This is a long overdue for leaving a review for the sunnyvale club pilates. Idk why some people complain when they were the ones not following the policy, being on time and wearing pilates socks! It is not that hard... All the instructors are great. They are accommodating, engaging, and knowledgable. My favorite instructor is Alejandra. I really feel like finishing a good workout after her class. She is attentive to students by correcting their forms. She is such a great teacher, making us use every part of muscles and challenging yet encouraging us. I think that is why her class gets full so fast. I was taking the pilates class here everyday during the summer when I was pregnant a couple years ago. I think it helped me to push my baby! :) Staff at the front are always friendly too. read more

Went to the class with the expectation of buying grip socks, but they did not have Apple Pay so they did not allow me to go to the class !! One of the girls was nice enough about it and the other was anyways just a warning to bring card or cash otherwise you're going to waste your time and money and expect to pay $20 for a grip socks lol Expect terrible service too from what I hear from the other reviews and no refund on your class read more

After meeting all of the instructors and staff here, it is an impressive place to get a great workout with individual attention to each participant. I love that each exercise targets different parts of the body, and especially the repetition of how important breathing is for each position. There's a lot going on in each session so the time goes quickly. It's the most fun time I've ever had in rigorous training. read more

Extremely weird membership set up. Please be aware to not sign up for their reoccuring trial membership unless certain. They have a impossible membership cancellation process where their "emails" "phones" NEVER seems to work, allows phones to ring until hits vm and even if you leave a vm they do not work nor return your vm callbacks to cancel subscription but remember to call you if your card expires for "reoccuring payments" through their billing dept. when you ask their billing dept to cancel subscription after payment they defer you to call the location directly. For whoever said that Pilates workout doesn't work is because you are simply doing it wrong. Follow the instructor and do your research as well. It's about control and balance, not about speed and get it done. What's good about this location is 1. Equipment is well maintained and clean. 2. Various of instructors offer different sets of workout. I don't have a preference as I learn differently based on their teaching styles. 3. You are signed up for what you have signed up for so try to be at the class by schedule. read more

been going here since feb of this year and havent looked back since! hit or miss with the instructors, ive found a few that i like and they have been consistently amazing! great workout. simultaneously doing pilates reformer and pole dancing, ive found a lot more strength in my ankles and core! i go to two other club pilates locations (mountain view and fremont); i find this sunnyvale location to be the best size wise. the reformers are generously spaced out and theres room to walk up and down the aisle of the studio :) parking absolutely here sucks tho- some of the parking spots are at weird awkward angles read more

Now that I'm almost 800 classes in since June 2021, I think it's safe to say that I basically live here now. This studio and its wonderful instructors has been a transformational force in my life, both physically and mentally. Thanks to Club Pilates, I am currently in the best shape of my adult life - better even than age 18 - and I'm approaching my mid-40's. My blood pressure is extremely low, I was able to hit a BMI that is 3 full points below my initial "unattainable" goal, and all of my childhood hyper-mobility is back. I literally feel like I have aged backwards. Best of all, I have met so many amazing people and have made so many friendships that have enriched my life outside of studio time. Just a few instructors to seek out if you sign up: Laura: Take her intro classes first if you're brand new! I'm so glad I did when I first started. She taught me everything I know about form and spinal placement. Very beginner-friendly, but regardless of your level, you will definitely get a full-body workout every time. Olivera: Her classes hit a sweet spot for me with pacing and variety, and I'm constantly learning new ways to use the equipment from her. She taught me everything I know about the chair and TRX. Jessica: Stick Time at 6am twice a week transformed my abs, and I have never laughed so much in class! She builds a fun rapport with us and has a regular early morning crowd that is super fun. Her playlists are so coordinated with her choreo that you'll find yourself "dancing on the ceiling" with feet in straps. Yunee, Pallavi, Ella, Nicole, and Alejandra: All highly skilled and kind instructors and you will get an excellent workout every single time! My schedule doesn't always align so I don't get to take as many classes with them as I would like to, but I really enjoy their teaching styles and they each challenge me to push past my limits and strive for improvement. I am so thankful for this studio and I feel like I have a second family here. If you're skeptical about trying reformer Pilates, come here and work out with us! New people are always welcomed and it's a very non-competitive environment. I'm always happy to accompany anyone to their free intro class who needs extra support to get started. They are very rude here. When you check in to a free into class, they make you buy socks for over $20. They don't have sizes.

Took the 30 mins intro class. I highly recommend them. The instructor was very helpful and was correcting rhetorical postures. They also explain all the machines in detail and safety instructions too. read more

Also, wanted to highlight that they told me since I gave them a review on yelp which they didn't like it! I should not come to class. Upon talking with Tanya the manager of the studio that I have paid for the month and will come for the month as anyway you haven't canceled my membership so I paid and I can take the service. Next day they canceled my membership and refunded the rest of the amount of the month. This is the professionalism they have. They are taking advantage of Club Pilates to run the scam and fool people. If anyone knows a way to complain about franchise, please let me know and I will do the needful. read more

I've been practising Pilates off and on for over 4 years and have tried out Pilates classes in many organizations in the south bay and Club Pilates in Sunnyvale is by far one of the worst. Recently, I wanted to get back into the pilates groove again and signed up for a class at this location. I've never regretted signing up for anything else, more. Thanks to poor cuing and modifications by the instructor (Yunee) and the rushed nature of every set as though she wanted to get the class over with, I sustained a foot injury. As a result, for the last 4 days I've had to not move much and use crutches. The instructor moved through the motions with very little instruction on foot placement, breathing or muscle engagement. Any time I asked for modifications, she acted as if I was being unreasonable and gave me some random exercise (the workout class equivalent of 'busy work'). It was as though she wished I wasn't in the class - all because I asked for modifications! As I was recounting this experience to a friend, she pointed out that this isn't the first time I had bad experience at this location. A few years ago, I'd signed up for private classes and the instructor basically bolted out the door the minute I stepped off the reformer without a word. I was going to ask about timing and availability and when I turned around to do that, she was gone! I told myself on that occasion that she probably had a personal engagement - though given the abrupt nature of her departure and noncommittal responses from the rest of the studio staff, I didn't bother continuing with the sessions. That's 2 awful experiences and general apathy from the people at the studio. Never going back here again obviously. Horrible class , even more horrible instructors. read more

I don't usually post bad reviews... but I want to say that this was the worst Pilates experience ever! They don't really care about your process, all they care about is about money. They even charge for freezing your account for 2 weeks and renewing your account if you want to rejoin. service is horrible and front desk and some instructor very unfriendly. And literally, if you are late one minute they will accept other waitlist and tell you you are late one minute so we accepted another person on the waitlist. Most importantly, my body didn't change and I stoped my membership and they were furious about it. They were like if you stop your membership you will have to pay the renewal fee if you want to start again at some point with us. They weren't even sorry to hear about the reason to cancelling my membership. Again, all they care about is money and not your health. read more

Sadly, Club Pilates has too many things going against them for me to continue. - Pricing is inflexible and it feels like they nickel and dime for $$$. Unexpected traffic, sickness....get ready to pay a fee for being late/missing the class. You want to freeze your account? Get ready to pay a fee and most likely you didn't tell them 30 days in advance to whatever date they need it by, so you're going to end up paying that month anyways. - I am gone all of March out of the country and the freeze fee would be $15. - Classes are normally booked 1-1.5 weeks in advance, so good luck finding classes when you return from a freeze. You'll have to join waitlists and hope it works out. - I pay for their unlimited package and was billed on 12/19 for the next month, but asked them to freeze my account the first week of January because of COVID. When I was able to return, they pretty much tell me I can get billed again on 2/19 (the next billing), which is when I can take classes. I had to bring up that I literally paid $229 on 12/19 and only took 5 classes, in order for them to approve me finishing up the rest of my unlimited classes before the next billing. - Cleanliness. For any moves that require you to look at the floor, you'll probably see dust balls and hair. They rely on the people taking the classes to wipe down the machines in between classes, but there are plenty of people that don't do a good job. I've seen people do a few swipes of the main reformer and not wipe any of the straps, foot bar or even weights they've touched. It's a red flag when you constantly see people get their wet wipes after you, but be done wiping down their stations before you. Positives - Yunhee is an amazing instructor and her classes are my favorite! She's honestly a large reason I tried to stay and will definitely miss her classes. Between the other instructors, there are a good variety of classes/teaching styles. I definitely saw an increase in flexibility and core strength. Ultimately, I cancelled with them and of course, they need to get in that last month of billing. Luckily, they did allow me to switch to a 4X pass my last month (2/19-3/19), so the pricing would be cheaper than paying for unlimited. In this day and age, flexibility is key and Club Pilates is not that option if you need financial or class booking flexibility. read more

I've been a member of Sunnyvale Club Pilates since December. Pilates was new to me, but the focus on core strength and stability was very appealing to me and a big change from my usual aerobic style workouts. It did take take a few weeks of working with the Pilates equipment before I got over my initial awkwardness. Pros: You have your own dedicated space and equipment to work with. The movements isolate specific muscle groups and all muscle groups are worked in each class. There is a steady pace and the class, to me, moves very quickly. There have been a variety of new classes added which adds variety. (Suspend/Cardio) The background music is a good selection and helps keep me focused. Cons: Classes are in demand and often have wait lists. You need to book in advance to be sure of a spot in a class. Often I've been able to get into a class at the last minute when there was a late cancellation, but it's getting harder to do that. It is expensive for the number of classes I want to attend, so I ended up with an unlimited plan. Cancellation policy is pretty tough and I often can't book a class if my work demands look like they might interfere. Finally, there are a bunch of different instructors all of whom are experienced but with different styles. I recommend trying out a variety of different classes to see which instructor best suits you. read more

Great workouts and all instructors that I've had clas with seem to have a solid foundation for pilates. Classes are typically 1:10ish ratio so there is time for them to correct your form if they see anything wrong. Classes are on the pricey side but worth giving it a try. read more

This Pilates studio is fabulous. The instructors give clear directions, vary each session, and keep an eye on each student correcting them to keep them safe. There is a multitude of equipment to keep the workouts interesting as well as targeting each part of the body. There are also different types of classes with varying levels. The reformers are very clean with each student wiping it and the equipment down after each workout. Helpful too are the reminder emails that are sent once you register for a class and then again a few days before your class. The receptionists are all so friendly and some of them remember you and check you in as you come through the door. A friendly fun place for your pilates workout! read more

I joined Club Pilates in Sunnyvale in March 2021 when they reopened after lockdown(s). It is such a nice studio, always clean with nice decor and a calming ambience. It felt great to get back to an exercise class in person and reformer pilates is one of those workouts that you can do comfortably wearing a mask. The stations are well spaced out and there is never anybody too close to you so it's about as safe as you can feel in these Covid times. There's a large variety of classes each week, it's usually pretty easy to get a spot in the classes you like (I mostly go mornings). Even if there is a waitlist, most of the time you'll get bumped into the class. The instructors are generally attentive and friendly. Tania gives the most challenging workout, you will feel every muscle the day after her class. Laura focuses more on breathing and pays a lot of attention to form, always appreciate that. And Olivera is more like a combination of both. I recommend you take a class with each instructor each week as they will all give you something different. We'll be leaving the Bay Area shortly and I'll miss the studio. I've informed them of my departure and the process to cancel my membership has been easy. read more

All of the front desk associates are nice, informative & always have the answer to your questions. There is a nice variety of instructors who are knowledgeable and enjoy teaching pilates. Before each class they always ask if anyone has an injury or special needs to be addressed. You always feel better, stronger, & relaxed when leaving the studio. read more

She also mentioned that the front desk was not intended to hurt me with the bad tone and she will make sure this won't happen again. I've been practicing Pilates for years, this location's front desk is super arrogant and deliberately to charge me no-show fee even I showed up. I didn't know about this until the charge shows up on my bill. What's more, when I asked to change my plan, the front desk then intentionally to hide the information about the limitations of the new plan. Very bad management, very bad people at this location. The customer service is pretty bad! I went for an intro class to change my Pilates class to this place, and in the middle of class, the front desk lady asked me to come out and change my socks because their grip are not suitable. She offered me to buy one pair from there. I got it and told her if I can pay after class? She said No and told me I have to give her my credit card. I just had my phone with me but they didn't have Gpay. She told me I can leave my phone with her and go to class. Seriously??? Just for a pair of socks! I told her let me check my car for my wallet. Before I left, she asked me where I put the socks?! Which she found it on the front desk. At this moment, I got my stuff and left! This is tooo much just for a pair of socks which nobody has interest to steal! Uneccerassy headache! This is not how you treat or appreciate your customers! read more

Some instructors are just plain rude and the environment is not at all welcoming. I had a really bad experience. I came for an intro class, was told I needed to buy grip socks so I did. The girls at the front desk opened it for me without my consent. I had to leave for an emergency and asked for a refund - they said no because it was already opened and when I pointed out they had opened it for me without my consent they were extremely rude. This studio is awesome! I did Barre for 4.5 years when living in Los Angeles, then switched to Orange Theory when I moved to silicon valley. After getting injured there a few times I thought I'd give pilates a shot. I've always wanted to try it, but the machines were a little intimidating. I did the intro class with Juliette, which was perfect. You get the basics of what a class will generally include. You also learn that the reformer is really not that scary! I have been attending regularly for about a full month now and really enjoy it. The one thing I wish they had was more 7am morning classes. That's the only slot I can make during the week due to my work schedule, but they only have 7am classes on Tuesday/Thursdays. The nice thing is that those are really small, intimate classes, so you get a lot of personal attention. Thoughts so far- * Shui ivy's classes are fantastic. She is really funny and knows her pilates. She makes everything look so easy and talks the class through each exercise in detail. I find her classes very challenging and she makes sure we use a good mix of the reformer, magic circle, and chair. * Juliette's and Tania's classes are also extremely challenging. They are very seamless and non-stop, which I love. I have been to several classes with Juliette and she is incredibly nice and will always help you if you have a question about anything. I have only taken Tania's Suspend (TRX) and Cardio Sculpt classes. Both were inherently more difficult than the regular Reformer Flow classes, mostly because they integrate the TRX straps or the jumpboard in the cardio class. * Olivera's Reformer Flow 1 and Reformer Flow 1.5 classes have been very similar in my experience. She focuses a lot on breathing and has more of a slower, yoga-like pace. I enjoy that she speaks through everything calmly. Sometimes instructions were a little vague though, so I would get lost. She integrates a lot more stretching into her classes than any other instructor. Good on some days, but other times I want more challenge/a faster pace. * Lastly, Trupti's classes are pretty fun. She's funny and is able to laugh with us during class. She is very good with form, so attentive and able to spot every detail of where your weight is placed or where you should be feeling the work. I find that pilates is extremely similar to Barre, just with more toys :) You have the reformer, chair, magic (evil) circle, ball, bosu ball, TRX straps, a mini barre, and the rollers, which is a nice touch. Endless possibilities! The same resistance training concept applies and having the barre background has really helped in easing into the pilates exercises. Note that you are laying down most of the time so it's very low-impact. Overall, all of the instructors at this studio have such great attention to having correct form with every exercise. I love that they always reiterate what part of your body you should be focusing on. It really helps so you get the most out of every minute of class. read more

I really love this place. It s a very gentle workout with great results. I have drastically improved my flexibility and my endurance following a gluteal tendon repair. The instructors are great about giving modifications for my injury and for ways to make exercises easy, moderate or advanced. The instructions are easy to follow and it's a really great workout. This is by far my favorite studio! The instructors are supportive, energetic, and each work out is different. The 1.0 classes are truly accessible to any fitness level, and I liked how the intro class incorporated both learning about the equipment and a workout. You can get a good sense of the style from the intro class for sure. Also the unlimited pass is a great deal, and many folks take classes back to back, which is a great wa to try different styles and utilize the pass. read more

I love this studio and the different level and types of classes! You're able to really increase your range and mobility depending on your level. Tania is amazing! She's always very helpful but also pushes you to become stronger. I loved the suspend classes as they really challenge you to strengthen your core. I visit this location when I'm in town and I must say I'm blown away, I feel right at home and the instructors are all amazing. One of my favorite instructors has to be Laura, she's super warm and walks up to any new face in class and makes sure to acknowledge you. Through out my work out she kept checking in on me and provided tips that improved my work outs far beyond what I was feeling during many other classes. Great studio for your overall fitness, low joint-impact workout! I loved coming in during the mornings and getting my pilates in. It may seem like it's not a high intensity workout, but it really does burn your core and arms/legs. The instructors have been good with helping newcomers learn form and technique - as with anything, find the instructor that's right for you by trying out a few classes. The manager was also helpful in understanding my needs and adjusting my membership accordingly. Give it a try! read more
