I've been wanting to try pilates for a while, and heard such great things about it, especially for those who have injuries but still want to remain active. My friend and I decided to give it a shot at Club Pilates as they have a studio in Bellevue. For starters, we signed up for a free trial class ahead of time online. We were told that we need to bring grip socks, which is required, otherwise we'd have to pay for grip socks at the studio. In addition to grip socks, they also sell a lot of different apparel and accessories at the studio. The free trial class is not a full class. It's a preview of different movements that a class may conduct. You do get to use the reformer machine, which was interesting as this was a first for me. The class was half an hour and the instructor walks around and teaches you how to use the machine and goes over the different movements. My friend and I felt like since this wasn't a full class, we didn't get much of an experience of what to expect at a pilates class. Therefore, we mentioned this to the staff when they tried to sell us a membership after our free trial. So then they offered us to take a full class for free, which we scheduled a week later. The full class was not much different of an experience though. The instructor yelled out the different movements to do, but didn't demonstrate what they were, so we had to watch what others in the class were doing. Then when the class ended, we were surprised, as we didn't get much of a workout. This is the first time I participated in a fitness class and didn't sweat or needed to take off my outer layer. It was very low energy. Depending on what you're looking for, pilates may be for you. But it isn't for me, especially given how expensive it is. I found it to be boring and not challenging. I can see why this kind of workout may be good for those with injuries or who may want more of a stretch - and in that case, Club Pilates in Bellevue has a nice studio for just that. The studio is clean and has a parking lot outside of the building. Just note that there only a certain number of reformer machines, so classes do fill up quickly. read more

7:00 AM 5/10/25 class with Helen: This was hands down the worst Pilates class I've ever attended. The instructor showed up 10 minutes late and then kept leaving the room, yelling instructions from somewhere else in the building--which was both unprofessional and incredibly distracting. The workout itself felt completely disjointed, lacked any real flow or challenge, and overall felt like a total waste of time. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I would absolutely never return and wouldn't recommend this class to anyone looking for a serious or even mildly effective Pilates session. read more

Very bad experience. Poor management. I'm highly suspicious about the good review. I was scheduled twice for trial classes and showed up twice and told I can't join the class. Please respect peoples time!!! The marketing approach is not graceful at all. They keep calling you to ask you to sign up and offer free class and once you sign up and come to the class on time and they would tell you that you are not signed up. If offering free trial is not something you would to do, then please don't do so and use other marketing approach. I'm not easily offended but very much so and this is my first yelp negative review. I recently changed from a different Club Pilates studio to their Bellevue location. A big incentive was the wonderful quality of instructors at Bellevue, some of whom I knew from the other studio. The staff at Bellevue are friendly, there are two studios (which gives me more options for scheduling my classes without lingering on waitlists), and a bonus is the easy parking out front. I found the instructors to all be very knowledgeable and skilled though they can vary greatly within their teaching techniques even within one particular skill level So it's always good to try a few different instructors in order to find the one that works best for you. Still when I Ran into a snafu was scheduling customer service/Kris was excellent with helping me sort out a plan that would work best for my needs . Club Pilate Bellevue has one of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have tried canceling my membership due to injuries and personal health for over 6 months. Their Manager, Vicotria, insisted and convinced me (against my better judgment) that I should pause and not cancel back in March of 2024 for 3 months. After paying another 3 months and not using my membership, I asked via email and writing to please cancel my membership. I got the run around about getting charged 100 dollars since I was 3 days into my cycle. After multiple phone calls and conversation with Victoria , she agreed to wave the 100 dollars and cancel my membership. This was early in September. It is November they charged me again for October. I have tried calling and emailing Victoria, and if and when I get her on the line, I need to refresh her memories about the issue. In our last conversation, she punted the problem on me about chasing my credit card on why I was not refunded. She is yet to produce any refund papers or respond back to me in a timely manner. She has been very dismissive and condescending when I speak with her. I have probably spent over 3 hours or more on phone calls and emails just to get one month refund that should have never been charged. I am not sure how this club can advertise well being as their staff has been a major headache and stress in my life. I have friends that are member of other Pilate Clubs that are treated decently so I urge anybody that is looking to go with any other choice then the Club Plates Bellevue. Since I've found Pilates at Club Pilates, I've found that I'm more consistent with my workouts. The workouts are fun and the instructors I've taken classes from are great. Some instructor push a little bit more than others, but they all are diligent on correcting you for proper form, which I like and don't mind. They are very helpful in adjusting my positioning and they are very mindful when I have certain issues that I'm dealing with in terms of injury.
