I'm so glad I found Club Pilates and Lo! My fiancé and I have now done four semi-private sessions with her, and she has been amazing every single time. Lo took the time to get to know us and understand our goals, and she has never made us feel bad for not knowing how to do something. She explains everything so well, is patient, and always makes us laugh. We look forward to every session because of her! I also have a crazy work schedule, and both Lo and the manager, Sabrina, have been so accommodating with scheduling our sessions. We've had such a great experience that we plan to continue our semi-private sessions. If you're thinking about trying Club Pilates, I highly recommend Lo - you won't be disappointed! read more

I became a member of Club Pilates over a year ago, starting at their Lakewood location. Compared to other studios, the Bixby location is super small and crowded. The instructors are hit or miss. The reason I don't recommend Club Pilates is because I am set to undergo a medical procedure that will prevent me from working out for over a month. I requested a freeze 10 days prior to my procedure in writing and with the physician's note and they still charge my account the full amount. They refused to give me a refund and advised my membership would be there when I got back. I told them that I wanted to cancel my membership and requested a refund which they said they would not be able to do a refund if I canceled. So regardless, they will keep your money. Oh and they basically blamed me for the charge since I knew when my billing cycle is and I didn't request the hold to be placed on that day. I was under the impression I would just be charged the 3 days I would be able to use my membership vs the whole month. read more

Sabrina needs to be trained in her role. I signed up at Bixby Knolls over the phone because they had the best new-member offer at the time and waived enrollment. Later, I learned about their "Heroes" discount for teachers and nurses where enrollment is waived AND you receive 10% off monthly dues. That was my first indication that this studio is inconsistent with how they treat members. My first major issue was with their referral program. All of the literature says referrals earn a $100 credit. When I referred someone, I was only given $50 because they decided to split the credit between me and the person I referred. How is that a referral credit? Meanwhile, I referred another friend to Club Pilates West Torrance and received the full $100 credit to use at Bixby Knolls with no issue. About two months into my membership, the manager called me offering a one-year membership for $2400 if paid in full. When I called back to accept, she contacted me 20 minutes later and said she could no longer honor the offer. I escalated the issue to the regional manager, Cameron, who was not helpful at all. He refused to honor the offer. The only thing he somewhat assisted with was allowing me to cancel with 28 days' notice instead of 30 and helping me join another studio he manages with a new three-month commitment. They also refused to transfer my unused $150 credit to another studio. My third issue involved merchandise. I saw beautiful purple straps at West Torrance and explained that I still had a credit at Bixby Knolls. West Torrance generously offered to contact Bixby and arrange a transfer. When I spoke to Sabrina at Bixby, she told me transfers were not possible and that I could only use my credit there. Somehow, West Torrance managed to make it happen anyway, and I was finally able to use my credit and get the straps. I don't mind that this studio is about the size of a large walk-in closet. What I do mind is management that consistently refuses to help customers and applies policies inconsistently depending on who you talk to. This location is closest to my home, but after these experiences, I'll be avoiding it as much as possible once I finish using the rest of my credit. read more

I took a free class recently and they require grip socks. You can buy some at their facility, but you're going to end up paying close to $20 for a pair. I bought mine at TJ Maxx for $6.99 for two pairs. The waiting room isn't very big, but their bathroom is spacious and clean. I was looking to sign up, but the 8 session price was the same price I paid for a monthly ______ pass. The staff was excellent though and they do put you to work. If you want quick results, then this might be for you. read more

Thursday my favorite flight attendant convinced me to attend a beginner's Pilates class with her at Club Pilates. I haven't taken a Pilates class in about 2 years, & when I tell you that beginner's class humbled me... it humbled me. It worked muscles I forgot existed & stretched parts of my body that have probably never been stretched before. I was definitely a little sore walking out, but we had such a good time. The instructor was amazing, the studio was super clean, & the temperature inside was nice & the music was perfect. The machines were in pristine condition too. They also had a bunch of other gadgets around the studio like wall boards and stretch machines. I'm definitely just making up names for some of that equipment because I know they have real names... I just don't remember them. The pricing was pretty reasonable. One of the options was about $129 for 4 classes, which works out to about once a week. They also had another that was around $229 for 8 classes, basically 2 classes a week. We really enjoyed ourselves & I'm glad she convinced me to go. I would definitely come back to this location again, & I'm seriously considering signing up for the 4 classes for $129. Definitely recommend! read more

I've started to come to this location to do Pilates. Tracy at the front desk is very kind and knowledgeable. I've only taken classes with Amanda and so far she's been great. The location is new and very clean. Will eventually venture out to other locations but the Bixby Knolls location is great and they have parking. It is a small lot but there's also street parking. There's about 12 people a class if it is full. read more

This place is unethical!! I joined when I was under doctor's order not to exercise. I called before I joined explaining my situation. I was told that my account wouldn't be charged again until I used my first 30 day payment after I called to start. I haven't been one day but have been charged for 2 months. I have reached out to the owners with no response. The employee lied to me and said that I wouldn't have to do anything but call when I was ready to activate. Do not go here!!! I've been going to Club Pilates and have had a great experience. The studio is always clean and welcoming. I highly recommend Alyssa and Lena--they really know what they're doing. Both instructors provide accommodations when needed and are great about modifying routines to fit different levels. They're supportive, knowledgeable, and make each class feel effective and safe. 1 star for the ladies in reception. 1 star for Th location. Let me explain. My husband and I signed up for the intro class. We were both super excited to learn about Pilates. Checking in was a breeze. The ladies in reception were very nice and helpful. The space is clean and temp controlled. It's new. Now, let's get to the intro class. It's not an intro to anything. The intro class was given by Zena. We came into the room. She instructed us to put our Pilates socks on and have a seat on the reformer. Her tone was very sharp; borderline aggressive with a side of dryness The class starts; right into exercises. Why? Only 2 out of the 8 people in class had ever even heard of or seen a Pilates reformer. There was no explanation. Straight into it. Ok, here we go. She has us go through several exercises. No corrections. I felt so clueless and with her tone of voice I thought yeah this ain't it! The class ended. She says any questions before they come in here to talk about pricing. 1 person asked a question and boom here come the ladies from reception with the spill and ready to sign you up. What?! Where's the intro to Pilates?! I don't even know what I just experienced. We both looked at each other and shook our heads. One of the ladies came to us from reception so we decided to try to ask her questions. She referred us back to Zena. We walked out to the reception and here comes Zena with her tone saying "not today right?". We replied "no." We were underwhelmed and uninformed so we couldn't possibly think about signing up. I'm going to try again but maybe after a few months. Maybe things will be different. Until then, I'll try other Pilates studios. read more

Lo is truly one of the best Pilates instructors I've ever had. She brings so much knowledge, intention, and positive energy to every single class. Her cues are clear, thoughtful, and empowering, and she somehow manages to challenge you while still making you feel supported and confident in your body. I always leave her classes feeling stronger, more aligned, and refreshed both physically and mentally. She creates such a welcoming environment and genuinely cares about her students' progress. I usually only feel compelled to leave a review when something goes wrong, so this time I wanted to make an effort when something went right! Initially, I was hesitant to try the free trial after reading the review below with instructor Zena in that made me second-guess it. Pilates is new to me, and since I recently had a C-section, I was nervous about how it would go. But I ended up having a different instructor than the one mentioned in that review, and she was fantastic very personal, patient, and thorough in her explanations. I also lucked out because there were only three of us in the class, which made the experience feel more personalized. The workout itself was exactly what I needed in this season of my life, and everyone there was kind and welcoming. I decided to sign up afterward. One thing to note: the advertised 20% off promotion doesn't apply to the 4-classes-per-month plan It only applies to the 8-classes-per-month option. Let me start by saying the customer service by Sabrina horrible and she's the GM. I called in to make some changes to my membership and she said she could do anything. I started with cancellation no because I have no medical issue so ladies think about it a lot you won't be able to cancel. 2nd I asked about pausing my membership and I was informed I would have to wait 15 days and I would still have to pay my regular fee ridiculous. I kindly asked her as the GM if she could try her best to help and see if I go to the 8 class promotion and was told NO what she could do was the regular monthly fee of 230 something or around and give me a professional doctor discount. I already have the unlimited why would I go to the regular ridiculous of her to even offer that. I asked again and she said she couldn't do anything. Well let me tell you as a new homeowner I believe a mortgage is more important than paying a fee for a club that only thinks about getting their pockets full of $.
