Club Pilates (CP) is an awesome place to practice reformer-based pilates! Before joining, I had experience with mat pilates, so I was excited to try something new. I like that Club Pilates offers an introductory class since it equips you with the basics and familiarizes you with the equipment and movements. Once you finish the 30-minute introductory class, it's recommended to take 5-10 CP Reformer Flow 1 classes before leveling up. I've taken four classes so far, all with different instructors, and I like that each class is unique and incorporates moves that I'm familiar with and ones that are new to me. The Midtown location is a smaller studio, so it may be more competitive to get into classes, but there's always a waitlist available. I'm planning to level up at the end of this month and look forward to every class! read more

Have been a Club Pilates member for a little over a year now and I am so grateful to have found this studio! Kayla is my favorite instructor and Andrea (the manager) is so sweet! I am currently in my second trimester of pregnancy and Kayla has been amazing with giving me modifications so I can get a great workout in. She is phenomenal with her instruction; she is very clear with her direction and demos. She is intuitive with providing adjustments during class without interrupting the flow. I always try to sign up for her classes! Andrea is also a great manager. She was always understanding when I needed to reschedule classes due to morning sickness. I recently started taking Jacquelyn's classes on Wednesday nights, and I absolutely love them! The music was perfect--loved the Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, and Tate McRae add-ins, plus how she turns up the music while you're jumping. She's got this authentic sweetness--paired with a blunt sincerity that is so refreshing, creating a fantastic workout while paying attention to form and ensuring the use of the correct muscles to avoid injury. She also consistently asks for consent before touching me, which is incredibly meaningful to me. I've also taken her regular Reformer Flow class, and she added a little something extra at the end that made it even better. She's got this laid-back, down-to-earth energy that makes classes fun, but don't be fooled--she'll have you sweating and smiling the whole time. If you're looking for a stellar workout, I highly recommend taking one of her classes or doubling up with a Reformer Flow followed by the cardio class! If she had more classes in the evening or on weekends, I'd totally be there. read more

I came in today with a friend to try Pilates for the first time. I had spoken the a fay ago with Monica, the store manager, who discussed what to expect and was so kind and helpful! When we arrived, we were greeted immediately by Monica with a warm smile and infectious personality. She calmed our nervousness and helped get us situated for our class. We took a class with Hanadi, and as promised, she was great! I like that she is patient but also firm and truly wants you to learn how to do each move correctly! I signed up for my first class, front desk person said I should go up to a normal class and pay the $30 (fair fine). I then went there and as soon as I got into the class I felt super uncomfortable. No one was friendly at all to me, super rude and felt entitled. The instructor then said I should've started with the free class (even though the front desk insisted I go to a normal class) immediately saying I may not know the moves and it'll be difficult (not helping me in the slightest). No one greeted me at the start or said goodbye. I have now joined CycleBar for my exercise and I can safely say their community is 110% nicer and more inclusive. read more

I'm addicted. I feel so flexible and somehow my body feels longer after every class. Only 3 sessions so far and I can tell a difference in my mobility and strength. The only instructor I've had so far is Nicholas Denty and he's pretty dang awesome. He provides constant feedback during the class, his instruction is quick but easy to understand, and he's great at answering questions or helping people get their poses right. Midtown studio was my 1st choice but I opted to attend the studio closer to my work when I first tried Club Pilates but the sales pressure from that studio was insane. There was absolutely no pressure at Midtown & I loved that. The instructors don't make me feel "dumb" for asking questions (that they probably get asked all the time) & are motivational. I started with 8 class package for the month but used it within 2 weeks & upgraded to unlimited. Studio is clean & smells delicious. First time going - I use ClassPass so it gives my busy schedule time to take classes as I have time. Gave this a shot, and I will be back! My instructor (sorry I forgot her name but she taught the Reformer 1 Class) was super helpful and nice. It was my first time in this type of a class, so even as a total noob she was patient and instructive. Oh and the class I took was small, so it felt more personal and much more involved. The studio is also very clean, great exercise tools and machinery, and awesome staff. Oh, and did I mention if you check in on Yelp you get 10% off those super cool grippy toe socks?! Billing department is a nightmare! They do not respond to emails. Initially tried to cancel via email. They never responded and continued to charge me. When I called the manager, she stated since she started recently it was not her issue and I was still to be charged. Then I just received a statement stating that I owed money after cancelling the account and the letter threatened late fee charges if not paid. I will be writing to the Better Business Bureau as well. I do not like to give negative feedback but it is obvious managers only care about their commission here. Street Parking. Metered in front of the building. Cubby shelving to keep your belongings in. You work out barefoot or in toe socks. These Reformer Pilates are a low impact workout.. Strengthening with resistance! It's especially great, I would think, if you have any injuries to which the instructors make modifications for you. I had never taken pilates much less a reformer class so I didn't know what to expect. It turns out it's getting used to the equipment and following instruction. It's a change of pace for me since I'm always GO GO GO. This was more of a focused workout with not a ton of reps and it's been pretty good. It's like a lazy but smart workout. When I signed up, I got a username and password for their website. Their website will explain what each class is. I'm a beginner so I went with the Reformer 1 classes and it progresses to 1.5, 2, etc. You have to sign up for the class prior to going. It's an hour long. There's only room for 12. I don't know what the reasoning is behind class times. I kinda wish it was consistent like I can count on a Reformer 1 class at 7am instead of one day it's 6, another 7, or 9:30.. It's a nice little studio. At the end of each class, you grab a spray bottle and a washcloth and wipe down everything you used. I like places that have these hygienic processes.. If classes isn't your bag, they also offer private training as well. read more

I would leave no stars if I could. This is not about the classes, it's about the billing department. I closed my account in January. In May, they decided to charge me for my full membership without telling me. When I complained, they cancelled it, but not without adding $50 in fees because of the payment that they added without my consent. It it now June and I am still getting calls from their billing department over a balance that my account should not have. They refuse to close my account. Unless you are planning on keeping the membership until death, apparently, there is no way out of it. They will call and harass you. I would not recommend this service to anyone. It's a shame because I enjoyed the classes, but they are such a billing nightmare that it's better to take your business elsewhere. read more

I had been going to a personal Pilates trainer which was very expensive and not flexible for scheduling. I decided to try Club Pilates with hesitation because of the large business that it had become. I have been there for over a year now. I absolutely love it! The scheduling is convenient with the different levels offered each day and at different times. They also offer different types of classes that I love, especially the restore class. The instructors are all very well trained and nice. There is no feeling of being judged of your level, and they help all of us with kindness. I feel very strong, flexible and it also makes me feel calm and relaxed. Also a bonus... the clientele are all so nice and it is a little family feel. I highly recommend!!! read more

I know that there is a poor review about this studio in regards to harassment. I was the victim of said instance and it was posted by an acquaintance of mine because an absolute jerk named Nicholas Denty called me, and even my kids, all sorted of names because I corrected his grammar on a facebook comment. But upon speaking with the studio, HE NO LONGER WORKS THERE and has not for over a year. I contacted the studio directly and they were great about listening to my concerns and speaking to me even though the offender is no longer an employee. They were very kind and understanding and fully sympathetic to my situation. My co-worker is a huge fan of pilates so I decided to buy the groupon when I saw there was a pilates reformer class in Sac. I noticed they had a 5:30 pm class on Friday so I figured if I rushed home from work changed and headed over there I would make it by 5:30pm. It said it was a level 2 class and being completely new to pilates I had no idea what that meant but coming from an exercise background I figured I would be able to try it out. I do a lot of cycling, tennis, weight training, yoga etc. Whenever I've gone to yoga classes I know they tend to offer modification so I figured it would be the same for level 2. So I arrive around 5:25 pm and told the instructor that I never done pilates or dance ( I've done zumba and some hip hop but not seriously and always as part of gym classes.) Then he explains to me that he cannot let me into the class because level 2 would be too advance for me and he wanted to make sure I would be safe while doing pilates. So annoyed that I drove to midtown I just went back home after this. I understand where the instructor is coming from since it is very important to have good form but I wish they would put it on their website or something that they will not let beginners do level 2, if I had know I could have saved a trip midtown. Fast forward a couple weeks, I decided to check out the Saturday morning class. From my experience with using groupon I personally think it is easier to just go to the studio for the first time let them enter me into their system with my groupon code and then start signing up online at least that tends to be how it is whenever I've used groupon for other deals in the past. I arrive at 9 am ( I know I was cutting it close) and yes I know on the groupon fine print they tend to say arrive 15 minutes early but that seems generic and they put that on everything so I figured it didn't really matter. When I arrived I realized they started class early because they instructor went off who signed up online and since all the people who signed up online was there they started a little earlier. So the instructor eventually lets me into the class but I am already behind because I had to fill out some paperwork that took time away. So I do a quick little warm up that the instructor helped me through and I do the pilates routine with the rest of the class. The overall reformers class is not bad, personally I thought I was going to get a much harder workout but I do realize that this is my first time so I was still in the process of figuring out the equipment and how to use it properly. The instructor did instruct everyone on what exercises to do and he did focus on form which is good, he came over to me a couple times to help me out and correct my form. After class he apologized for singling me out in front of the class because I arrived at 9 and they started a little earlier and explained his reasoning for everything. Don't get me wrong, no one there was malicious or mean and I appreciate the instructor explaining the reasoning for everything so I would have a better understanding of the rules, policies and how the studio works. Since I did buy a groupon I will be back at least a couple more times to try it out. Right now I am not a huge fan of it or my experience with it but I hope that will change. Everyone else seems to love this studio so I am hoping my experiences with the studio so far is not the norm. Take away message: - If you are planning on showing up to any class register online first because they do not have a receptionist in the studio and maybe they wont start earlier if they know you are coming. - If you are a beginner to pilates like me do not go to the level 2 class because they will turn you away if you have never done pilates before and do not have a dance background. read more

So happy to have found a friendly neighborhood workout place in midtown. This place is not pretentious like some of the places in midtown. There is a welcoming feel due to the friendliness of the staff. The teachers are pros and understand how the body works being very mindful of your known injuries and how to prevent injury. They are very detailed in their instruction helping you do the exercises with the correct form to get the most out of your class. There is a limit to the number of students so you are encouraged to book in advance but that allows you a very personal experience almost like having your own personal trainer. They are polite in providing assistance with adjustments if they see you doing it wrong. Pilates reformer is the best and I have seen more improvement in my body form over a short time. It goes to show you that you don't need to go to a kick butt place like hot Pilates to develop a strong core and slim down your body. read more

Pilates, it's not just for women...seriously. Pilates is good for anybody with a body that wants their muscles massaged from the inside out. Increasing muscle strength, length and control, pilates is like physical therapy but much cheaper. There are not many pilates classes around with this format, which reduces the cost to $17 per class. If you did one on one training it would be $60-80 per session. Pilates is ideal for athletes of any sport, or even just the sport of life, because it is always complimentary and always helpful. I have found pilates is very complimentary to Yoga, and will make you a better Yoga practitioner. It's also great for back pain, and other muscle pain, and done frequently enough will keep you from going to the chiropractor as often. All the classes I have taken here have been great, and make me feel great. Try it out, the first class is just $10. read more
