Welcoming space for all! I've been coming to One Flow for about 5 or 6 months now and the vibe is kind and gentle. Yoga studios vary greatly and I've been to several now. What I like about this studio is their genuine appreciation for the guests and the ability to adapt their flow depending on what people ask for that day. Often times. One Flow has a very caring approach to teaching yoga. Emphasis is placed on each person's individual body and capabilities and poses are taught so that each student is able to adapt the pose to their own body. Correct breathing techniques and detailed instructions ensure the poses and modifications are attempted safely. There are a number of different class levels offered to suit all students. Foundational Flow works for all abilities with more instruction given for the poses step by step to mindfully build up skills. Next Level is a faster pace for yogis with a bit more experience. There are workshops offered to explore the philosophy of yoga, the Beginners Series for those starting out plus classes that explain specific poses for different levels of skills. All of the offerings at One Flow are designed to help deepen the yoga practice by creating a solid base, focusing on alignment and gradually intensifying ones practice all with a great sense of community. The studio is always kept very clean and well maintained. The teachers and staff are so helpful and are available to offer advice for improving one's practice. I have been a member of One Flow for about ten years. The entire staff is knowledgeable and caring. During the last couple of months I had an injury. I let the teachers know ahead of time, and they always made sure in include modifications to accommodate my needs. Each teacher also checked in with me after class. Wide range of classes at many times, knowledgeable teachers, clean and attractive studio. Nice temperature--warm but not hot. Although classes are also streamed for zoom, the camera is in the back of the room and the teacher moves around the room freely, so that does not interfere with the in-studio experience. On the other hand, too expensive for those of us who can only attend class once a week or so. Street parking is stressful. This studio could suit people who can attend at least three times a week, and don't mind circling around to find parking. Being required to greet everyone else ritualistically before class feels fake. Sometimes yoga wants to be quiet. read more

If you are looking for a yoga studio, come check out One Flow. There is something for everyone here! I remember walking into my first yoga class feeling a little bit nervous and a little bit scared. I guess that is natural when you try anything new. But, the friendly, welcoming community here now feels like home! For beginners, they offer beginner level classes and even a beginner's workshop where you can learn surrounded by others new to yoga. Over the course of the workshop you learn the fundamental poses, touch on Yoga philosophy and walk out with everything you need to know to feel comfortable in a yoga class. You've also probably made a new friend or two to go to your first class with! If the workshop is not for you, just come to a Level 1/Beginners class, you will be in terrific hands with any of the teachers and the warm, supportive community here. If you are looking for something a little deeper in your yoga practice, Kate's knowledge of and passion for the practice of yoga makes this studio special. They have offered workshops on the Yogic texts, Mental Health, and even a 30 day Reboot including yoga, meditation and gratitude practices. I highly recommend One Flow Yoga.  Being a member for 7 years, I see no reason to check out any other studios.  I appreciate the owners, Kate & Tracy and the various other stellar instructors who all have their unique styles, a very clean studio, their excellent customer service and that they personalize my experience with the simple gesture of all remembering my name. Ever since the pandemic,  I've chosen not to go into the studio yet, so I take full advantage of the convenience they offer with classes on Zoom, a plethora of On Demand classes and outdoor classes at East Portal Park available during the warmer seasons. I started taking classes here in Jan 2019, so I had a great introduction to the One Flow way (e.g. simple, but not easy) prior to the pandemic. The way they were able to pivot and get on Zoom so quickly helped me make it through those early days of COVID. Now, I'm able to be fully back in the studio (though there is still a Zoom option) and I am so happy to be back! I appreciate all of the instructors for their different approaches and strengths. I love that the focus of this studio is on the true intent of yoga. I feel confident in patronizing a studio that does its best to honor the philosophical roots of yoga, minimizing appropriation of culture. I love both the knowledge and positivity of teachers, the sense of community that they work to build among class participants and members. I also love that as a beginner and one with some physical limitations due to weight and lack of fitness, I still feel comfortable, supported, encouraged, and welcomed in every class I take. Kate's classes are meaningful and fun, Leilana ends her classes with the gift of her beautiful voice in a little song, Alli's classes are incredibly gentle and encouraging, Tracey's classes help you really learn what muscles and body parts to engage. All of the instructors offer something different and special. The studio itself is super accommodating -- two bathrooms, a separate shower, plus two changing spaces. They have yoga mats, water bottles, towels, even hair ties if you've forgotten yours or need to borrow one. The spaces are warm and clean. One Flow is where I go for self-care; to challenge and improve my body, mind and spirit! It is an amazing place for beginners like me, and for super-fit, super experienced yogis alike! read more

Did the 30 day month initial trial and it was very nice because there were no mirrors so I could really focus inward, classes at an array of times, and materials such as mats, towels, and water at no extra charge. The BEST TEACHER IS SARA!!! She does a wonderful job at guiding the class and mak8ng you focus on an intent for the class. I didn't like the high monthly price, the practically non existent parking, the terrible street parking, and the fact that the other instructors besides Sara didn't correct the poses if they were wrong which I didn't like. read more

More affordable than therapy! Over this past summer I've been trying to manage a great deal of anxiety. One Flow Yoga has been extremely helpful to my mental and physical health this summer. I've been meaning to share my thoughts about One Flow Yoga for a long time, maybe about a year overdue :-) But hey, there's no better time than the present, yes? As many reviewers have already shared, One Flow Yoga simply rocks it and is one of, if not THE best, yoga studios, in the Sacramento region. Here are a couple of main reasons why: 1. Kate and Tracy. They are the owners of One Flow Yoga. They truly care about the well-being of their students; are kind and compassionate; and I love the balance of humor with deep knowledge of many different yoga styles and philosophy they each bring to their classes. 2. Friendly, knowledgeable and supportive teachers. From day one, all of the instructors with whom I have had the honor and pleasure of learning and doing yoga, they have been excellent. I love the fact that each instructor has their own style and approach to yoga, the mat and the practice. I learn something new every time. All in all, this studio is a true gem. If you checking out yoga studios and considering One Flow, I would recommend that you do so. Let me start out by saying that this review is about 5 years overdue. One Flow Yoga is hands down, the best yoga studio in the area, probably even in California. The owners Kate and Tracy are amazing, loving, authentic and truly care about students and Yogic Philosophy. They foster a sense of community that makes students feel safe and at home. The facility is clean and beautiful and Kate does a great job of making sure all of the teachers are skilled in teaching safe, challenging Asana and philosophy. Practicing at one flow fulfills several of my needs--physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. We learn yogic philosophy while enjoying a challenging class that pushes us to notice where our mind goes during difficult times. One Flow encourages not just a strong body but an attuned mind. As a yoga-student and clinical social worker, I can say that this practice has enabled me to be more mindful--noticing when my thoughts and behaviors are out of alignment with my values--AND has given me the courage and space to make needed changes in my life. My practice at One Flow over the last 5 years has been life changing and I will be forever grateful that I get to call it my yoga home. read more

I really enjoyed this class(Vinyasa 1). Erin was a great instructor and kept the class engaged. I typically don't like yoga, but I thought this was a worthwhile class. It was an hour and 15 min long, so it didn't feel rushed. Definitely recommend this for anyone looking to increase flexibility and improve balance. read more

After practicing hot yoga for a few years in another location, I was ready for a change. The first day I walked into One Flow I was welcomed with open arms. I was very nervous as I've never practiced vinyasa. I love everything about this place I call my "new home", and have brought several friends who feel the same love. All the teachers are so encouraging, kind and I look forward to stepping on my mat. Every class is different so I'm Never bored, teachers have so much knowledge and compassion to share and a great sense of humor. My partner and I decided to try OneFlow yoga for different reasons: I had practiced both hot yoga and Vinyasa for about 2 years in Chicago and wanted to brush up on my poses and meditation after some time away from yoga, and my partner was completely new to yoga and wanted some relief for physical/muscular pain and inflexibility. I want to start by acknowledging the different needs and expectations yoga students have these days in finding a correct class/studio, and my experience is reflective of my needs and wants. Firstly, I have to compliment the studio on its care for the students and generally accommodating, clean, and friendly atmosphere. I would encourage most people to come and try its 1 month trial to see if it fits your expectations and pocketbook. I found the beginners class to be rather fast-paced and lacking in visual instruction. The teacher admitted to teaching mostly intermediate courses and I was struggling to keep up and noticed my partner was completely lost - as was another woman near us. The teacher gave instructions which felt rather mechanical and we were left to look to other students (who are also beginners so we were learning incorrectly). The teacher would occasionally help if one of us was out of pose but I really missed having a teacher who showed correct poses so that we could learn correctly. Also remember that some of your students speak English as a second language and cannot understand some of the jargon or other words. Students are not all auditory learners. During the meditative portion, the teacher played pop music...again, this may fit some people's needs for meditation but not mine. My partner tried another course taught by a different teacher and let her know she was new, but reported the same lack of visual instruction and feeling of being lost. I have a very tight working schedule and cannot try lots of different times and instructors so I will be seeking yoga elsewhere, as will my partner. We hope this review helps this studio accommodate those students who relate with our perspective. Different "flows" for different folks! read more

Love, love, love One Flow Yoga!! I am grateful for the Vinyasa 1 level class as I get back into my practice. The studio is lovely and warm but not too warm. I am heat sensitive and have struggled with this 'new' form of yoga that is taught in stifling rooms. The level one class is taught at a bit slower pace which is great for my aging body. I started practicing yoga in 1999, but let my practice fall off with a travelling work schedule and surgery a couple of years ago. I have encountered a feeling of competiveness in other studios that is not present here. Even in the one 'all levels' class I tried, though I struggled a bit, I never felt judged or 'less than'. I look forward to progressing and improving my practice, and myself. Kate is warm and kind and really funny in a quiet way that catches one by surprise. I look forward to every day that I know is a One Flow Yoga day and my husband wakes me up with 'its yoga day!' I'm fairly new in my practice and have visited other studios in my area but have been overwhelmed by the heat I really enjoyed the temperature of this studio. the detailed explanation of each asana and with corrections for posture in the level 1 class was amazing! I have a bit of social anxiety so I really liked that people at the studio were so kind and open! I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and plan on visiting again. read more

I usually am worried about taking a yoga class because I'm worried I'll fall behind and not be able to keep up or not know a move and have to ask. OK, so I want to preface my review by stating that I've done yoga for the past 12 years in CA (South and North) and that's not to brag, trust me I'm still not flexible to turn into a pretzel on a snap, but it's to give you, the lucky reader of this review, an idea of my exposure to various studios form Berkeley, Oakland, SF, LA, O.C. and now Sacramento. I found Kate when she taught at Zuda. It was my first class at the studio (and last) and I fell in love with her style of teaching. It was liberating, hard ass and FUN. Yes that's a word you can use with yoga, I know it sounds crazy. Then I had a baby, blah blah and when I checked Zuda's website and didn't find Kate, I freaked out. Luckily, I found her in her new space and luckily again it's only 5 minutes from my house. I'm so lucky, or maybe it's not luck just this good karma from yelp :) Keep it coming baby! CLASS WITH KATE: Dynamic, fun and I've never heard such an awesome array of music. Anything from hip hop to 80's and in between. Plus I've never had sweat drip from my eyebrows into my eyes at any exercise class, let alone a yoga class. That said, this ain't your chanty slow Hatha yoga. It's Vinyasa at it's funnest. The hour and fifteen minutes fly by and I really feel I don't need a gym membership anymore. Kate works my core, abs, and also shares her insight into spirituality without sounding guruish. Not in a bad way, but I'm not into the preachy stuff. If I need that I'll go to church, ya know what I mean. STUDIO ATMOSPHERE: Very clean, modern, and not smelly. She offers free water and cute changing rooms in the back so I can run from work in and be ready for my class. It is heated but not a la Bikram. Long ass way of saying: THIS STUDIO ROCKS! read more

Sacramentans are lucky to have such a fantastic, supportive, growing yoga community. While I still consider myself a yoga novice (and maybe that is ultimately what yoga teaches you...that you are always a novice, in everything you do), I have really learned a lot by trying different studios around town. I decided to try One Flow because Gina Garcia teaches there, and I had taken a class with her at Yoga Shala that I found inspiring and challenging. I took advantage of the 10 days for $10 promo and was able to attend classes not only with Gina, but with the owner Kate too. These 10 day deals are pretty much available at every studio in Sac, and really allow you to learn what you like, what you don't like, and meet new people. Kate does not mess around. Her classes are challenging. You will sweat. You will probably be sore. But you will feel fantastic. Her space is very low key and simple, which minimizes distractions and really helps you to focus on your practice. read more

Everything everyone says about Kate, Claire, Lauren and the others (who's name slip my mind right now) is true ! And some. I was stuck in my life. Something just wasn't giving--it was the snag in the river of life. No job for over a year and half. Unsettled relationships. Off center, generally. After praying, sitting still and other meditative practices, it seemed to me that I ought to try yoga. Why yoga? Because, I rationalized, whatever I am stuck in/about, is in this body, in which I am experiencing these life issues. What other course ought I take to un-yoke myself from the treadmill of issues? So, I wrote to Kate and told her about my situation: further, I had very little money. She took me in--at the special rate. In one week, I was popping something... No pain. Just an odd somatic series of pops. After all the wringing out, we rested in "child's pose", and Claire intuitively rest her hand in the middle of my back (where it had been popping). Whatever it was, was released in that moment: I was grateful that I was "face down" in child's pose, because I just wept. And that was not an expected outcome. Frankly I was a little anxious that I wouldn't stop this weeping. The NEXT day: I was offered a job. Following day, an estranged family member who had been "angry" for over 13 years, called to acknowledge the need to release us from this issue. It reminds me of a cross-cultural saying: "As above, so below." Find release here, (in body) the release finds you there (in soul). It is with gratitude that I found generosity of spirit through Kate --she holds a special place in this studio for significant work. read more
