morning making me especially tired, so I decided to get a latte from Apple's beverage bar. Besides the incredible length of time it took to make my drink, a combination of operator error and machine operation malfunction, the coffee tasted burnt and the milk was super hot, like McDonalds brewed coffee hot! before they had that little lawsuit about their coffee being too freakin hot brought against them. I think I will be sticking with the smoothies from now on and only getting coffee from officially licensed baristas. still my overall review of Apple is four stars, but I needed to warn the future potential tired exercisers about their future need of a caffeine intake in the form of latte. read more

We have been members of this gym for years and love it! The staff is great, group classes are wonderful and the personal trainers are fantastic. It seems like the only people who ever give reviews are those who are unsatisfied with life. For a town of this size it's a gem! read more

I would give them 4 stars. I love that I can go to the gym and work out and relax at the same time but it's very expensive for a just month long membership. My husband and I have a 13 month one which isn't bad but I Went to get a month pass for my 13 year old sister and it was 110 dollars. I felt like this was super expensive knowing she can't even use everything in the gym. I also feel like they could update the ages for the little girls locker room. It's from like 4-16 but I feel like it should be 4-14 as girls get older (or boys) they aren't really wanting to change with a bunch of kids. read more

This gym is sub par. Way over priced for the quality of the facility. When joining i was told i would be able to sign up for sports leagues as an individual and still be put on a team. Not the case. Also my favorite part after a workout is always soaking in the sauna and steam room. Sauna never got hot and never held its heat. They did nothing to fix this problem. Also the steam room would have problems regularly. Finally after moving away from Idaho. Closing my account was quite burdensome. They made me pay for two more months of memebership when I didn't even live in the state. Plus i found the staff to be incompetent and uncaring of my needs. Just a greedy business. I dont recommend to anyone. There is far better services for your money out there. read more

This place sucks, they lie and help themselves to your bank account even after you've cancelled your membership. I have tried for six months to get a refund due to me because they took money out of my account after I cancelled my membership because I moved from the area. They even called me to verify my cancellation. I noticed for months after they kept taking money out of my account and when I went in to ask them about it, it did show I did cancel and my membership was not to be renewed, yet money was still being taken out each month. Obviously I was due a refund! They said they would have to call "cooperate "in Logan UT. I assumed they would call and I would get my refund due to me.....but NOOOO! After a few weeks I called to see what's up and got the runaround about how a check was sent to my old address and I would have to wait to see if it gets forwarded to me or sent back to them. OK I wait a few more weeks and nothing, so I call back and was told they would call "cooperate" but I would have to pay for the stop payment fee on the check they said they sent. I was so angry at this point, first of all my new address was on the letter I gave them when I cancelled and I don't think they ever sent a check in the first place and I don't think they ever called "cooperate" about anything. I have still have not gotten my refund due to me, I probably never will. Whenever I've talked to them all I get is a load of crappy lies from them, they never do what they say they are going to do to rectify this situation. In my book this is lying and stealing!!! It's a shame, I was going to donate my refund to the Animal Shelter when I got it! Like I said this place sucks and they defiantly don't know how to run and honest business and treat people like crap! read more

The facilities are nice, we enjoyed a membership and everything was great up until we tried to cancel 45 days before our membership was up. We were past the 60 day cancellation window in the contract and are stuck with another year of service or responsible to sell our contract to someone else. read more

The contract is very restrictive. We tried to cancel, which requires 60 days, but we called in at 50 days by accident and they signed us up for an extra year + 1 month, and there is no ability to cancel the contract early, even for a fee. They also promised us a month free and we ended up paying for everything. The facilities are nice, but management treatment of discontinuing members lacks. Don't sign up unless you recognize that they will have no leniency or mercy. Our verbal discussion when we signed up said we only wanted a year, but we initialed the auto-renewal because we had to in order to sign up. The verbal agreement means nothing. I recommend looking at ANY of the other fitness centers before you sign their contract. read more

Fantastic club! We have been members for over three years. Our kids have learned to swim there, and I train there three to four days a week. My wife and I trained with Lisa Morton to get ready for a trek to Everest Base Camp, and she did a great job! They are constantly adding new equipment and upgrading our experience. read more

Not the way I'd do business. Don't get me wrong it's a great athletic club. Beautiful facilities. But when it comes to the sales side and contracts. It is a scam. We finished a full year contract in feb of 19 and were hesitant to resign because we knew there was a chance we would be moving... we were assured that they have a clause in the contract that allows for early termination in case of a documented move. Well here we are 4/23 with a documented move and their moving clause in the contract still requires 60% of the remaining 12 month contract (which was renews less than 90 days ago) to be paid. I don't understand the business model and can't support it. The model of "well they're leaving so we don't care if they hate us". Sure we should have read the terms and conditions, but I can't and don't agree with this way of running a business that relies so heavily on referrals and recommendations. read more

I've never gone into the Apple before today and never will again. I've only heard bad things about their policies and employees and today all of those things were proven true. I went in and let the front desk staff know I was swimming with my nephew today at his swimming lessons and they had me fill out a waiver and then had me pay for a day pass. Which I happily did, then my sister in law walked in and asked why I had to pay.. as they have never had to pay to go to the swimming lessons with their children. (I was going today in place of my other sister in law who couldn't get in the water with her son because she has an IV in her arm) the front desk staff told us to speak with the swim instructor about getting a refund so we did and the instructor came back with a card for a free day pass for me and said when the lesson was done to go up to the front desk and they will refund my card. So we had a great lesson the instructor was awesome with the kids and was super sweet. We got back up to the front and I said that our instructor told us to come and get the day pass refunded and the front desk woman (older, short dirty blonde hair) said "yes Katie wants to speak with you regarding the refund" Katie is a sales person I'm assuming, she came up and informed us that there would be no refund and that we were in-fact not allowed to be in the pool at all during the swimming lesson. When my sisters in law signed their kids up, Shannon the swim director told them that if your child is uncomfortable with the instructor you can get in the pool with them. So from the beginning there was false information from the employees. My sister in law told Katie that Shannon had said that to her and Katie just said "no. That's not true. She did not say that." Katie then pulled out the swim contract where it says no one in the pool who hasn't paid which is great and she highlighted it for us and referred back to countless times to make sure we understood the policy. I then said "that's awesome that you have this but your employee told her that she was allowed in the pool because her son was uncomfortable. So that's not our fault. That's your employees miscommunicating information to paying customers. Which means the employee is responsible. If my sister in law should have been paying for a day pass every swim lesson she got in the pool with her son then someone (the swim director, the instructor, front desk) should have told her that. Katie said we should have paid the day pass because I shouldn't have been allowed in the pool otherwise. Then I said "the instructor is the one who told us that you guys would refund the money.. we didn't just come up here demanding a refund.. we were told by an employee of the Apple that you would issue one." Instead of handling it like any manager or someone in a higher position would by saying "I'm so sorry she told you that but she is an employee and we will honor what she said this Jtime and take care of you guys by refunding your money but in the future you will have to pay to be in the pool and we will make sure our employees are informed of the rules to insure this doesn't happen again." Which makes sense and it makes the customer happy and informs them of the rules that were never communicated to us in the first place. Instead Katie said word for word "you guys have clearly never worked in customer service before" and told my sister in law "you just like to argue huh" Katie had left to go call Shannon to discuss the situation and eventually came back and said they would refund the day pass.. she never apologized for the inconvenience or the embarrassment she single handedly caused all three of us. Katie was completely unprofessional from the start. She never once thought about making the customers happy and keeping our business with the Apple. We did nothing wrong but listen to the employees who were clearly giving out false information, that's not our problem that's an issue between management and the employees not knowing their own policies. I hope upper management sees this and has a conversation with Katie about customer service and basic respect. read more

Awful. Called into get a quote and the sales lady tried selling me on all of their amenities. I told her that's great, what's the rates? She kept insisting on getting me in there for a tour. And then she said "it doesn't matter the price because once you see all that we have the cost won't matter." What a bunch of BULL CRAP. I care about the price. So finally I was as blunt with her as I could be and she told me the price. About $60 a month. Needless to say I'm not coming in for a tour haha! read more

I had a frustrating experience today that made my blood boil. I went to the Apple Athletic Club because on the very top of its 'memberships' page, it boasts free memberships to spouses of deployed service members. My meeting got off to a bad start when the 'lovely' woman helping me looked at Kent's orders and said, "Oh, he's a musician? I don't think that job qualify" WHAT?! I informed her that her statement was condescending and offensive. She goes off to check with her manager who comes back to inform me that in order for his deployment to 'count', it needed to be in a combat zone. Apparently, he isn't deployed enough. To someone who is two months into a long separation, this was an emotionally charged slap in the face. We are no less 'military' than anyone else. Go ahead, tell me that my family is sacrificing less, I dare you. I am generally a reasonable person, but the hypocrisy of this policy leaves me fuming. To give you some reference, Idaho Falls is a small town that is about three hours from the nearest military installation. The military presence here is basically nonexistent, so you know that they aren't handing out very many free memberships ESPECIALLY now that they've narrowed down which deployments count. The thing that kills me the most is their 'membership' page. Look how their free military memberships are advertised at the very top. It's all basically lip service aimed at making themselves look good. At least be honest with the stipulations, or are you worried people will see how half-hearted and self promoting your support actually is. read more

DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM. They lock you into an expensive contract and then if you don't cancel two months before the contract ends then they automatically renew your membership for another full contract term - even if you don't want it. Currently a member and am disappointed with what I'm getting for the price. I basically signed up to use their basketball court and it is unavailable to use about 50% of the time. What's worse is that the times it is not available is not consistent from week to week, so I can't know if it is open on a given day unless I blindly make the trip to the club or call ahead. I'm stuck in a year and a half contact, unfortunately, so will have to pay this place until the end of it. Also, they have an automatic renewal policy so that if you forget to cancel your membership at least two months before it expires, you are automatically committed to another year and a half term.
