We had a great stay at Elysian Beach Resort. We visited both restaurants and enjoyed the food and drinks at both places. The front desk was helpful and accommodating when we had issues. The rooms were clean and AC worked great. There is a laundry room available to use as well as a pool & hot tub for guests. It has its own beach front access & lounge chairs available to use free. Our favorite place was Rico's bar located next to the pool. He gave us the best recommendations and we had such a great time hanging at the bar with him. Definitely stop by for a drink at Rico's bar! Personally I wish it was located closer to the main road but we had a rental car so it wasn't a big deal. We stayed on the 3rd floor bldg Y. Our room had a fridge. read more

Booked through AirB&B so this experience might not be the same for members. We got to the resort easily from the airport via taxi. We were allowed to check in 2 hours early, so that was a plus. The lobby is small but has cold water, a small lounge, a bathroom and an ATM. But no concierge (front desk person: "I don't know where she is--I haven't seen her in a long time.")--so had to figure out everything ourselves. They had a concierge contact us from one of their sister properties but she never texted back when I asked about a time to connect. Only one restaurant was open on Sunday when we arrived so we were barely in time to order before they closed. The dive shop was supposed to be open but was not. Even though we were advertised a late check-out, we only got 30 more minutes so stored our bags and went into town as they did not have guest showers on property to be able to enjoy the beach after we checked out. The room was nice, clean, and spacious for a studio king. The kitchenette had a blender, toaster, coffeemaker, small fridge, and cups/plates/silverware etc. Bathroom had towels, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, and lotion. Room had a safe. There was a dresser and end tables and a small table and chairs inside. On the balcony, there was a table and chairs and one chaise lounge chair. Each room has its own air conditioner. The property is built into a hill but relatively easily accessible (not ADA accessible but not crazy) despite the stairs. The grounds were well-maintained and the pool was a decent size and clean. At first I was not impressed with the beach because it was a bit rocky especially on one side and had lots of boats on the bay, but after touring four other properties on the island, I realized ours was the best we had seen. The lounge chairs are adequate and towels are provided both in your room and at the front desk. The shore is dotted with trees for natural shade if you want it. The water is clear but a bit rocky. The dive shop offers snorkels, boat rentals (kayaks, SUPs, and paddle boats), sand toys, sundries like sunscreen and tampons, and gear like hats and shirts and waterproof bags. They also offer snorkeling excursions departing from other nearby properties. Shout out to the attendant working the shop this week--he gave us great recommendations. No market or store on property--go into Red Hook (small nearby town) to the shops. Also, warning, you can't go to the glamorous property next door even to have lunch as they do not allow visitors on property. The two restaurants onsite were fine for our needs. One is pizza and sandwiches (Sangria's) and the other is more upscale (Caribbean Fish Market). But definitely recommend going into Red Hook to enjoy the local cuisine! I would recommend this hotel for a less expensive option than many competitors, especially if your party wants to go out and explore and do activities. The beach was the best we saw on the East End, and being close to Red Hook was a real plus. There are lots of options to take a boat road or the ferry to St. John and it's a pretty quick ride. If you want an immersive, pampered experience, this place isn't likely for you. But this is a good home base to enjoy all that USVI has to offer. read more

BUGS EVERYWHERE. Oh my god, we could not get rid of them. We used bug spray ($8 at the dive shop) and we even told the front desk to spray our room for us several times. The bugs loved our hotel room and never left us alone. My boyfriend and I even joked about it and said "Oh man, time to go back to BUGLAND to sleep tonight!" We ended our 5-day stay with AT LEAST 20 bug bites EACH. We rarely got bit anywhere else outside of our hotel room. The bugs we encountered were mostly mosquitos, sun flies, and ants... but who knows what else could have showed up. (The ants showed up without us even eating food in the room yet!) Besides the abundance of bugs... the hotel room itself was very clean and pretty spacious. It's pretty cool that you have the option to have a kitchenette or a full kitchen in your room! However, you may need to continuously ask for household things like paper towels, seasoning, dish washing liquid, etc. We kept running out! There's also A LOT of stairs throughout the resorts since it's very hilly. There's not many useful things near the resort... No ice machine... No convenience store... Only two restaurants, two vending machines, and a dive shop. You can probably find a convenience store at Red Hook, which is a 5-10 minute drive away. I recommend Food Center or Moe's. Overall, the resort had a nice view of Cowpet Bay and it looks so cute with the pastel pink finish! However... not sure if it's worth the 40 bug bites we will be taking back home. read more

Other reviewers have claimed that the insects were numerous and created a major drawback. Maybe they came during a different season, but neither my wife nor I were bitten at all. Snorkeling in the cove was satisfactory. We saw a turtle, a few stingrays, a star fish and many colorful reef fish among beautiful coral reefs. As the pictures show, the resort is top notch. It's built on a hillside, so plan to use the stairs. It's good exercise. The food is good, although the menu is a little limited due to the island isolation. I stayed here for a week/ 7 days to be exact. I am a Diamond Wyndham member and this was a timeshare that's was listed. We were charged $39 a day for a "resort fee" that they could not provide the information to where this fine print was written. Never was given room service for staying a week. I had to ask for towels and clean myself with the broom in the closet. The excuse was because of "covid." Our stay was in August of 2022. None of the staff are even wearing masks and there are no covid restrictions on the island. This just sounded like laziness since the staff never smiled, were not generally helpful, and always had an attitude or were rude. It would have been helpful to have atleast one day of room service since we were in the beach and there was alot of sand involved for that reason. Customer service needs to be looked into here heavily. Seems like this is the typical attitude for the locals of Virgin Islands but I was not expecting this in a hotel setting that serves to timeshare holders to act this way. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach. There is also a beach bar/ grill and a Carribean Fish Market on site at this location. Definitely worth going to both of these restaurants while staying here. There is also a very large pool which is nice when you want to get away from the salt water for a day. If you want to get pool towels you have to walk out of your way to the front desk to get it. Then you have to return the towels into this bin in front of the lobby. Pool towels should be near the pool, it would only make sense. There is no shuttle although there are taxis that are usually lined up near the hotel and charge whatever price they feel like. I would recommend asking for the price of the fare prior to entering the car since they are not fair in pricing. I was charged $50 to go 8 miles... go figure. They charge per person and the hotel can call the taxi for you if no one is outside. When calling the front desk from the phone inside the room it is very staticky and they don't always answer. Also the TV inside the room never worked. They did allow me to stay in the same room rather than checking out into another room. Inside the room was very spacious for a studio with a Murphy bed. It had a full kitchen, full sized fridge, dishwasher, washer, dryer, AC, and patio. I also noticed in the bathroom sink every time I would turn the warm water on, the water would turn yellow/brown. It was pretty disgusting to want to brush my teeth after seeing that. Not sure where the water source is coming from but the water would clear up when turning it cold. read more

Club Wyndham Elysian Resort in ST Thomas UVI is a beautiful property in the south east part of the island at Cowpet bay next to the ST. Thomas Yacht Club. We made our reservation 6 months ahead of time and even like this the only option available to book was a studio. So, do book 6+ months in advance. Other helpful info ... rooms/suites/studios all have ocean views but it does not necessarily mean you will be near the pool or ocean, most likely you will have a to walk. Luckily we were right by the pool and beach. I was impressed how spacious the studio was. Extremely spacious! The studio has a nice size kitchen, dining table for 4, one restroom, washer and dryer, dish washer, pots, pans, dishes but no couch. So, if you have kids and you were planning to have them sleep in the sofabed well there is none and the resort doesn't offer cot or inflatable beds so plan ahead. The room is large enough to add a cot bed. Whyndham provides you with all the usual hotel basics such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, mouth wash, dish washing detergent (2 packets) palmolive bottle to wash dishes but no clothes detergent. The washer and dryer are great for small loads. Love them! The restroom and closet are specious and there is a safe. Additionally, there is the usual wyndham bag of popcorn and gallon size lemonade mix packet. I was very pleased with all. Do remember they only have weekly clean service. Club Wyndham Elysian Beach Resort has two restaurants on site Sangrias Grill and Caribbean Fish Market which is supposed to be upscale but not really. There is no gift shop or ammenities shop of any kind on site nor the resort offers shuttles to a grocery store but you may get a taxi and share the fare to get any extra items you may have forgotten or you may need last minute. If you are a smoker there is no place for you to get cigarettes or lighters. You may ask waiters/waitresses and staff but they will not always give you theirs. Each taxi trip at the lowest is $12 one way. If you plan to go to the beach or pool in the evening or early morning you will need insect repellent. I got tragically bitten by sunbugs at least 30+ bites per day. ST Thomas has banned sunblock/sunscreen products that contain UV blocking chemicals oxybenzone, octinoxate and octocrylene. One may only use reef safe sunblock/sunscreen made with minerals as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Due to an issue with the airline and arriving one day later we lost our rental and I didn't want to pay $24+ to get a taxi to go to the grocery store and get a limited amount of groceries so after a quick google search I found FreshFoodsVi.com which were wonderful!! I ordered one night and the next day by 2pm they had already delivered to my room and placed everything that needed to be in the fridge in my room fridge. AMAZING!!! I highly recommend plus they deliver alcohol. Yes, you pay deliver and tip but better they deliver than me taking time off my vacation. So, I arrived to my studio and everything was PERFECT! Here is a quick review on the resort restaurants: 1. Sangrias Grill, Good food, extremely slow service, the sangrias are very blah, okay prices. If you get water they will only serve you a 8oz cup not to get refilled again. Their best drink is a pain killer. 2. Caribbean Fish Market, Excellent Costumer Service, potent drinks, delicious food, supposedly upscale but you can go with your swimsuit cover dress and its fine. Expect the daily special to be $100 The beach has lovely views but it is a small cove and its next to the yacht club.. meaning it is a man made beach.. there will be algae and rocks. They do clean it every day but there are boats near by. This is our second time at St Thomas and our beach experience at the Wyndham Lime Tree beach was so much better. Eitherway we enjoyed it lots. All staff were kind and attentive. No complaints. You are given resort waterproof bracelets which are your room key to and that rocks! I would have given a 5 out of 5 if they offered complimentary shuttles to airport/grocery store and if their beach bugs wouldn't have eaten me but most of all if they had an ammenities shop/gift store that sold bug spray. The BASICS!!! Overall, we had a great time. Lovely pool area, cute pool cascade, good restaurant food, great rooms/studio.!!!! read more

Total mixed review on this place. The beach is awesome. Third party booking: I get it is not in their control, but they Need to do better. I booked a beach front room and it was a studio with an upstairs and downstairs. I paid extra to have this space because I wanted to hang a wedding dress from the staircase. Upon arriving I was moved to a room with a Murphy bed! Yea the room didn't even have a bed. The housekeeping staff also took a case of beer, hummus and carrots from me. It was overall a horrible experience. The property itself made up for their mistakes, but not enough. read more

Honestly I don't know how this resort has such good reviews. We started in a studio in the Y building. All the rooms are interconnected with doors on both sides of your room. The first night the guys to the right had a party that was so loud they might as well have been in our room. (They did nothing wrong, but no insulation and literal holes in the walls, sounds just comes in) We weren't to upset that night until the morning when we were woke up by lovemaking that was not muffled at all! I had had it, requested room change and the staff was very accommodating. Any interaction I've had with the staff here has been excellent! So we move to X the day after, same thing, can hear a normal level conversation clearly as if they were talking from one room to the other. We can here Everytime the left room gets a text message because their phone chimes. They leave there TV on all night (at normal volume) and we have to listen to it. If anyone aboveor next to us moves any chair it sounds like a horn going off in every connected room. Not to mention all the beds that we have had are Murphy spring beds. That means anyone in 3 dimensions left,right,up down, moves on their bed, we can hear it. So no intimacy, because I don't want to put others through what we were forced to indure. We have no privacy, comfort or anyplace to have a romantic vacation. I would not recommend On top of that the restaurant and bars are never open. The pool bar is only Friday to Sunday for 4 hours a day (since we got here Sunday and it's only Thursday I've never even seen it open lol) read more

The resort was very clean, Food at the Sangeria sea side beach restaurant had some of the best food, there was always taxi service waiting if you didn't have a car. I also liked how peaceful the beach was and the Staff us freaking awesome, friendly and very helpful. Had an issue with my TV remote was able to text the staff and they responded amd helped. When we needed to check out and we was on top of hill was able to text the staff to get a ride to the office. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I wish they had beach side activities that were free with the guest. But other than that I will definitely be returning to the same hotel. read more

Beautiful resort overlooking Cowpet Bay. Rooms were clean and mostly comfortable. It's located away from the commercial areas so you'll need to taxi (ESTABLISH PRICE FIRST!!) anywhere if you want off the resort. Front desk staff does not smile, is not happy to see you, and sort of implies you're an imposition when asked for a golf cart ride to your room or a taxi to town. Employees at on site pool bar and bistro were much more friendly than lobby employees. Rooms are better than at some Worldmark locations bc of recent remodel. read more

This resort failed to live up to our expectations. We came for our daughter's 16th birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary. My wife sprained her MCL 3 weeks prior to arriving, the front desk said they did not have any rooms in the entire facility to accommodate needs for the handicapped. This was quite obvious considering the wheel chair accessible golf cart sat in front of our room with a flat tire for the first 5 days of our stay. A few days after being there we realized there was a building with a wheel chair lift, but by then we had been told none existed on the property and were settled into our room. If you like rusty gates and fences, exposed electrical wires and junction boxes, broken pool access gates that don't work and won't let you in, hot showers that are cold, guest laundry that kicks you out 9:30pm when there is no posted opening or closing times, 30 minutes to get a cheese pizza, pool bars that close at 5:30pm, no handicapped accommodations, the this is the place for you. read more

The grounds of this resort are beautiful. Tiffany at the front desk is the Best! She kept us eating well and she was a delight to see regularly. Our unit needed a little work but it didn't stop us from having a good time. Our front door didn't set well in the door frame and it required us to use a little latch lock to seal the door in the frame. The room was clean and the bedding looked fresh. I always make it a habit to pull the bedding over and down to observe the sheets. The toilet had a little rust at the bottom but everything else appeared to be clean. I would definitely stay again. Getting around the resort is Work! You will be required to walk a lot but by the time you reach your cool room, you can appreciate the workout. read more

My husband and I booked a week at the Elysian Beach Resort. We arrived in the afternoon and were told our room wasn't ready. We believe it was only so they could give us their sales pitch to buy into the time shares or whatever they were selling. Once that was over, our room was all of a sudden ready. We stopped at the bar by the pool and the bartender had trouble tearing himself away from the bachelorette party girls to get us a drink. I get it, my husband and I are in our 60's, but he barely gave us the time of day before going back to flirting. We found the room to be nice but the beach was small and not to our liking. Lots of seaweed and moored boats in the bay. We had to travel to other areas of the island and to St. John to get a decent beach experience. We were told when booking that it had a fitness center on the property. When we got there we found that there is none. My husband was very disappointed. The Caribbean Fish Market restaurant on site was expensive but lovely. Book a reservtion early if possible as it is pretty popular. We had very loud neighbors for part of our stay. And the gardening started very early, and very loudly. So I thought it was a fairly noisy place. It is situated close to Red Hook so there are restaurants and a food market nearby. The ferry terminal to St. John is located there as well. Cabs are easy to get. Although, cabbing everywhere gets a bit expensive. If you are used to all-inclusive resorts, like we are, you will be unhappy here. read more

I had a great time here. The rooms were decent and the staff was nice. The pool look much bigger in the pictures but it was ok. Beach look nice. The rental place had a lady name Jess who help us with more than just rentals. She gave us a lot of info about some of the hot spots on the island. She recommend bars, restaurants, beaches and a cab driver. I hate to say with all the beautiful things on the island some of the most memorable moments was with this cab driver. PRINCE AMIR has a very clean van and a party vibe to it. He was very friendly and had great knowledge about the island. My family can't thank you enough for all you've done for us. The pool is a nice size and the hot tub when it's peaking at 104 degrees is awesome. The rooms, many of which have been updated, are good. MOSQUITOS FLY RIGHT IN with no screens~ I came here with high expectations, so I am sad that there have been some problems. I am sitting on the balcony of my studio unit at the resort as I write this and enjoying the evening, except for the mosquitos. The biggest problem is that in the Wyndham owned timeshares (in this complex there are some private condos too) the management has decided to do away with screens on the sliding glass doors. I have a big problem with this since I am here to enjoy the wonderful weather. It has been comfortable both day and night without air-conditioning which is why I'm here in the first place. HOWEVER WITHOUT SCREENS THE MOSQUITOS FLY RIGHT IN during the evening and at night. Bug spray helps, but this is a nice enough place that there should be screens. Seems pretty basic to me since there are a couple of serious, mosquito borne illnesses here that we all want to avoid. I have spoken with several nice employees about this and the story I have been hearing is that we'll look into it or it is corporate policy... I will not be staying here again nor will I be recommending it to my friends who will be coming to visit me after I buy a condo nearby. My room is one of the few that has a small, partial view of the water, mostly I can see the roof of the building between me and the water. This is actually better than the most of the lower units that have no breeze or view. Since rooms are not assigned until you arrive you take your chances with what you get. I'm renting from a timeshare owner and have discussed this with him and overall he has some major concerns about this and how the place is being run and maintained. The fridge in my unit died day two of my stay and I am happy to say that it was replaced with a brand new one the same afternoon. I get little or no ATT cellphone signal in my room, but 3-5 bars when outside near the road. I think it is due to the cement building construction that is so common around here. Also I see that Wyndham says this is next to the yacht club, actually it is not. Close. but not next to. You need to drive or walk less than 5 minutes, along a somewhat rough path along the shore to get there while going in front of the Cowpet Bay West Condos. Nor are the limited beach toys free as another reviewer mentioned. You can rent them by the hour or as part of a package. In the past I have stayed at a condo called Cowpet Bay West. It is right next door to the Elysian, with all the same fun stuff, including use of the Elysian's very nice pool. Most units there have good to great water views, are much larger 2-3 bedroom units, nice kitchens, etc. If you want to keep the doors and windows shut tight and leave the AC on all the time you should have no problem with bugs and have a good visit. If you want fresh air and better views stay next door at Cowpet Bay West or Cowpet Bay East. The cost may be a bit more or even less depending on the unit you rent and time of year. read more

I wish I could rate this hotel with zero stars! This was frankly the worst hotel stay I've ever had. The only positive aspect was the view from our room. We had nice ocean view from our balcony. The service was horrible. The person at check in was very unprofessional and flirtatious. We arrived around 1 pm and the front desk clerk told us that it's going to take no more then an hour for our room to be ready. After more then an hour we came back only to find out that the room is not ready and the front desk clerk literately told us "I don't know when your room us going to be ready. Maybe an hour or maybe more. I don't know" I mean seriously who says that to a paying customer? The hotel itself is very outdated. The room had this weird musty smell and the furniture was all scratched up and sticky...yikes!!! We stayed for 3 nights and our room was cleaned for ZERO times. Cool ha? One night we called and asked for additional shampoo and of course we never got it. By the third night we noticed these weird bites that in think are from beg bugs. This hotel has to be closed down for extermination and serious renovation. Oh and by the way for all these luxuries we were charged additional $22 dollars of resort fees. Awesome! Found a great deal on Airbnb and I was ecstatic once we arrived. The location was gorgeous. I loved being just steps from the private beach. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that it smelled like roach spray when we first arrived. There was a small gym available. They promoted lots of activities including Yoga on the beach twice a week which was very enjoyable. Definitely recommend this as the place you stay when you visit the islands. Was very nice to hang out down in the bar on our last night there chatting with locals, visitors and the staff then being able to hang out on the beach and walk back to our room. It was very quite and calm the whole time we were there. read more

Booked this room through airbnb.com (which is a story for another time) and was so delighted that the key us check in at 10am (usual check in is 4pm). We originally stayed with friends but needed a spot for alone time on our last night. This place was perfect for that! June must be off season because there weren't a ton of people there. I'm sure that is due to it being sooooo hot! The private beach is awesome. The hotels run along some timeshares so it's a gated community which is nice. The beach is almost a mile of lawn chairs some hammocks 2 bars, one with food and one fine dining place (not the best seafood I've had), a pool, hot tub, tennis & volleyball court and much more for day rentals. All of the staff was very nice and accommodating. Everyone here is from all over the world it's so intriguing to talk to them all and get their back stories of how they came to live on the island! I honestly wish we'd spent more of our vacation here! Oh and the price was very affordable. Did I mention the rooms were very nice and clean and spacious and soooo nicely air conditioned. We have been to St Thomas several times and this was my first experience with the spa at the Elysian Resort. I had some terrible back pain and the spa manager Waulene went above and beyond! She was able to call in Donna the same day I went down to the spa. Donna asked the right questions to maximize my massage and help alleviate some of my back pain. Both Waulene and Donna were incredible ladies to work with! I would definitely recommend a visit to the spa at the Elysian wether you need some kinks worked out or just to enjoy a relaxing environment! Be sure to see the manager Waulene and have her set you up with Donna! You won't be disappointed! Thank you again ladies! read more
