I was given a day and time for a new appointment and when I called to confirm the day of, the receptionist told me she doesn't have my name on the list. She kept cutting me off when I tried to explain that someone rescheduled my appointment when I called days ago. I told her I really need the massage as a post-surgical requirement but she kept telling me in a very unapologetic way that there's nothing she can do about it and that she doesn't remember rescheduling my appointment (my call logs prove otherwise). I recommend going to other places for massage therapy and physiotherapy because this place doesn't care about its clients. Now I have to suffer through my condition a little longer and I have to look for a new place at the last minute to have my lymphatic massage...

I was skeptical of Massage Therapists because the ones that I had treatment from in the past were not proficient enough to assist me with rectifying my injuries and conditions, and let's say they didn't give forth a great effort. The RMT's at The Treatment Room actually care about your health, they are constantly improving because they care about the patients and their practice. Every visit you will have the same consistency of care (100 percent effort). The rooms are clean with calming decor and the RMT's are as professional as it gets. I recently moved to Edmonton Alberta 2 years ago and I am still looking at trying to find a RMT practice that even comes close to The Treatment Room. You will not find a better practice out there.

I'm getting ready to go on maternity leave within the next 2 months, and I'm booked for a massage every week! The Treatment Room is great and conveniently located near Chester Station. I'd had really good results with the technique previously and wanted to try it on my tight calves. A Facebook friend mentioned being treated here so I did a bit of investigating. They're really quick to answer emails and very helpful! It took a while to organise an appointment-a mixture of them being busy and me having to work. When we managed to coordinate schedules, it was really easy. I was allowed to book by email and got a time that suited me! The space is really lovely. It's all open in the centre with lots of light and shiny wood floors. Individual treatment rooms are off to the side which was really nice. Can't say I love going to physio and being in a row of beds as if it's an old style ward. I like my privacy! Especially when I'm paying for it. My reception was friendly and I was given the usual intake forms and then it was just a short wait before my physio arrived. I had Carl who was fabulous. Really friendly, very thorough and excellent clinically. He picked up on stuff without me telling him which is always a good sign. He also didn't just look at my calves-he was more holistic and system-based which I also liked. There were moments when I didn't completely love him (like when he was putting needles into my chronically tight muscles) but overall I have only praise for him! I particularly liked it that he didn't try to book me in for more sessions. It was left open-ended...I can go back if I need to. I don't like being stuck going back forever and ever. Rates are pretty standard I think. It's $110 for the first session which is stated to be 45 minutes. I think it was at least that if not slightly longer. Follow-ups are $60 for 20 minutes and $70 for 30 mins. I think most places are that expensive though. And I escaped with a one-off. Think my calves feel better. Despite disregarding all the post-procedure advice. Sorry Carl!

Then I was simply asked "What have you done for this in the past?" I responded "Acupuncture." To which he replied "Okay, let's do that." I was hooked up and he left. It felt good, took care of the issue and he came back to due a small adjustment and he said I should be back in a day or two for another session. It was an alright experience but I got the impression that my issue or just me as a patient just wasn't all that important to the doctor. The clinic was packed with people in different rooms, the waiting room was full. It was clear he was treating up to 5 or 6 people at a time which is okay I guess, I understand that you can do an adjustment on someone while the other guy is getting acupuncture. But the thought kept creeping in to mind that maximizing profit was more important than my issue. You can get great treatment here, but I just like to have a bit more of a one-on-one experience with a personable doctor that has a vested interested in getting you better. Not sure you can get that here. Maybe you can, maybe I just had a bad experience, maybe my standards are too high. Not sure, but I've found another chiropractor I prefer.
