Overall rating: 4.7…read more I am obsessed with this place, but you have to come in with low expectations. A night out dancing with friends will do just fine. There's a $10 cover after a certain time which is most places for dancing. Drinks are delicious as well. Definitely helps if you're tall.

BEWARE: Multiple Phones Stolen in One Night, Management Showed No Concern…read more Both my friend and I had our phones stolen inside Ciao Ciao. We later learned that at least two other women also had their phones stolen that same night. When we reported it to the bouncers and management, they showed little concern and made no meaningful effort to investigate, review security footage, or help locate the stolen phones. We even pointed out an individual whose behavior seemed suspicious, but instead of investigating him, management defended him. After I questioned him myself, I watched him immediately leave, get into a car parked directly in front of the club, and drive away. Something seemed quite fishy about his relationship with the club. What makes this especially concerning is the safety aspect. If I had not been with my friends, I would have been stranded for the rest of the night without a phone to contact anyone, get directions, or access transportation. Having multiple phones stolen in one evening should be a major red flag for any venue, yet staff seemed completely uninterested in addressing it. Based on this experience, I would not return and would urge anyone visiting to keep a very close eye on their belongings.

I came and excited to have a really nice experience. As someone who's queer myself I was really…read moreexcited to finally check out this bar. I go in and the bar is packed, which is a great sign. However, ordering a drink, of course in a packed bar is really hard. I had my jacket over a chair and someone was sitting on it and I didn't make a big deal out of it. So I sat on the chair next to mine. Again, just trying to order a drink. The person who had their stuff on the chair comes back and instead of it being between me and this person it turns into two more people jumping in on me upset that I'm sitting on someone else's chair. The bartender then gets in on it, and he starts being rude and yelling at everybody, but more so me because he was friends with the other people. Then me and the guy are laughing and making up and talking. And he comes back and yells at us again. This time for no reason. Screaming out of the top of his lungs. Needless to say I never got to replace my drinks. And I never got to see if it was a good bar because I was being yelled at by the bartender and other people. Was in there for maybe 15-20 mins. Really awful experience and it was the bartender with short black hair. Hopefully he learns to actually be kinder. Definitely didn't feel like a safe space

I essentially avoided these comedy clubs (and the bars around them) for my entire tenure living in…read moreNYC because I thought they'd be cheesy, tacky and touristy. But recently I kept seeing good comedy clips of Comedy Cellar on YT so decided what the hell, why not give it a try? Pro tips: - it is worth it. cover charge is not bad, you basically get to see 5-6 comedians. some nights are $25, but it was Sunday, so was $18. plus 2 drinks, so not an expensive night out. - definitely get a reservation. don't be those 20 people sadly standing in the standby section on the sidewalk, hoping to get an open spot. between the 3 jointly-owned clubs (incl Comedy Cellar & Fat Black Pussycat), they probably do 15 2-hour shows a night. You can always grab a resv for tomm, if tonight is full. - expect organization/chaos. they sort of have this down to a science. they line up the 200 people on the street out front, check ids, assign your table, get your phones into bags, etc. but once inside the system can break down a tad and long waits for drink service and your bill at the end, so be patient. - you will be forced to put your phone on silent and placed into a sealed pouch for the show. no exceptions. literally, your table # is written on the outside of the pouch. - be sure to check-in the minute you arrive, to get your pouch and then get in line (there is no one telling you this) - overall it's a fun time. comedians are talented, it's one of the best places in the country to see comedy and quite a NY experience.

Our waiter was great about checking in unobtrusively. the owner Noam should be commended for his level of customer service & the way he makes sure staff upholds it. Sets were killer, especially Ryan Hamilton, Yamaneika Saunders, and Lucas Zelnick. website is super informative and well organized so you have an idea of whose performing at each room + have an understanding of ground rules/menu offerings/etc. the line outside could use a biiit of work // clearer or larger signs because it was a bit chaotic to navigate with so many people but was chill once we found the Reservations line. hiiiighly recommend making one, btw. Ordered Passion & Heat cocktails + onion rings + a Stella. the onion rings were way better than I expected as was the cocktail.
