I've had the Club Pilates passport membership for a while now so I've had the opportunity to go to many studios, primarily across the Bay Area. This Rockridge location is definitely at the top of my list! I usually find 1-2 instructors at each location I like and strictly book their classes, but in my first 4 classes here I've been led by Melissa, Holly, and Elisabeth - I can't compliment them enough! They are so professional, incredibly knowledgeable, aware of the entire class, have great energy, and their class flow for both 1 and 1.5 just make sense. The studio itself is also extremely clean, no smells, pretty large selection of clothes/socks, and the front desk is super friendly. I've been a member of Club Pilates for about 1.5 years. It's such an inclusive studio and you have people of all ages/sizes/abilities attending class in a supportive environment. If you're injured or need a modification, the instructors are quick to offer alternatives. If a movement is unfamiliar or new, they break it down and help you out. I've never felt out of place asking a question. Classes are different and each day is a new challenge. Every instructor is truly great but the instructors I've worked with most are: Jesse-leads the morning classes and always challenging. I appreciate his energy at 6am. I don't know how he does it! Holly-love her Friday classes and I walk away learning something new Kyleata-challenges you each time and appreciate her focus on something new to learn/progress each month. Havanna- pushed me to get level 2 certified and her classes flow together so well Disco- great energy, thoroughly explains each movement and pushes you to be your best The classes do fill up quickly so highly recommend booking in advance. There is a waitlist for full classes and more often than not I am able to get into classes the night before. If you're questioning if you can/should attend a pilates class, the answer is always yes! After doing private Pilates for over 8 years to help manage a chronic illness, I finally decided to try group classes. Even though I *ideally* always want to support small businesses as opposed to a chain, I appreciate so many things about this studio. It's super clean, offers a wide variety of classes and equipment, has wonderful and friendly staff, and it's made my transition to group Pilates seamless. After my intro class with Disco, I knew I was in the right place and signed up for the unlimited membership right away. Since I started 9 weeks ago, I've taken 45 classes!!! Benjamin, the manager, is super receptive and helpful, but, truly, everyone here is equally attentive. I had my intro session at the Rockridge Club yesterday and couldn't be happier with the experience. Disco is a fantastic instructor--she walked me through each Reformer exercise with care, adjusted my posture when needed, and offered just the right amount of encouragement to keep me motivated and make the workout genuinely enjoyable. I just went to my Intro class at Club Pilates Rockridge, and I can't say enough good things--especially about Gabby, the instructor. As someone completely new to Pilates, I walked in a little nervous, unsure of how I'd keep up or if I'd even enjoy it. But Gabby changed that almost immediately. What really stood out was her attention to breathing techniques. She didn't just guide us through the moves--she explained why and when to breathe in each position on the reformer machine. It made such a difference in how I connected with the movements and felt more in control of my body. I've never been taught to breathe intentionally like that in any other workout class, and it completely elevated the experience. By the end of the session, I felt energized, supported, and--most importantly--confident. Gabby's calm, encouraging vibe helped me believe I can do this. For the first time, I'm genuinely excited to start my Pilates journey. I'm very new to working out and had never taken a fitness class before due to some personal mental barriers, but the staff at Club Pilates Rockridge made me feel so welcomed from the start. A lot of classes for every level. It's nice that some classes blend other equipment and workouts (I.e. barre, TRX, etc.). The only potential drawback, if you're not familiar, is that there is only one class room, so you may not get your class in your desired timeslot, but if you have a very flexible schedule, it should work out for you! It's now been over a year I have been doing Pilates. I had moved to the new club Pilates in Union City because it's closer to my house. It is important to get a one and one session in the beginning that helps going forward. Pilates has been an amazing journey for me and it's now part of my daily routine. I have no knee pain or back pain which I originally had before going into Pilates. I look forward to my classes. I go every day Monday through Friday and always feel refreshed and energized. This review is long overdue. I joined Club Pilates Rockridge in June 2023 right when they opened, and it really is working for me. I love each and every one of the awesome instructors, the kind front desk staffers, and my fellow members. These classes are seriously hard work, but you can feel the difference in your body after just a couple weeks. My posture is better, my core strength is improving, and I'm able to do things in class now that were well beyond my ability level when I started. It's a commitment! TLDR: I have been a Club Pilates member for about 3 months, and I have the 4 classes a week package. I think the instructors are amazing and the space is great, but the enrollment and the waitlist system takes a while to understand. This was my first reformer Pilates studio, so I cannot speak on the costs, but the convenience and flexibility makes it worth it for me. I started Club Pilates back in January. While my intro class felt awkward and I didn't particularly care for that instructor, I still wanted to explore and join. The first month, I got to experience great instructors like Holly, Erika and Lyric. My particular favorite is Jesse, who takes the time to explain why you are going through the moves, will adjust if you need it but is rather gentle about any mistakes, and makes it feel more about how you use your body to help you rather than a regular exercise class. I really think that even if one instructor doesn't fit your style/helps you with your journey, you will find one that you particularly like and want to go back to. I have the 4 classes a week package. With this package, I feel like I am able to schedule the classes I want and do not feel like I am missing anything. I am not sure how it is with bigger plans. You do need to book classes in advance, and if you switch them, most likely you will end up on the waitlist. I will say that I have gotten off of most waitlists that I've joined, but it might be day of the class so make sure you are actually free. I haven't had a huge issue with this, and when I've had to late cancel due to illness and emergencies, Club Pilates staff were super understanding and gave me my credit back. Overall, the staff and the instructors are amazing. The studio is small, so it makes sense that there are not a lot of spots at one time. I think the small classes and one studio space makes the space more comfortable to be at, rather than a huge daunting studio filled with lots of people. There is not a lot of parking right next to the studio, so do come 5 minutes early to find parking. There is residential parking nearby within a 5 minute walk, so it's not a crazy issue. With reformer Pilates, I've definitely felt a difference. I'm much stronger in my upper body than before, and it allows me to improve on my other exercise goals like running and hiking. If you live in the Oakland area and are looking for a comfortable start to your Pilates journey, I highly recommend the Rockridge studio. read more

I immediately felt really comfortable walking into the studio, the front desk staff was really nice and even the people leaving from their previous class we really nice. Comfort is a big deal to me and first impressions mean so much. Dominique was the instructor and I really liked her. I've been going to this Club Pilates for six or seven months now and have had a variety of good instructors. My favorites are Meera and Jesse, they are both exceptionally knowledgeable and excellent trainers! The place is clean, quiet and organized. All the Front Desk folks are pleasant and accommodating when you need help but their online booking system makes it easy to get classes that work for you without having help from the front desk most of the time.. I'm really happy I found this place. It is conveniently located and, generally, parking is easy. This type of Pilates is accessible and doable for a Senior like myself while also being challenging for younger folks. They also have levels where you can move up in difficulty as you get better at the lower levels. I was so excited to be able to move up a level, it was challenging and yet doable for me.
