I had one really bad massage recently and I went to them and complained and asked for a refund and they would not give me one. I then requested to have my future massage canceled and they sent me this response as oart of theur total response - Thank you once again for your understanding, and we hope you find a provider that better suits your needs. I literally have been telling everyone I know. If you have a chronic pain issue don't just live with it, fix it! Acupuncture is recommended as a valid treatment by John Hopkins + Harvard. It's not pseudo science, it's real science that works with your nerves and stimulates neurotransmitters. I waited until after 5 sessions (~7 weeks) to post this review, but I seriously feel like I inhabit a different body than I had in March when I had my first appointment (posting this in May). I have had painful tension headaches and migraines with auras my entire adult life - and so does some of my extended family - so I assumed they were just something I had to manage. So as of right now, you'll receive a chair massage. There was a client who stopped by to get their feet massaged. I stopped by on a late Monday afternoon for an unplanned/spur-of-the-moment massage therapy session. I have a big exam on Tuesday so I need something now. Their employees greeted me as I approached. There were three staff members. Each were working on a client. They offered me a chair. I waited for 15-minutes. When it was my turn, I did the 30-minutes package for $42 + deep tissue for $10 extra. It was a good 30-minutes as my therapist rang out my tight neck, shoulder, and upper back muscles. He also worked on my mid and lower back, as well as my arms. As any normal massage session, I was sleepy afterwards. The next day, my body was sore, a delayed onset of muscle soreness, which is a normal a physical response to the inflammation as the body heals. I was fine later. I'll be back when they reopen their storefront. I see they offer cupping for a reasonable price.

Because I have a variety of sources of pain, it's tricky to deal with all of them individually for sheer lack of hours in the day. What I love about Melissa is that she always listens to me about what's causing the most discomfort during a given treatment and focuses specifically on that issue, while keeping in mind what's going on with the rest of me. She always does acupuncture and different types of massage in each appointment, and also mixes in other therapies like electroacupuncture and taping when useful. Really glad I found her, because I haven't actually had much luck with prior massage therapists who just didn't really know what to do with my issues. I will say that not every treatment she does feels "soothing". Sometimes, deep tissue stuff or breaking up fascia in the skin is uncomfortable, but it feels soooooo much better when she's done, and I know that I have been making steady progress towards healing for good. That's why I've been seeing her for about 6 months now... I can tell that things are getting better, and that's super critical to my choice. I don't just want a relaxing escape or whatever...I want to heal!
