It was the perfect amount because I could try different classes throughout the week. I love that it is close to home and in downtown Grove City. I am able to walk around the area and try the other shops nearby. I love the studio space. It smells amazing when you walk in, fresh and calming. The instructors are really nice. The classes are a nice workout and close to what I am used to. I turned my Groupon into a monthly buy-in. I can't wait to continue to practice yoga at Rise Yoga.

I participated in a hot candlelit yoga class and it was hot! The vibes were nice, it seems like pump essential oils through the room so it still smells pleasant even though it is so warm. Also, it was in the evening and was a great mix of stretching, moving, and slowing down at the end of the class. I hope to stop in again!

Using a class-pass system is great since you can use them as you need to, it helps when you have a changing schedule. Lisa and the other instructors are all very knowledgeable and, more importantly for someone with my lack of coordination, very patient! They also have lots of fun classes like before or after Thanksgiving as well as way to keep you constantly challenged. The studio is very nice, very clean and always lots of fun to go to. Her ego could give the Manhattan skyline a run for its money. I left her two messages and stopped by three times with no response. On the fourth attempt, I finally caught her, and honestly, I wish I hadn't. The interaction had all the warmth of an ice storm and about as much grace as me trying to pirouette in steel-toed boots. Let's be clear: her only apparent qualification for managing a yoga/fitness studio is that she happens to own a yoga outfit. That's it. Customer service? Zero. Empathy? Nonexistent. I signed up, attended two classes, then got sick and couldn't go back. Months later, I realized my card was still being charged. I owned up to my mistake and asked if there was anything they could do. Any business with even a shred of customer service sense would've said, "We understand--let's work with you. Stick with us and we'll make it right." Instead, I got the robotic chant: "You signed a contract. You signed a contract." And just when I thought she had secured her place in the Customer Service Hall of Shame, she doubled down: "Oh, and you're responsible for next month's fee too, because we need 30 days' notice to cancel." Seriously? That's not just bad service--it's a business model built on fine print, gotchas, and arrogance. If you're looking for an uplifting, customer-oriented fitness community, look literally anywhere else. Detailed pros and cons (price was the big one) for me laid out below. It was about a year ago that I left FE but i forgot to share this at the time; note that things may have changed since I left. PRO Unlike places like Club Pilates, the waitlist works pretty well but it wasn't difficult to regularly attend the same classes without even using waitlists. There were a few classes that worked really well with a 9-5 schedule. CON The cost was significant for me for a place you can't go to outside of scheduled classes. I totally get this is cheaper than one on one training and the quality is extremely high, but when friends and family asked me how much my training classes were, every single answer I gave was met with shock. While FE staff is very friendly and easy to talk to about membership, the absolute cheapest I could make work was the longest commitment. If you come from a two-income household this would be more reasonable, but as a one-income single person, it was not sustainable for me. There were weird moments for me personally, because there were specific "bring/tell your friends" promotional weeks, but all my friends are low-paid teachers and could never afford this. When I started to have some medical expenses and more recently a new car payment, there was no way I could keep paying for this (FYI they were very kind and willing to let me out of membership early). PRO This is a very high quality training experience with kind, personable trainers who are educated, tactful, and observant about who is in their class. For every class, the trainer prepares specific weights and routines that are personalized for every single person signed up. The equipment/space provided and sanitizing expectations are great, down to the number of weights, the individual stations, and the timers. CON There were more (simple things!) instructors could have done to create community. While people were never rude to me, many times when I went to a class with an instructor for the first time (new class time/new instructor for me) -- and this includes my very first class ever -- the instructors didn't facilitate/encourage introductions to the regulars, despite knowing I was new to that class. The class then felt very cliquey, because everyone else knew each other and had inside jokes. I'm an introvert and definitely struggled with that dynamic. CON Though I arrived appropriately early, many times I found I still would be the last one to class -- to the point where everyone else had almost finished warmups. That's supposed to be the point of including the warmup in the class time! I would then be behind the others the entire workout. It's not a competition, but it was difficult to not feel that way sometimes. CON I felt that the onboarding didn't fully click with me for the progression of the sequences in a class, or maybe that was my first class's instructor's fault. I did not understand at all the A then B then interval sequence back and forth, and was extremely confused as to what to do after each one for my first two-ish weeks. This rectified itself over time but I didn't even fully understand what I didn't understand. PRO There are supplemental (mostly paid) opportunities to take advantage of, from special classes to nutrition help to various video content pieces. PRO This is a small business, and the owner is very personable and easy to talk to about membership questions or concerns throughout your time there. Even though i didn't feel intentionally welcomed by the other classgoers, the instructors themselves were all very friendly and genuine.

They were very friendly and welcoming and were able to warm up with me while they gave me a run down of the gym. That day in particular there were 5 stations at your pace but at a good pace and encouraged by instructor. It was hard to gage some of the other people, few others seemed new, a woman who they partnered me up with said she was a regular and loved it. The work out was great, unfortunately part of the particular workout is running down the strip mall sidewalk in front of the pub and back. There is a reason I choose the privacy of a gym. The equipment seemed kind of run down but still usable. The workout was great! I was sore and feeling great before it was even over. On my way out the staff had asked me to stop by the desk to officially check in. At this point they said my Groupon was good for 4 weeks and offered 3 to 4 different packages around $100+ a month. I asked if I could wait to decide once I have been there more than once and the woman at the desk said this was a 1 time offer and price would go up if I decided to sign a contract later locking me in. I was also told there is no month to month membership available. Having been to other nicer gyms that offer more amenities for same price or lower, I declined. The pressure sale is a major turnoff and will guarantee no business from me, it's not cool. I chose not to return ever. High pressure sales tactics aren't only illegal, they're bad for business.
