It was super easy to schedule my appointment online and I went in to meet with Dr. Jess Muench. The office space is beyond tranquil, inclusive, and calming. From check in, to check out, this was impeccable care and service. Dr. Jess is kind, intentional, curious, and warm. I've received a few chiropractic visits with her and I already feel more comfortable and less tense in my body. I think the payment process was the most confusing. The receptionist didn't let me know when I scheduled with her, or when I checked in, that their credit card machine doesn't accept tips, they only accept cash or check for tips. It could be a turn off for some, but others may find the ever-present connection between the body and the spirit an added benefit. Growing up as a gymnast, I've gotten more massages than I can count from a variety of different places so I know exactly what makes a great massage. I've tried so many types of recovery and rehabilitation practices and I keep returning to Function. They offer so many different services: massage, acupuncture, cupping, dry needling, etc. Joy is the best! She's very skilled and is the only person I've gone to that can apply the high amount of pressure I need to help my back. They also have a great space, it's super comfortable and they offer free tea. They have their own parking lot so it's super easy to access. Price wise, they have pretty standard prices. It's about $140 for an hour long massage (cupping can be added at no additional cost) which is more than fair for the service they provide. I was referred by a co-worker who goes here too, and she has worked at various chiropractic offices in the past part-time so I trusted her opinion. I'm glad I found them. I feel like they put the patient needs first over their pocketbook. I've always had stiffness or soreness in my back and shoulders due to my line of work (dental=hunched over) and poor computer posture. One day it just got to be too much. I contacted them and got an appointment same day with Kiaja. Love her! She is so kind... and funny! And very knowledgeable and able to explain what she is going to do, why she is doing it and how it should help. I love that she is hands on (back cracking), and not just electrodes and walk away for 20 mins. My insurance doesn't cover my chiropractic care. So I purchased a package I get charged every month for, and it's affordable. Their packages are similar to Massage Envy. Examples: 2 times a month, 4 times a month, 8 times a month, unlimited monthly and family packages. The bigger the package, the more savings and perks. A plus...I get to use my HSA Benny card. I've been going for 8 weeks now and my back discomfort/ stiffness is so much better. I enjoy it so much, 10 mins isn't enough time to catch up with the week's events with Kiaja. I haven't been a patient for long but Kayla, the office manager, already knows me by name. And they had a fun March Madness competition... patients filled out brackets and winners won prizes (gift certificates, free services). I know they offer other massage and cryotherapy services too. By the way, this was my first interaction with her, ever. I felt disrespected by her as a patient of Align Chiromedical for the two reasons above. There are more professional ways to communicate with a patient. I'm disappointed of her lack of customer service and professionalism. When I re-addressed to her over email weeks later how she spoke to me over this phone call, she did not acknowledge the situation, nor take ownership to apologize to smooth it over. I've been a patient Align Chiromedical for over +10 YEARS under the care of Dr. Jake Dalbec (who was wonderful, provided high quality care with positive results and would highly recommend him 5/5 stars....would say 6/5 stars if that could be a rating!!!). But after his departure and being treated the way I was by Dr. Alexa from this phone call, I will be finding care elsewhere. It's a shame that this is how it ends with Align Chiromedical.
