Came from out of town and this place gets 2 stars for the girls because the one I talked to was really chill but I don't like at all how one of the guys that worked there acted. I put money in the change machine and it took my money. I went over and asked him to help and he said "You weren't supposed to be on this side so they probably aren't going to do anything" that makes no sense at all and was not an acceptable reply. I had to ask like 3 other workers for help and finally someone came with a paper to fill out. That was pretty hilarious so I'll never get that $20 back and I spent way more than that the little time I was there. First off let me say everyone at this place was nice except the bartender. As cute as she can be, but it look like she had a attitude the whole night even when she was making my drink's. I had came to visit this place on July 13th 2023 all the way from California and a lot of people was telling me to hit up this spot. Ummm... I was pleasantly surprised. Got here a little early so didn't really kick off immediately. But by 11 they finally let the bad joints out. Prices for drinks are about average for strip club. WhT I didn't like tho is the change machine takes between 20-30% depending on how much money you change. And at certain times you are forced to use it. Yay! I get to be first to review this strip club! I've been a few times, and I hope not to miss anything. Onyx is apart of the Rick's Cabaret chain of strip clubs all over the USA. As you may guess, the Onyx clubs are geared toward urban, or black customers who want better entertainment. It is a pretty spacious club, with a separate bar area away from the stages and couches. I guess people can go there to get a little break from all the T&A action and music? I don't know why anyone would but it's there if you need it. They do serve food, and I've heard from a few different people that the wings are really good. I don't want to eat at a strip club personally so I can't say for sure. The chairs are all pretty comfy, and they face a big main stage flanked by two mirrors. There is an elevated couch area that I presume is VIP only. I haven't elevated myself to that status yet so I sat in the main area with most of the other patrons. Almost every time I have been to this club, there have been almost the same amount of women as men watching the dancers. So if you are the type of guy annoyed by that, you may want to steer clear. I'm talking groups of 4,5 women coming into the club together. Other than that, there are couples or what looks to be mixed groups of friends. The single men or groups of men seem to be outnumbered on the evenings I've gone. Now, for the talent. I will say that out of all the clubs I have been to up and down the East Coast, this club has a very good standard for hiring, which I hear they stick to. With the exception of Miami, Atlanta and perhaps Sue's Rendezous in the NYC area, Onyx has some pretty well shaped/groomed dancers. Pretty impressive for a city like Charlotte. The dancers are mostly black/American, but there were Indian and Asian mixed in the line up too. Most of all the dancers where slim and in shape, with about 3 or 4 on both sides of that spectrum. As to be expected, the weekend line up is more varied and even more stunning than in the week. I plan to be a regular at this place. :) read more

Some of the girls was a little aggressive trying to get the most for today money for mediocre service but I don't judge the whole club for this. I do wish they had a bar That served better food but then again, I don't blame the bar. This is probably my favorite strip club! I went there for the first time last night (January 25, 2019) and it was lit AF! The ladies were thick and gorgeous as hell! Tables are first come first serve but I noticed people didn't stay all night so if the tables are full don't worry one will clear up eventually. Also I didn't see many girls working the pole (and pole dance is my preference) the most I saw them do was hold on to it while they were dancing. So if pole dance is your preference this might not be the strip club for you, but the ladies are beautiful and can really dance. So check them out! read more

She told me it was for "show" and that she was just getting started. After she was done for 2minutes she took everything SHE tipped HERSELF. Definitely did not live up to the Onyx brand. I've visited the clubs in Dallas as well as Houston several times and I have never left disappointed, but my Charlotte visit left me feeling like I wasted my time as well as money. We arrived around three and the parking lot was packed but luckily we were not charged the $20 to park, and we were only charged $20 to get in. When we entered the crowd definitely was not inside the club because there were a lot of vacant tables. The girls looked as if they did not want to be there; no makeup, hair unkempt, and wardrobe was definitely not up to par. The stage performances were lackluster and definitely weren't worth my attention. I'll take a hard pass next time I visit Charlotte. read more
