Hanging upside down is like an inversion table stretching the spine and gently aligning vertebrae. Hanging by my arms really opens my chest area. All of these will help my running form.

The building housing the studio is quite large and contains several businesses within it's walls. Don't be tempted by the main door for the building, the studio has it's own door on the north side. Upon entering there's seating, clothing to peruse, free tea, malas, and natural deodorant. Bonus: there's a really funny book on men doing yoga in kilts. You really could spend a whole afternoon here. I checked in with Rose at the front desk, completed my waiver and stowed my belongings in the little cubbies near the changing rooms. The class room itself is just beautiful. Wooden floor, lots of windows, a small stage, and calming artwork. The acoustics are also good. Rose played some sweet jams which set a fun tone for class. Despite years of being upside down (gymnastics, acro yoga, etc.) I felt a bit like a baby horse in this class. Turns out silks don't come naturally to me at all. No worries tho, Rose was there for the rescue. She offered a variety of modifications for how to get into and out of the silks and poses. Classmates were friendly and didn't laugh despite my grunts of discomfort (who knew there'd be a surprise facial release where the silks supported my body). I'll definitely be coming back to check out more of their offerings.

She's a challenging instructor (somehow convinced me to hop into crow during my first vinyasa class in a year!) but always reminds and encourages students to respect their body's limitations and offers modifications to prevent injury. Naturally warm and familiar, she fosters a real sense of ease and connection at the studio. I will say that the location leaves something to be desired--ImHere is in Elevate Fitness which is inside a warehouse, next to a welding company, inside a business park. Still, I'll continue to make my way out there because the classes are wonderful.

I particularly like the vinyasa classes, which at different times emphasize stretching, balancing, and/or core fitness -- and always focus on good breathing techniques. I continue to learn and improve in my practice (but still have a long way to go) and am grateful to be a part of a this wonderful yoga community. Definitely deserves five stars.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this yoga studio…read more I was initially excited to find a studio close to home that offered a welcoming community and a schedule that worked well for me. However, my experience with one of the managers, Kyle Donovan, ultimately led me to cancel my membership. When I reached out to inquire about a possible teacher discount and whether I could pause my membership during three weeks of travel in June, I was instead offered the option to clean the studio for 8-9 hours per month in exchange for my membership fee being waived. After doing the math, this arrangement would have resulted in compensation well below minimum wage. I shared this concern, but it did not seem to be taken seriously, which was disappointing. Additionally, I was told that my daughter could no longer sit quietly in the front room during classes, despite this having previously been allowed by multiple instructors. When I asked about a potential child membership option, I was told it was an "interesting idea," but no alternative solution was offered. While I want to note that most of the instructors are excellent and create a positive experience in class, my interaction with management left me feeling undervalued as a customer. Because of this, I have decided not to continue my membership.

I've been going for a few weeks and I seriously look forward to going!
