Whenever we have trips out of town, we always leave our dog at Red Rover. They have cameras in the play area so you can watch your dog interact with the workers/other dogs at random times of the day. I check on my dog a lot when they are out and everytime I do, I always notice how the dogs swarm the workers. It's so sweet to see the workers playing and kissing the dogs. You can tell the dogs love them. We have a big trip planned this summer and of course we will bring our dog to Red Rover! The first few times we brought her, she was always anxious when she walks in. She gets very anxious when she gets groomed or goes to the doctor's office. However, I think she knows when she is going to Red rover now because when she walks in, she is calm. Do not take your dog to this place. I left my dog there for two months, and when I got my dog back, my dog looked malnourished and unfed. They left my dog in a cage for several hours each day. My BFF brings her fur babies to Red Rover on a nearly daily basis and Red Rover takes good care of her energetic pup Matcha! I've been here a few times, one of the times was to pick up sweet Matcha. Thought it was worth updating that Red Rover continues to do a great job taking care of Sparks! We just picked him up from a two week stay. In the past, we sent him with kibble because it just felt easier, though he has primarily eaten raw food for the past several years as he does better on it. The Red Rover staff had previously told us that they could manage raw food that needed to be defrosted every day, but we never tried it until this time! Our dogs have been going to Red Rover for a few years now. We had our dogs boarding there as we were going to Hawaii for a few days. We had just gotten off our long flight and rushed over there so we could get them (we missed them so much, if you're a dog parent you know!) Luckily, one of the workers was able to contact Jeremy and he made the exception to let us pick them up late. Thank you to Jeremy and the entire staff for taking such good care of our babies. As soon as we saw them, we could see their bellies were full and they were as happy as a dog can be. It's always hard to leave our doggies but knowing they were in such good hands made it bearable. Last few times I dropped off my dog early morning around 6:30-7:30am, I noticed through the web cam that there weren't any dogs out in the yard until after 9:00am. Today, I noticed through the web cam that the outdoor yard was empty and it's almost 4pm. So I called to inquire why the yard was empty and if my dog has been in a crate for most of the day. Finding the right daycare for my Lola, beautiful pit bull mustache dog mix, was a full time job in it of itself. Everyone was way over priced like they were babysitting a Kardashian. SMH. When I came to red rover, I was absolutely amazed by how friendly and cool the staff were. They didn't have boarding upper crust private school rules. They were super FLEXIBLE. I could drop Lola off anytime between 730 am and pick her up around closing time. They are super duper understanding and kind. Renee is AMAZING. AMAZING. Amazing. It's a hard knock life for a struggling single dog mom. Life gets rough out here. I would sometimes walk in past closing time looking like I've been steam rolled by life. She always handled me with grace, patience, and compassion. The rates are super accommodating. Or else I would not even be able to bring Lola here. Rocky stayed here for 6 days and he got some bad hotspots on his neck and smelled really bad. It was our first time dropping him on a pet resort and we don't think it's worth-it. His voicebox was broken and one of his canine tooth was chipped. We felt really bad for him. We think the people working here should know better specially in taking care of big dogs. Red Rover was one of the best doggy daycares we have ever come across! Since moving away from the Bay Area, it has been really difficult to find anything close in comparison. We were able to bring our puppy husky here to learn how to socialize and play with other pups and she eventually moved up in to the big dogs play area. Our older, dominant male husky was also in a safe environment where he was able to get along with all the dogs here and was corrected when need be (something that we have had issues with at other daycares in the past). They have a large yard area with grass, offer baths/grooming and various options for overnight stays. Video camera app allows you to watch the doggos from home on your phone as well as from their Instagram posts. All of the employees and the owner are also really nice people too :) Arkin & Ruby sure do miss going to school at Red Rover! read more

Being a responsible dog owner (which is obviously rare for the Bay Area) I informed this establishment of two things when I dropped them off for their temperament test: 1. My older dog (11 years old) doesn't do well with younger dogs. I don't understand why this is actually news! This is common with dogs as older dogs will entertain younger dogs/puppies, but there is a point where they become indifferent and would rather be left alone. 2. My younger dog (3 years old) doesn't necessarily care for unaltered males. Again, this is common. Altered dogs frequently have an aversion to unaltered dogs and most facilities are aware of this and don't allow the dogs to intermingle. Based on me sharing these two basic pieces of information my dogs were labeled as aggressive and anxious and I learned the place didn't actually do a temperament test, they just took my word for it (again hearing they were anxious and aggressive) and kept them isolated. They have been boarded at least 3 times after this which is very concerning bc I basically paid for my dogs to sit isolated on multiple trips. Avoid if you can, or don't give them any information they can use against your fur baby. read more

Very solid for daycare! I've been taking my dog to Red Rover since moving to the Bay Area, and always have peace of mind when I drop him off (which honestly, is the most important thing). They charge $44 for a full day, $35 for a half day, but also have packages and a monthly membership available. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I know my dog genuinely enjoys his time here. A few negatives - I rarely see my dog on their camera feeds. I think this is because they only have cameras in some areas of the facility, and not others. The staff also mentioned that the dogs are taken inside for a mandatory nap time in the afternoons, which I personally don't love. I wish they could make this optional, since I bring my dog here to play/release his energy, and napping is something he can do at home for free. Finally, my dog often smells VERY strongly of urine when I pick him up, probably because of the turf outside. However, I haven't had this problem as much in other daycares, so it is a little unpleasant. Overall though, I will happily continue to use Red Rover and hope that they take this feedback into consideration! read more

I emailed Jeremy (the owner), with the choking video to report the incident but he denied it. I bought a daycare package because I thought they were good basing from the reviews, but, I was wrong. They have the nerve to choke my tiny 9.5 lbs. dog on live webcam, I can not imagine the abuse that they do on closed doors. For your fur babies' safety, avoid Red Rover Pet Resort. This review is long overdue! So, here goes... I have been bringing my lovely yellow lab, TJ, for the better part of his life (he is 5 and a half years old and he has been coming to RRPR for about 5 years now). I have used many of their services over the years - daycare, boarding, baths etc and apart from minor issues here and there (no business is perfect!) - it's been great! Daycare is a breeze - Let's face it, mornings are busy. All I have to do is open the front door. TJ dashes into the facility and Jeremy (owner) and his friendly staff take care of the rest. Pickup is equally convenient. TJ comes out with his lead in his mouth (labs are funny creatures!) shaking his body to Saturday Night fever. Happy dog. Goes in excited, comes out tired. Mission accomplished. Boarding's pretty good too. I have left him for shorter periods (2-3 days) and longer periods (2-3 weeks). I have had his food delivered (online) while sitting thousands of miles away, I have had the staff give TJ his meds. A couple of times he ran out of food, and they took care of that too. Yes, there are some occasional minor issues with scheduling etc, but they've usually been sorted out with direct feedback to Jeremy and his staff. Pricing is pretty competitive as well... I live 10+ miles away and have multiple options but the overall package works well. I have also had multiple conversations with the owner, Jeremy. He is friendly, professional and passionate about dogs and his business. It's a great combination that works for the customer. read more

I've only taken my dogs here 3 times so far but every time they came out so happy!! We would get home and they would just sleep for the rest of the evening. I'm so happy I found this place. I'm always so worried leaving my pups with someone else but after the first visit I felt like I could trust Red Rover! They have cameras in the play area outside where the dogs spend most of the day. It's a little hard to see since you can't zoom in but it's amazing that you can still watch your dogs and be sure they're ok. I have a pug and a Frenchie so they overheat easily. I saw them spray dogs with water/mist during the day when it's really hot outside which is great for dogs like mine! During the hottest part of the day they take them inside for nap time (12-2/3pm). After looking at the good reviews, I booked a boarding on 4th of July weekend for my 5 month old puppy for 3 nights and 4 days for the 80/night. My puppy came home with a bleeding hole in his right arm from what looks to be a bite and has been having diarrhea, coughs, and loss of appetite since I picked him up. He's lost weight as well which is odd since he's an avid eater and the extra labeled servings of food and snacks I packed in case of emergency has all been emptied. When I picked him up, the front desk staff said that another dog had an "argument" with my puppy and did not provide additional details when pressed. It may sound like exaggeration when I say that Red Rover Pet Resort has been a life saver, but it isn't. I adopted my rescue puppy a couple of weeks before I unexpectedly took a new job. To make a long story short, I was planning to be working from home indefinitely but ended up having to spend most of my day working and commuting to/from work. I had no idea what to do with my little guy. He was just a few months old and Husky mix puppies need a LOT of exercise and mental stimulation. I set up an initial meet & greet to see how he did with the other dogs in this new environment. He did awesome and was welcomed with open arms! Fast forward to almost 6 months later, and my pup is a regular here (he comes every single weekday). My doggo loves them (and so do I!). They take great care of my baby and he absolutely LOVES going to daycare everyday to play with his friends. This place keeps me sane and I know he is in good hands. I brought my puppy 7 month Sheepadoodle to not only help her socialize but to help her run out her excess puppy energy. The staff is both knowledgeable and helpful and the initial temperament testing makes sure all dogs that are admitted knows how to interact with other dogs. I especially love how you can bring the dog in for the doggie daycare anytime. It helps for times when things pop up and you need to be away for a day or when it is rainy and you can walk your dog. I brought my previous dog here about 5 years ago and I'm happy the same level of service and care still exist. My new puppy is very happy for it. read more

Easy reservation process. The owner, manager and staff all seem to care a lot about dogs, which is important. Not only do they have a web cam if you want to see your pet, but I emailed the staff while we were away and they gave me a quick update on our dog. When we requested a bath for the day we were picking our dog up - no problem. When our flight was delayed and we were going to arrive an hour after closing, they made an exception and accommodated a late pick-up. They even offer "20 Minutes of One on One Quality Time for $15" which is great for rescue dogs or dogs who are shy/skiddish. Overall, what's not to love?!? If you can swing it, I recommend the "Deluxe Boarding" which is small rooms with white wood walls so the dogs remain very clam & peaceful. The "General Boarding" is essentially wire cages all in one room and the dogs all see each other and bark at each other for hours. read more

My doggo LOVES this place, so much he cries if I don't get him inside fast enough. The caretakers know him by name and give him lots of attention. He is always so tired when I pick him up, he never wants to leave! I love to see all the dogs playing with him on the backyard camera, really helps when I miss him so much. The owner responded to his review only addressing the kennel cough. I'm aware of that kennel cough is something that happens despite vaccinations as there are so many strains. What the owner failed to notice in my review or show compassion for is the STAPH INFECTION my dog contracted while at the facility. I had to pay 1k in medical bills and aside from that, watch my dog go through painful procedures as he had white pus filled cysts all over his body that had to be drained. In any case, it's been over month since this happened and now my dog is doing great but I still would not recommend this facility to others. If you do decide to bring your dog here, I urge caution. I originally chose against showing pictures of what happened to my dog but after some thought, have decided to attach a picture depicting the severity of the staph infection so others can judge for themselves if this is a facility they trust to care for their canine companions. read more

I believe I've been bringing Darwin to Red Rover for a year or more now. We have gone to a couple of other Doggy Daycares in the past before trying Red Rover and we've stuck with this one! We've also used them for boarding. It's clean and the play area is a nice size for the dogs. Energetic dogs have the space to run around and play while there is enough space for others to just "chill" and relax. They also sometimes have a little pool out for the water loving dogs to enjoy. The owner is very nice and friendly. You can tell her truly loves all the dogs that come in! Every employee I have met with is also great and I know I can trust them with Darwin.
