Club Brava is located in the gorgeous El San Juan Hotel, Isla Verde, Carolina, PR. A large group of us came here on the eve of my cousin's wedding to celebrate his last night with him. We got a VIP table and the bottle girls came with a marquee sign for him. The place has neon signs throughout which are great places for photo ops throughout the night. The music was amazing & we were dancing all night. The bathrooms were clean and the service was quick as we continued to order more bottles throughout the night. Not quite sure if the place serves food, but I would imagine it does not. This is an awesome location if you are looking to experience the nightlife while in PR. Def recommend! read more

Don't go here if you like hip hop. I booked well in advance and asked over and over if hip hop was going to be played. We bought a section and they ignored our request all night to play something for our bride to be. Really hostile vibe and waste of money. Should have went to La Placita instead. A friend and I were in Puerto Rico for a week, and were looking to visit a club one night while there. We settled on Club Brava because it was close to our lodging and had some good reviews. It was definitely a bumping place with great music and some tasty drinks. The music was bangin' a little TOO loud for our old ears, so we had to step outside a few times to catch our breath. It may be for a little bit younger of a crowd, based on the decibel level and the music choices, but if you're on the hunt for a fun nightclub atmosphere, then Club Brava may be a good choice for you! read more

I chose Club Brava to bring in my 50th while vacationing in Puerto Rico earlier this month. It all seemed so promising. I was encouraged by the reasonable VIP pricing and timely responses from "Billy" and "Adam" when making my 3/15 reservation for 15 people; 10 guys and 5 gals. There were 7 of us celebrating March birthdays; 5 guys and 2 gals. We refer to our celebration as "Pisces Bash," and this one was proving to be the biggest, the largest yet! We spent the earlier part of the day doing a casual hike in the El Yunque Rainforest followed by a relaxing stop at Luquillo Beach. That was followed by a fantastic dinner at the Meat Market which is collocated in the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel with Club Brava. When my party and I arrived to the club just after midnight 3/16 - my actual birthday, things went south very quickly. First, I never received guidance from Adam about the strict dress code (two of my friends were denied entry because they were wearing shorts; we saw a woman wearing shorts after entering the club. She also was of a different race than me and my party.) Second, my "table" was very small and only provided seating for five (keep in again that my original group size was 15; 10 men and 5 women), and there was no place for our drinks to rest when we were not drinking them. There was no table. It was more like a booth. Bryana did her best to serve my party but forewarned me that as the night progressed, she was going to be "busy" and may not be immediately available if we needed her right away. To make matters worse, she misspelled "Pisces" on our birthday sign. I became most disheartened when Bryana inquired around 2:30am how much longer I would be staying. Unabashedly, she shared that she was interested in reselling our VIP "table." :( The worst part, perhaps, is when I viewed my receipt after I returned home. I noticed that there was an extra tip in the amount of $176.45 that I did not authorize. It also did not reflect, or was not adjusted for, the deposit in the amount of $262.50 that I made to secure my reservations. To date, I have only received an apology from Adam in the form of a text. I stayed at the Royal Sonesta and was told about this club upon checking in. When you get to the front of the Resort make a left and walk about 1.5 blocks, and the club is inside the San Juan Hotel. For starters, the San Juan Hotel is very nice. You're greeted with upbeat music and a very lively bar with pretty people. To the the right is an enormous Casino. Brava is to the immediate left when you enter. You'll see a single door propped up with a doorman and security. It was $40 for my sister and I. If you're looking for a night club where people dress up and the DJ plays Reggaeton, dance and some EDM I recommended this place. I did notice the club is 2 stories but this night they only had the main floor open. There is a large bar in the back, large dance floor and accents of décor throughout the club that give it a nice vibe. I did notice some sections that were empty that seemed quite nice. There was a large area blocked off with velvet rope with people doing bottle service but tbh, this area was a glamorized dance floor that seemed like a galley.... In all I recommend this club and will probably visit again. read more

Currently on vacation in the PR for a girls trip. We're staying at El San Juan Hotel and after going out in the city we decided to come back to check out Brava. While I understand that clubs have a dress code I'm giving one star due to the inconsistency in which the "rules" are applied. I was turned away due to wearing denim cutoff shorts though I had on a dressy tank and heels which I've worn going out in NYC. However, they let other women wearing white shorts in as well as later a girl wearing denim jeans. I don't think it's fair to have been turned away due to my shorts when other people wearing shorts and a girl in jeans were allowed in. Also the hostess enforcing the rules had sneakers on so...if you're going to be strict maybe adhere to the rules yourself. Please be more consistent with your "rule" application. read more

First of all... THIS CLUB IS A MUST IF YOU'RE STAYING IN PR! Its the nightlife of San Juan and you need to experience it! Upon the walk in I was dancing! Music from all over all era's and the modest modern for the young crowd that flows through there looking for a good time. The venue has two floors and bars on both levels. The cover charge is $20 and they follow a strict classy dress-code. It is located within the San Juan Hotel & Casino; which is a very fancy hotel within itself. The DJ played tunes from way back the good ole' throwbacks of R&B and club even REGGAE! That's what I like! I was not disappointed at all, the ambiance is very captivating and there were no hostilities everyone just having a good time. I wish clubs in New York could be like this EVERY SATURDAY! Came to Brava on a Saturday night. The Mister and I went over around 10 to inquire about the exact dress code and cover, which was button downs for guys and no shorts. The cover is $20. We arrived around midnight and waited in line for about 10 minutes. Based on the reviews, I thought the line would be wrapped around the building and people would be super agitated waiting to get it...totally not the case. The venue is really nice, lots of people on stage dancing and having a good time. We went to the bar twice. The first round (on him) was $30...2 shots of Patron and 2 Medallas. The second round (on me) was $14...2 shots of Patron and 2 Medallas. SWISH!! Must be a perk of being a girl. ;-) OH! And the Patron was served in champagne flutes...FAN-CY! When we first got there the DJ was playing hip-hop music to House beats...that changed about 30-40 minutes after we got there. Both floors were playing hip-hip, both old and new. We moved around quite a bit to get a feel for the club and just to see what was going on. There were SEVERAL bachelorette parties happening, 1 Bride-to-be was even donning a veil bedazzled with penises. Hilarious. I counted 5 poles that could be used for stripping, though the women I saw were mainly using them for some twirly dancing. The V.I.P areas were really cute and spread out on both the first and second floor. With a flight to catch the next day, we only stayed until about 3 and people were still pouring in. The club is located inside the El San Juan hotel. Self Parking in a garage is available and paid on an hourly basis. I paid $9 for about 3 hours give or take. Ladies free before 11pm. I went on a Saturday. Drinks are on the pricy side. $13 plus tax for some Hennessy and lime juice... Bathrooms were ok, Lord knows the ladies room is usually a mess in clubs. The Djs were very good, they played a large variety of music: throwback hip hop, dancehall, local salsa...etc There was something to satisfy every taste to be honest. I also noted people from different age groups in there. The club is really just like any US (think Miami) club, it attracts lots of tourists, but there are also plenty of locals. Security is super tight. They searched the hell out of me and carefully inspected the inside of my tiny clutch. They took away my little plastic rat tail comb because it is pointy... The horror! They must not know what that comb means to us black women LOL how am I supposed to "fix" my hair and get under those tracks when i go to the ladies room? Y'all can't seriously think that comb could be a weapon!! But it is all good, I definitely appreciate the extra security. I came here for a bachelorette party and we all had tons of fun! $20 cover charge and yea there's a dress code but what club doesn't. There are two floors, not sure what kind of music was playing upstairs as I only went up there twice for short periods of time and but the first floor had a VERY good mix of pretty much everything. I LOVE dancing and usually am very particular about club music but whoever the DJ was that night had it down just right. Music ranged from hiphop, to reggaeton, some edm (but not too much) and of course a ton of old school that everyone could get down to. Would definitely recommend this club to whoever's visiting the area! Btw it's located in Hotel El San Juan and you walk a bit to somewhere in the back. I just came from P.R this past Thursday and Friday! I stayed at La Concha resort right in the heart of San Juan and surprisingly the streets were so dead!! Desperate for some entertainment before returning home we headed over to Brava at 1:30 A.M Saturday morning! A $17 cab ride and a $20 admission fee, yes.. even for HOT females, but all in the name of a GRAND time!! Wow! It felt like I was partying in NYC. Excellent music, diverse crowd, all of the party goers were nice and the drinks were cheap!! To be in a different country and still have such a good time with great vibes is just awesome! There are two floors with different music and tons of V.I.P booths! I recommend EVERYONE from far and wide to go here once your in P.R! read more

After my husband's company's formal meeting I galvanized everyone to go to the club in the El San Juan. As far as clubs go it was pretty good. Good music- a nice mix of pop, rap, salsa, hip hop and reggae. It was hilarious seeing everyone in his company living it up at the club. There were two groups of us that went over and when we ran into each other in the club it was insane. Shots everywhere, people dancing all over the place...I have to hand it to them. They work hard but they play hard. My kind of people. One thing I found particularly fun was that Brava served shots in champagne flutes! Awesome. Shots of Jager out of champagne flutes. The club itself if kind of small. There are two levels but the 2nd floor isn't big at all. (The bar up there was less crowded though) The tables were in awkward places but it totally wasn't necessary to get one you could easily move around. Thats not to say the place was empty, it was at the perfect occupancy. I do have to give them a big thumbs up to the bathrooms- I'm one of those who get excited about bathrooms. The wall in the back of the women's stalls is a pane of glass that faces the men's urinals on the other side. There is a little sign on the back of the door that says something to the effect of "Go ahead and peek at the guys, its our little secret" So I turned around and saw the silhouette behind me (the glass is frosted) and it was actually my husband! Ugh. So not a fan. Although apparently this is the place to go in San Juan... $20 Cover Charge and they SEARCH your bag, your pockets, everything, to an invasive level. I always carry Aleve in my purse, and I had it in a bag, zipped inside a cosmetics bag inside my purse and they took it, saying they "can't let any pills in to the club". I loved the music here!!! A mix of top 40s and old school hip hop! It was $20 to get in. Dress to impress. We didn't have a problem getting in at all. Don't know why people in previous reviews complain about the dress code. I guess we're from New York so we're used to it. Why would you want to wear sandals and risk getting your toes stepped on and alcohol spilled on anyway?! To get in, we walked into Hotel El San Juan and down a longggggg hallway to the end. This club is upscale and modern. Spacious upstairs and downstairs with lots of places to walk around. Even the lobby was packed with people dancing. The DJ was really good taking it from the top 40 to some techno and house that I could tolerate. We came on a Saturday night. The drinks were reasonably priced. Lots of chicas for any guy roaming around Puerto Rico looking for someone to meet in or out of town. This is a great tourist spot if you want to put on that nice dress, flat iron your hair, and strut around in your platform heels. A group of ladies were there for a bridal shower celebration, which I thought was a great idea. Brava has a stage, if you were bold enough, drunk enough, or sexy enough to get up there and work your body for all to see. People were just having a really good time, so whatever you did no one would probably care anyways. Not a lot of seating here, but they let you sit in the hotel lobby and come back in. Mehhh. Ever since we landed, Club Brava was the talk of the town for young peeps to go on a Friday or Saturday night for partying. With a long line for no reason, a $20 charge, and a DJ who is never in his DJ booth, this place is #MEHHH. The only fun part is that there's a stage up front for peeps to dance on, and it seems like people are dancing from all sorts of tables etc too. 2 Levels means fun areas to go to, but still. I think it's named the best bc well, no other clubs have made it to the top. On the otherhand, outside of Brava in the El San Juan Hotel, the lobby is on fiyahhh! It has a huge bar and a large latin dance party with blaring latin music from a 12 piece live band - yeahhh boyeeeee! By FAR my fav part of this place. Young or old, a great looking couple dancing to latin music makes anyone smile and have a good time. And there's a RUM Bar to the right of everything with the funniest bartender named Antonio. Seeing that the stars weren't many for this venue, I was SUPER skeptical of coming here. But, I ended up having an extremely good time. I came here with a group of friends with bottle service. I ended up getting chummy with a few guys at the round bar outside in the lobby who unknowingly also had bottle service. Poppin' bottles at multiple tables. I love it when that happens. The night was fun. The service here is quick and efficient. The waitresses that come to your booth/table are friendly. The music was good the entire night. Not one bad song was played. The crowd was also great. Everyone was friendly, no drama occurred & no fighting happened. A great time indeed. I would definitely go back. My husband and I came here on Friday night. We am not a local in San Juan. We do not know which club is good or which club is suitable for 30 something. The hotel people told us to check this club. We took a cab to get here. This is inside of Hotel El San Juan. We reached around 10:30 PM. It was already a huge line. Also we quickly realized that we were a little bit older than the rest of people. Especially girls dressed up so nicely. When we got into the club finally, we had to pay for $20. I thought that was kinda high. But whatever,,,,, The music is pretty nice. They played most of US pop/dance music. It was packed inside the club. But people behaved very well. We heard that Brava was the "hottest" club in the San Juan area so went one night. The initial impression of the place was super tourist-y. The bouncers were cool, but the staff takes away your cigarettes at the door. I never came across that policy. We drank about $50 worth of alcohol EACH and couldn't even get a buzz. The alcohol didn't taste watered down but I should have been buzzed if not drunk by that point. I guess because we're from LA and get a lot of the newest music I felt that the music selection on the main dancefloor was nothing but the played out stuff. The club isn't huge and got packed beyond belief. I liked the upstairs better. Puerto Rico has a good house music scene. The BATHROOMS - very interesting... the ladies can see the silhouettes of the men at the urinals... I had to take a picture I think we left the club at 1am, had a drink at the hotel bar, and hopped into a taxi. Pretty boring night. read more

Meh... On the last night (Saturday) of our stay in Puerto Rico,my friend and I decided that we had to experience the nightlife in club form. We were staying in Isla Verde and didn't want to travel too far out so we searched Yelp and came upon this club. We didn't read the reviews but did go through the pictures. We concluded that it looked like a fun time and that the club catered to a diverse crowd. A few things if you aren't already aware. 1. Club Brava is located in El San Juan the hotel which is currently undergoing some renovations. While the hotel is not open for business, you still have access to the club. 2. Women are free before 11:30 (according to the bouncer), if you don't make it, there's a $20 cover charge. The club looks decent. Has 2 levels. Security is present. At any given moment tunes can be heard coming from 2 DJs (I assume that each level has a DJ). The music selection of Saturday night was only ok at best. A lot of pop, electronica, a little reggae, a little reggaeton, some current "rap"... I didn't like the mixing styles much, but the guy on the bottom level was providing more diversity and seemed to get more of a response from the crowd. The crowd was high energy, one thing that I did like about the experience. My advice to the women on vacation, bring a pair of sandals, flats, or comfortable wedges. There is seating, but most of it is for people who purchased sections. Otherwise, you may find random spots, but again, limited. The only way I'd return is if I was having another lazy night where I just wanted to get somewhere and enjoy some music and the nightlife atmosphere. But so it's not a waste of time, just head into San Juan. read more

Like any club anywhere in the world, your mileage will vary depending on the make and model of your car. In this analogy, that refers to anything from the crowds, to the music, to your own posse. Luckily, my posse included a friend who hooked us up with the sweetest VIP box in the club and bottle service all night long--complimentary, of course.
