The diviest of bars with the most friendly people. Dienna (sp?) was just as sweet as pie. My hubby was always on the hunt for a pina colada, so had they had frozen drinks, we would have stayed longer. It's very tiny, so if you're like me and don't like to stand in establishments, get there early for a seat which are limited to about six barstools and 2-3 tables. read more

This was my favorite place for drinks in Old San Juan. It's a gay bar with the best vibes. The night we went they were having some karaoke. When they didn't have a voluntary singer, the DJ was playing some banger music. This place is how I found several new songs to add to my playlist. The interior is so bright and colorful. We stayed here for over an hour drinking and dancing and enjoying the people we were surrounded by. Can't wait to visit again! read more

This was a fun little bar in Old San Juan. The drinks were strong and there was a wide selection. There was a single bartender while we were there and that did result in some longer wait times for drinks. The music was also very loud and made conversations virtually impossible. I hung out there all day, had a great time meeting people coming in and drawing people in but when the night came they tried to charge me $1 to use the bathroom!? I've been using the bathroom all day since I was there drinking. So for the same shit 1 stall bathroom with bugs all over it they want to charge $1 all the sudden cause the sun went down!? I mean it's the only gay bar here so monopoly hello..... but make sure you go during the day and get out before the sun sets. read more

Can I give negative stars? On our way to LA Factoría we decided to stop in this place for a couple of drinks. Upon entering there was only one guy, his girl and the bartender, who were all friends. We immediately didn't feel very welcomed but decided to order a drink anyway. Within 5-10 minutes the male in the bar started acting more strange to us, thinking we were checking out his girl. He then proceeds to pull a gun out of his waistband and threaten us by telling us we should be careful and afraid of people like him. We promptly called an Uber, paid our bill and left very shaken up. read more

4 of us stopped in midnight Monday for drinks. Music was just right for us. contemporary rap and r&b (my preference) Got a margarita, a blue Hawaiian and a few $1 jello shots. We were happy with the drinks. Kind of dry for a Monday night (but we expected that) The price for drinks and the music were on point. Then all of a sudden a big ass roach came from under the bar. So big, the bartender even jumped. I grew up in the hood, so I'm no stranger to roaches, but this roach was as big as 2 thumbs. There was no way for her to deny or play it off. If I could write a 0 star I would. WORST PLACE EVER. our "bartender" was sexist and wouldn't serve any of my girlfriends drinks and just payed attention to the male patrons. She went ahead and ignored us for the rest of the night till someone acknowledged us there and finally got around to getting us a drink. Then we proceeded to be in the middle of a fist fight with the " server" because she was being sexist towards women. Punched our friend in the face and yanked our hairs into a fist fight. Never will I suggest anyone to come here and be treated this way. Maybe when they don't have sexist servers who think women aren't good enough for service and only for her to feel superior. Our was short with black hair, maybe late 20-30s. It's a bar, you're supposed to accommodate everyone, not cto your interest. read more

The service is terrible, its dirty and they don't serve good drinks. I decided to go to the bathroom with my friend so she could hold my purse. A guy started yelling at my friend from the middle of the bar that only one person could go into the bathroom at the same time. He said that we were LESBIANS and he didn't want any action going on inside the bathroom. He repeated over and over that he was an employee and that he had to be respected (crazy drunk). I then asked him what his purpose was to yell at my friend when she was just waiting outside and the OWNER started saying that I was not welcome. He was screaming at me saying that I was a bitch. I asked her if she was seriously ok with how he was acting and she just walked away. This is a place I will never spend a single cent in ever again. read more

My friends and I stood by for more than 30 mins and she ignored us and served the men around us only. I would never go back. I don't recommend this place at all. It started to rain so we hopped into the first place we saw. It does look intimating on the outside, but don't be scared, walk on in! It is located off the beaten bath so it could be tough to find, but we had friendly service, drinks on the cheap (read: 3 local beers for $5), full bar offerings and viewed interesting art plastered on the walls. We didn't stay very long as we were anxious to continue exploring Old San Juan but I think I'll keep this bar on my list of place to visit if I return, plus it has a cute name! read more

Upon entering, we were greeted by a young woman who, mentioned it was her very first day as an assistant to the bartender. Despite being brand new, she was warm, engaged, and genuinely welcoming, excited for us that we had made it back after several years, and impressed with our efforts. Shortly thereafter the bartender on duty approached us mid-conversation, visibly irritated. When I mentioned that we hadn't yet decided on drinks but were being well taken care of in the meantime, she interrupted sharply to bark at us that she was the bartender and the ONLY one who could help us. The tone was unwelcoming enough that after a moment, my companion and I determined that we would prefer to move on and left without ordering. The atmosphere is truly special, and it deserves to be matched by the experience guests receive at the bar. Our experience was simply not the vibe that night, and I truly was disappointed FOR the new hire who was doing what she should in engaging us until we could be served. So weirdly enough I had a blast here but...:there was a super drunk dude there and I tried get him back to His home. The lesbian door person then kicked me out even though I was sober as a judge. Like wtf. I was actually trying to help get the rifraf out. Then she kicked me out. It was terrible. I feel like maybe there was some racism and sexism. The lesbian Puerto Rican hates gay white men I guess. I had a fabulous time but the way I was treated as I'm (sober). Wtf. Really. There are even fun barber-related knick knacks hiding in plain sight, such as shaving brushes hanging from a chandelier. Keep an eye out and see what you spot. It's all dimly lit and much more romantic than it sounds. This would be a great date spot. They serve high-end cocktails, but great food, too. We enjoyed the fish tacos quite a bit. The drinks are the star, though, and their list is huge. The menu has two sections, one for classics (think, moscrow mules, mint juleps, old fashioned, aviations, corpse revivers, etc.) and one for house creations. The selection is impressive, but it's the quality that earns them five stars. Everything we tried was expertly mixed, but the consensus fave was the barbero viejo, an old fashioned variation with mole, maple syrup, and a flamed orange peel. It was delicious, very subtle with the sweetness, and potent, too. Highly recommended. Pro-tip: they keep the door locked at all times, even when they're open. If you see people inside, just wait patiently. They check vaccine status and mask status and require you to wash your hands with sanitizer before entering. It's first come first served seating, so we like to show up right when they open, which is supposed to be 7:00 pm. They aren't exactly punctual, though, so don't be surprised if they stay locked up until 7:15-7:30. Extra bonus points for the many drawings and photos of prodigiously mustachioed men throughout the space. My faves: Dali, or Mario/Luigi.
