This was my first time here at Club Pilates, and first time trying Pilates, a friend had mentioned about the studio and decided to check out their website. If you are a first timer you're able to book a free class I decided to give it a try, the studio is nice and it has everything you need. Basically, resistance stretching with your own space and equipment. About 8 people max, per class. Yeah! My Aspire Medicare supplement covers costs, 4x per month. Instructors are attentive to all clients. I am an older gentleman and I appreciate the occasional correction on my form and/or a 'good job' now and again. Equipment feels new, reformers are very well maintained. I've been doing Pilates on&off for three years. This is the first studio that offers class-times that suit my schedule every day. I've been a member since February 8, 2023 with a one year membership. it's pricey and I travel a lot so I wasn't sure how it would work out for me. They let you freeze your membership if you're gone two weeks or more and I did take advantage of that. There's a $20 per month fee to do that. because of all my freezes (totaling 6 months) I am just coming to the end of my annual membership In August 2024. I will have taken 148 classes during that membership period, so that's about 3 classes per week at about $21 per class, which includes the freeze fees. That's definitely worth the cost of the annual fee. my favorite teacher has been Karolina. I highly recommend her for intermediate and advanced classes. She's out on maternity leave now and I hope she returns. Her classes are impossible to get into if you dont plan ahead. But if you sign up as soon as the schedule comes out you'll be ok. I've been trying other instructors while she's out and have found a couple that I'll keep coming back to. I will sign up for another year, if the freeze policy is still in effect. read more

I attended Club Pilates from 2022 to 2023 and had a very mixed experience in that time. Here's what I loved: Lesa and Karolina were by far the best instructors. The studio was clean with several reformers and loads of additional equipment (including TRX). The multiple reformers allowed for usually getting into the classes and times I wanted as long as I planned ahead. Ample parking. Great variation in each class I attended. Here's what I didn't care for: Drama between the front desk and the instructors including getting rid of instructors with no explanation. Frantically trying to replace instructors and sometimes they didn't show up. Drama with the clients and the instructors. One teacher told me I was breathing too loud and it annoyed her. The owner of the PG location lives in LA and doesn't appear to have great management here. They have had to close and reopen several times. It's a shame such a great studio cannot seem to get their act together to have a fabulous, much needed pilates community. read more

Love this place! The workouts are balanced, challenging, and freaking fun. Don't be afraid about the intensity, springs can be adjusted to your strength and comfort level. All the workouts will help you build strength all around but more importantly they will help you build a stronger core and build endurance. read more

I've been living a sedentary lifestyle for the past decade and have been itching to find a routine back into a more active lifestyle...TBH I thought pilates would be a bore and not challenging but both Lessa and Karollina are great. They have their own different styles so it's nice to get a change between the two but they both share the same passion to helping us build a more healthy and active lifestyle. Not only do I find myself by attending the classes but both Lessa and Karollina instilled in me that pilates is a lifestyle and that we can incorporate into our daily activities. The classes range from young adults to geriatrics and they're both great at accommodating to the different clientele. There was a day where the class was full but Lessa accommodated by having me do substitution workouts which I think gave me a better workout than on the reformer. Karollina knows I've been trying to grow a booty so she's been purposefully incorporating glute exercises everytime she sees me in her class. I was initially going to just do a one month trial since I needed to move to another city but because of Club Pilates at PG, I will have to extend my stay for another month! read more

I went to a free introductory class this past October. I was greeted by the owner Ashlynne. she is warm, welcoming, and friendly. the studio has 12 (!) reformers in two rows facing each other. the instructor, Lesa, is enthusiastic, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I was instantly hooked. I, and most everyone in the free intro class, signed up for classes immediately. the reformers are spaced in a way allowing enough room for each person. the equipment is plentiful, allowing for a variety of different exercises. the studio is very clean. Signing up for classes is online or in person and quite easy. I have been going to classes since October and just love it! read more

THIS PLACE IS AKIN TO A SCAM. AVOID AT ALL COST. It's not entirely a scam as they do have a facility and coaches. It's akin to a scam because they make it impossible to cancel your membership. I joined in 2021 and in Jan 2022 they suddenly cut their class schedule in half without prior notice: without any classes on Thur afternoons, entire Fridays and Saturdays. As I can only go on Fridays and Saturdays, I emailed them saying I wanted to cancel my membership. No one responded after three emails. I tried to call them before and after scheduled classes, no one picked up the phone. I left voice messages multiple times and no one returned my call. I went to their office three weeks ago. The coach told me "due to change of management" they are unable to cancel the membership themselves, and they'd contact "corporate" for me. She gave a number to me to reach out to as well. Nothing happened ever since. The number given to me is a personal number and that person did not return my texts or calls. All the meanwhile they keep billing me for membership dues. I cancelled my credit card and they are now billing me for late fees. I cannot find corporate contact info for Club Pilates other than the ones for this local studio which are useless. This makes wonder if Club Pilates' business model is based on such unethical practice: get you sign up, make it impossible to cancel, and accumulate a fat bill and sell it to collection. I'm seeing similar grievances are piling up here, so to everyone who might be reading: We need to file complaints to California Department of Consumer Affairs and the FTC. Keep all of our communications of attempts to cancel our memberships. Be prepared to go to court if one day you get a bill of $3000 from a collection agency. read more

I went on their open house and met the owner, she was so nice. And the general manager. By being one of the first 50 people to sign up, I got 20% off my membership. There is no sign-up fee. You can cancel at any time. And if I want to downgrade to the eight classes a month. I can no questions asked. The only commitment they ask for is for three months. I can't wait to start! The new instructor Lesa is very knowledgeable and showed me very useful stretches to help with my back and posture. I am OBSESSED. I havent done pilates in over 10 years and am definitely out of shape so I decided to try out the free intro class. Love the energy and vibe of this place. The instructor Lisa was so nice and slowed things down and took the time to explain each work out. I felt absolutely amazing after our 30 minute intro and immediately signed up for the 4x month membership. !!!! Worst Customer Service Ever !!!! Be warned of this Pilates Gym enticing you to join their club thinking you will have an awesome experience when in fact they are just taking you money. They keep making unauthorized charges to my credit card. No one returns your calls or replies to emails. I joined this gym on November 6 , 2021 after joining a 1 hr free trial class headed by Stephanie. I enrolled for $89 class ( 4 pilates classes ) and agreed that there will be 30 days cancelation request upon enrollment. Stephanie even told me that just in case I could not make it into class if I am sick, I can call an hour before and they should be able to credit the class back to my account. There was one day where I was not feeling well so I kept calling the gym telling them I could not come because I was sick, however the class was never credit back to my account. I left a voice message but no one got back to me. On November 27, 2021 I emailed Stephanie that I want to cancel my membership because I am moving due to work. She emailed me saying that there was a 30 days cancellation request which I am aware of and will be willing to pay another months membership despite the fact that I'm not able to use them anymore. I called and left voice message for them to contact me because I had a few questions. I called twice still no reply. I was sent an email reagrding Payment Attempt Failure the following dates December 6,7,8,9,10,11, 12 of 2021 and January 6,7,8,16,17,18,20,21,23,25 of 2022. This email said they tried to run the scheduled payment but unfortunately the charge could not be processed and $20.00 for Late Fee was charged to my credit card. That is unacceptable because I never removed my payment info on my profile and now they want to charge me with $20 along with $89 for not paying my dues? On January 18, 2022 I emailed them again regarding this email I am receiving that I have overdue payment. I politely said in this email to get back to me at their earliest convenience. Aside from that I left a voice message. But to my dismay no one got back to me. On January 29, 2022 my credit card was charged twice. 2 charges of $89 and 2 charges of $20. They charged me $ 218 for no reason. Despite my efforts to contact Club Pilates Pacific Groove regarding the charges no one has ever gotten back to me! It is now February 4, 2022 but still no response from Club Pilates Pacific Groove. I am hoping that by writing this they will be able to take care and resolve my concerns. I joined the Club Pilates in PG 2 months ago and absolutely love it! Everybody from studio manager to instructors and students are very nice. You feel like a part of a community. The instructors Karolina and Lesa are fantastic - true professionals, attentive and supportive. I was amazed how quickly I got acclimated considering the 3 years of pandemic inactivity. I am a passport member which means I can take classes anywhere in the US. As a franchise, CP instruction should be fairly consistent but individual instructors can make or break a great class. Pilates is a precision process to make sure you're working the muscles correctly to gain effective toning and strength. At Pacific Grove, there has been much turnover of management and teaching staff. The current iteration of instructors (2021) are inconsistent with instructions. One expects that Pilates instruction would be as precise as possible. Correction would be given in a manner in which could be received and followed. Be careful at PG. you may not find either. read more

Unfortunately, I can not give Club Pilates a good review. I love Pilates and enjoyed going frequently in 2019 and 2020. Due to the pandemic I decided to put my membership on hold In fall of 2021. The club was closed for a period of time and changed management. When I put my membership on hold I was told in an email this would be possible until things turned around. All was fine until December 2021. A charge for full membership $159 was billed to my card on file. I did not receive any communication that I would be billed. In January I got my credit card bill with charges for Dec and January. I started email and calling every other day to get an answer and cancel my account. I did not receive any communication or return call or emails. Now I'm getting another months charges with late fees. I visited the studio 3 times as I was told to do by the billing department. No one at the studio could do anything to help. The computer is down, my information was taken on paper. Good I thought. Now I will get somewhere. Still no response. The billing department could not help at all or give me any information on how to resolve issue, yet they have no problem taking money.I had to threaten legal action and report fraudulent activity on my credit card. Finally 3 months later and $500 I was able to cancel my account. Will not be going back due to poor management from owner! I see other Yelp reviews similar to mine. Buyer beware. I used to come here a lot before quarantine and always had a great experience. I think ownership may have changed during that time and I was charged even when the studio was closed multiple times and had to call them multiple times to make sure they refunded me my membership charge. Last month I noticed now I was receiving a frozen account charge that I was never notified about and after multiple calls and email to clear it up I finally went to the location to see it was TEMPORARILY CLOSED?? I am frustrated how much I have had to contact them about it and being completely ignored. I even tried to call other club pilates to try to get to the bottom of it all but have had no luck. I joined Club Pilates 10 weeks ago after having a hip replacement 1 1/2 years ago and needing to get back at it. In the last 4 weeks playing golf I have added 30 yards to my drives because of increasing core strength and flexibility. I had previously been taking Pilates in the bay area for 14 years and am now living in Pacific Grove. Our instructor Lisa really knows what she is doing and the reformers/workout equipment are top notch. They even have a golf class. LOVE this place!! I come here at least 4x a times. And sometimes do doubles! Iv gone all over the area for pilates and I have to say, Club Pilates has way more classes to choose from. And more times are available. Lots of other pilates studios only offer 4/5 classes a day and that is not ideal if your someone who is busy all the time.
