Our own private lomo (included in the rate) met us at St Thomas airport and took us to Red Hook where we took the ferry to St John. There Albion met us, took us on a quick tour of the island, stopped at Starfish Market to pick up staples, and then on to Bluebitch Villa. "Bluebitch" is impeccably clean, spacious and has everything you'll need for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.  A fully equipped kitchen (even a bbq), wonderful views, and a private beach that became our go-to place for a morning cup of coffee, afternoon swim or great place to read a book and watch the sun set.  We wanted to experience the culture and special spots of St. John and the information and suggestions provided were very helpful and gave us lots of ideas for our adventures around the island.   Thank you for helping create some amazing memories and a refreshing week in St. John Albion and Ann were gracious and welcoming and they made us feel like family. We'll definitely be making this our yearly vacation spot.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! THE ABSOLUTE WORST!…read more WARNING: DO NOT BOOK VILLA TAMARINDO! DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR! On July 15, 2025 I reserved Villa Tamarindo, an entire home on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, owned by Michael Feierabend, through Airbnb from December 23, 2025 to January 1, 2026 with a deposit of $1,380.90 for a total cost of $6,904.47. On Monday November 10, 2025, four months later, I received an email from my credit card company returning my deposit, after Michael Feierabend cancelled my reservation. Very soon after making the reservation, I had booked and paid almost $4,000.00 for Airfare in addition to $1,500.00 for a Jeep Rental, so at this point, I couldn't even change the dates without additional fees. This vacation was a graduation present for my daughter and needless to say, she was extremely devastated and disappointed since she had already seen photos of the home and was looking forward to this once in a lifetime graduation present. Feierabend suggested I "look for another home on St. John, as there must be something available," when he of all people should know that Christmas and New Year's is by far, the absolute busiest time of the year on St. John and there's not much available at all, at this now very late date, especially a house comparable to Villa Tamarindo. So much so in fact, that Airbnb sent me several other options with one being an actual empty treehouse! I really had to scramble and the best that I was able to come up with at this late date, was a crummy one bedroom condo for basically the same price as the 2 bedroom 3 beds 2 baths Villa Tamarindo home. What this comes down to is TOTAL NEGLIGENCE by Feierabend who states he received a check before my reservation, so he actually went around Airbnd and Airbo, but to notify me FOUR MONTHS LATER, a very short time before the trip at the busiest time of the year, RUINING MY 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER'S GRADUATION PRESENT was TOTALLY DERELICT! The least he should have done was to compensate me several thousand dollars but ALL HE HAD TO OFFER WAS A PATHETIC SORRY!! Lastly, when I complained to Airbnb, they said they were going to ban him from the site but THEY LIED AND NEVER DID! AGAIN! THE ABSOLUTE WORST! DO NOT BOOK VILLA TAMARINDO! MICHAEL FEIERABEND CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!

"Beyond Our Expectations. Wonderful!"…read more What we loved about it: - Basket of fresh fruit, crackers and cheese, chips, wine waiting for us upon arrival (so we didn't have to rush out to get provisions the first evening). There were even packages of coffee in the freezer for the next morning's cup of coffee. So thoughtful! - Beautiful, beautiful grounds - landscaping, pool, patio, bacci court (yes!) - Well designed and decorated interior with dining table on the terrace overlooking Cruz Bay, kitchen open to the living area and wall of glass doors looking out onto the terrace and the bay. - Loved the two master suites - no "fighting" over the nicer bedroom -- with the en suites and open showers. Really appreciated the high-end toiletries, the big towels, and the beach towels. - Great cooking facilities. We cooked breakfast every day and dinner 5 of the 7 days we were there - used the kitchen and the grill on the patio. Ate outside every morning/evening. - Loved the pool, sitting on the terrace, lounging in the sunshine. - Mike (property manager) recommended taking a bottle of wine and some bread and cheese up the trail behind the house to the top of the hill to watch the sunset. We did this several times and each time was a delight. - Located outside Cruz Bay, it was a quick and easy drive to and from the villa. We rented from Conrad rental, which allowed free parking in Cruz Bay at their location (at least they did the week we were there). What we hated about it: - Leaving

They pulled out all the stops! The view, as you can see from the pictures was spectacular. When you park, there is an area on the lower level where the first bedroom is, and then the door next to that is the game room. Going up the the stairs to the main entrance you'll find the main part of the house. There are only two bedrooms connected to this part of the home. If you are a person who goes to bed early, or likes to sleep in, you may want to choose another room. The main area does not have a restroom, you have to either go in the outdoor bathroom, or go in your room. Every room is named after one of the beaches. There are a total of 6 rooms. Each room has it's own bathroom and outdoor shower. There are some rooms with indoor showers as well. Only some of the rooms have a television, but I didn't find any reason to watch TV, except when we watched the Lions game and we did that as a group. The play room has a bar area (surprisingly though, no refrigerator, which would be my only recommendation.) There is a shared bathroom in the play room. There is a pool table, Foosball table, and darts. There is a TV with video games. The honeymoon suite is huge with an very big bathroom and both an indoor and outdoor shower. My room was the Francis room. You could get to that floor either by a winding staircase from the pool area (which was quite slippery some evenings) or by entering through the game room. There is a door that divides my room from the hallway entering the game room and one of two washers and dryers. The door was not up though, which did make my room less private. No big deal, except you can be taking a shower, and someone doing laundry is just a few feet away from you. Not a lot to shield you. But hey, the exhibitionist in me didn't care that much. The view while showering is simply stunning. If you are looking for an adventurous vacation destination, check out Island Stones.

    - - - June, 2025 Visit…read more- - - Summary: - great staff and property - Nice rooms - Great pool, with food and drink options at the pool bar - Beautiful beach, with sea hammocks (better than a raft), kayaks and more - On-site Marketplace with food made there - pizzas, sandwiches (and I think some breakfast food, too) - Grocery store - Dolphin Market (Chocolate Hole location) less than 5 minute walk from lobby, less than 10 minutes from furthest room - Two on-site restaurants - Disc golf, tennis and more - Internet/wifi - - - The Property - - - The Westin St. John is located on Great Cruz Bay, with most of the rooms, and the pool, located close to the water; three buildings to each side of the central pool. The property extends away from the water up a hillside, and there are some there rooms / buildings there, too; it appears they may have a bit of a different view with their slightly higher elevation (30-50 feet above, approx). The lobby, MVCI tour, workout room, and Mango Deli are in a building in between the two groups of rooms. The arrival Taxi will drop you at the lobby. The departure taxis have a pickup space next to the lobby, up a few stairs; if stairs are a challenge, they can meet you at the bottom. - - - Getting there - - - There is no airport on St. John; arrival is by sea, by ferry or another boat. Most guests will arrive via St. Thomas; ferries are also available from St. Croix (USVI) and the British Virgin Islands. There are two ferry options, both from the same dock at Red Hook on the east side of St. Thomas): 1. Westin ferry... arrives at the Westin's dock... disembark and walk to check-in... cost multiple times more than public ferry 2. Virgin Island Ferry / Public ferry... multiple departure locations to get to STJ; arrives one bay to north of the Westin; about than a mile away, in as the crow flies; 5-10 min drive... taxis available at dock throughout the day... $6-$12 per person per way... even with taxi will be much less expensive option; remember tip money for the ferry crew who handles your bags for you Both ferries offer Charlotte-Amalie to St. John routes, seasonal. - - - Check-in - - - Welcoming! Shania sped us to our room. We were here for our anniversary; when we arrived to the room, the bellhop presented us with a bottle of wine - so nice. Thank you, Shania! The room was also fantastic, with an ocean view of Great Cruz Bay - so peaceful and relaxing. - - - The Room - - - This is our first visit to a Westin vacation club; lone noticeable difference compared to a Marriott vacation club... most MVCI have kitchens... is that the Westin kitchen only has a two-burner stove and no oven; place settings for 6. The living room is a little smaller than elsewhere and not cramped. Otherwise the rest is standard MVCI: - 2 bedrooms, one king and two full sized beds- 2 bathrooms- Laundry- Kitchens with servings for 6 and all the utensils you need; refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, microwave and coffee machine.. with coffee available; just ask housekeeping for more / anything else- Patio table and chairs with a viewRecommendation: bring a Bluetooth speaker for music. - - - Food, groceries - - - Mango deli offers a good selection of food, and also souvenirs. They will make pizza, sandwiches, and even breakfast food for you. Otherwise it's a good selection; more than a typical MarketPlace, and not quite as much as a grocery; you could readily shop here for most of your needs and not need a grocery during a week's visit. The Mango Deli team is friendly and helpful. - - - Food, restaurants - - - The Westin has a sit-down restaurant, Lemongrass; it looked quite nice; we just did not get a chance to dine here. Snorkels Bar & Grill, at the pool, makes great burgers & fries, and drinks. - - - The Pool - - - Nice and well-sized. Also surrounded by trees, so you can definitely get sun, and if you need shade, you can relocate into the shadow of a palm tree. The activities team hosts trivia games and more. There is a volleyball net, too. - - - The Beach - - - The Westin has a beautiful view of Great Cruz Bay! The sand is nice and soft. The activities team offers hammocks, which are like rafts, but better... a pillow for neck and feet; the rest is a mesh that suspends you just under the water, letting you get sun without drying out - nice! The activities team offers beach games, too. You can rent kayaks; there is night kayaking, too. The Surf... not so much We've been blessed to visit a few Caribbean islands and they seem similar... beauty all around; but for surf, not so much. The tides are only six inches to a foot variation, which does not lead to many waves. You'll surely enjoy relaxing to the sounds of the water lapping at the shore. But for boogie boards, leave yours at home. - - - Thank you! - - - Thank you to Shania and all the team at the Westin St. John for being so welcoming! See you soon. ----- ----- -----
