First, the staff is insanely good at service and crafting the drinks. I was amazed sitting at the bar as they made these drinks. Not to mind the price is perfect. I never had a bad drink here out of the two nights and many drinks had. The layout is amazing with multiple rooms, bars, and DJs. Anything from techno, pop mixes, to latin. Popped into this place to check out the music. The hotel staff recommended it. The ambience was spot on there were two different rooms, actually three. Each of them have different music. One room, the main area had salsa, dancing, and music and eventually at 9:30 PM a live salsa band came on. That was a whole lot of fun however it was very crowded. The second room had a nice house music going on. There was a bar and a DJ and it was not as busy as the main area was. And the third room was the bar that leads to the outside called La Cubanita, which was playing mellow lounge music with a tropical beat. The food at La Factoria was definitely overrated and just OK. I did not think it was worth the price and I probably would not eat there again. None of us really liked what we ordered, but we ate it because well... We were hungry. They do offer a wide range of beverages from your standard beer, wine, and top shelf brands, however, they are known for their own concoctions. All of the drinks we ordered were delicious. Overall, we had fun, and it was not too pricey for the beverages. Just FYI there actually isn't a sign above this place that says "La Factoria", therefore It took us a while to figure out where to enter til we asked someone on the street. If you enter from one side, there is a very small air conditioned bar room. We couldn't sit there because there weren't any empty spots, so we walked into the other bar room connected to it in the back. This space was very hot and uncomfortable, so we didn't stay there either. There was a third bar room blocked off by a garbage can. I guess we could have walked around it, but it was clear they didn't want people to do so. Therefore, we went around the corner to enter that 3rd bar from the outside. It had a sign that said Cubano or something like that. We entered this bar, which also wasn't air conditioned but had a lot of fans making it comfortable still. The bartender was a character and was very silly. There were also a few other younger patrons in this bar room as well. Medallas were only $2 or $3 here. When I went to the back to use the bathroom, you can hear the music and people from the other bar room connected, but blocked off by that garbage can inside. I felt like walking back further to explore, but didn't want to get scolded. We were told the building was over 350 years old and known to be haunted by a friendly ghost. We went in on a weekday early evening and were seated immediately. We tried 4 drinks - some rum, some gin based. Everything was nice! Service and ambience are exceptional, very PR-esque. Got a Lavender Mule (perfectttttt with a lavender infusion and ginger flavor but not ginger-spicy) and Cucumber Smash (super refreshing!) which were delightful. The vibe was really awesome even though it was the middle of the day, a great group of locals around too, which only increased my confidence that this was an awesome spot to check out, not just a tourist spot. When they say artisanal cocktails, they absolutely mean it. I enjoyed watching the bartender make our drinks. My husband and I enjoyed sitting at the bar, there are also smaller tables and a really plush red couch area for relaxed seating. The best seat in the house, in our opinion was really the two barstools that look out into the street. We enjoyed sitting there, taking in some of the sun, people watching, and taking some really cute photos with our drinks. Additional cool factor: La Factoria is connected to four other bars, all on the same street, but you can actually navigate in between them through doorways inside each bar. This bar consists of 6 different rooms with a different vibe, but we only made my way through 3 of them since it was quite crowded on a Saturday night.
