We each were able to paint a design onto a tile and the owner helped us with technique and colors. Overall a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend. The whole experience was about 2-2 half hours. We get to pick up our tiles two days later. loved it !

Um not very pleasant…read more Came here for 1 night and that was more than enough. I had stayed at a different place in Lisbon a week prior when I first arrived and that place was much nicer. This place is a bit old and run down. The check in process was super slow. Once I got into the room, it smelled so bad, like 20 year aged dirty socks! Absolutely pungent. The sheets looked pretty clean but the whole room was very muggy. Now, they do charge for shampoo conditioner, soap, towel, everything you can think of is a la carte. So bring your own like I did. I had to ask for a blow dryer downstairs and then climb up the stairs back to the bathroom only to find that ALL of the plugs in the bathroom was dead. Then I went down stairs to let the front desk person know, only to be told I had to cook another flight of stairs to a different floor to use their bathroom. Not cool! The bathroom and shower is reasonably clean. There's no hot water kettle in the kitchen to make coffee or tea.

The only problem that we experienced was, that during our 6 night stay, the restrooms in both of our rooms had a strong odor which kept coming back. The staff was very helpful and tried to make it go away, but it never really disappeared. Also, some parts of the hotel, such as the stairways, could use some TLC as it is pretty worn out. The breakfast buffet was okay, and the lady who works in the kitchen, "Mama", is so kind, funny and cheerful. The hotel is located in a very good area of Lisbon, and it has an amazing view over the city. I can recommend this hotel! Our daughter…read moreinjured her knee earlier on our vacation, and Rui went out of his way to make sure that she was taken care of and included despite her limited mobility over some tricky terrain. On top of that, Rui took our input and created a great day for us. (You like wine, let's stop here for a taste instead of seeing this). It was better than a 5* experience, but that's the highest rating I can give. Highest of recommendations. I can't imagine a better way to see and experience Sintra and its surrounds.

He picked us up at our hotel at the agreed upon time in his very comfortable large SUV. He had waters and power bars waiting for us for the long drive and even stopped for coffee and breakfast on the way since we had missed our breakfast at the hotel. The day was jam packed full starting with the boat tour of the caves and continuing with him driving us to various lookout points and small towns along the coast sharing with us his beautiful country. He recommeded a restaurant for our meal stop and made sure we were settled in at our table with a view before he left us to enjoy a seafood feast that he also recommended. After lunch he resumed showing us wonderful view points and georgeous towns while working our way back to Lisbon. He even made sure he timed a stop to watch the sunset followed by gelato. Rui is the perfect tour guide and he gave us a memorable day exploring this beautiful country!!!

Loved my stay here!!…read more This place is in a perfect location. I really enjoyed myself here. It is really close to the Rossio Train Station. Ubers had a bit of an issue finding it, so it might be easier to walk over to the Starbucks at the Rossio Train station so that it is easier for a pickup. My room was very clean and fresh. It was really well appointed, but a bit cramped given that the armoire was right next to the bed and there wasn't much in the way of easily accessible storage. Hair dryer is there and there were slippers and robes too. What would have made the room perfect for me would have been washcloths, but given the fact that most European hotels don't have them, I am not counting that against the hotel. They say that check-in was at 3, but they managed to get me into my room at 11, so I was REALLY thankful for that!! This place has an elevator, which is helpful because the entry level is considered zero, so even level one is up stairs. Now for the couple of drawbacks... 1) There is a very loud restaurant right next to the hotel, so there is a constant beat you can hear and feel in the rooms facing the street. Thankfully, this is turned off at 9:30 at night. The windows are sound proofed, and they do A LOT toward drowning that out, but make sure to have earplugs if you need to recover from jet lag with a nap during the day. 2) When I went to check out, they tried to charge me for waters out of the mini-bar that I did not take. Be aware of that. They did remove them from my bill, but it made me leave with a bit of a sour feeling after an otherwise lovely stay. 3) You will get 2 keys on check-in with one being to activate the electricity in the room and the other for entry to the hotel after hours and to your room. The maid took away the second key when I left it in the room, so be prepared that the key is likely to be removed if you leave it in the device when you leave. Had I not had these few drawbacks, I'd give this hotel 5 stars. If I ever make it back to Lisbon, I would definitely consider this hotel again. Great stay!!

Location is key!!…read more I stayed here on my last nights in Lisbon. This hotel is directly in Rossio Square. Near the Rossio metro station, in the middle of the Baixa shopping area. Super easy to find and a short walk from everything you need. The staff here is so helpful! I was able to book a day trip to Sintra with the hotel pretty easily. I felt so taken care of! If you're hungry, there is a restaurant on the second floor. If you want your own groceries there are several grocery options nearby as well as restaurants and eateries. Also the rooms are themed so well and the beds are so comfortable. I would stay here again!

We booked the small group walking tour on our first morning in Lisbon so that we could get a better understanding of the city and the culture and the history. We were incredibly impressed by Daniel Ribeiro who was our tour guide. His knowledge was really impressive and we learned so much on our three hour plus tour. He took his time and seemed to really enjoy showing us all the city. And best of all, he gave us some fantastic recommendations that we used a lot for the rest of our trip. Next we wanted to explore Sintra and get out of the city for a day. So we also signed up for the day trip to Sintra and Cascais. This was a great way to get to see Sintra and Cascais with an additional stop to see the most western part of Europe. The day itself was a little cloudy but it was April in Portugal. The palace was still incredible and what made it so great was our guide Andres. Unlike more tours where they drop you off and say meet you back in an h our, Andres actually acts as your tour guide through the palace and his knowledge was just so helpful in making us understand the history of it all. It was very appreciated. At the meeting place at the start of the day, there were so many people going on this tour, but we were split up into much smaller groups of like 6 people and each assigned a tour guide. It was all very well organized.

Everything is so cosy and ammenities and breakfast lovely. Fresh pressed juices, homemade bread and cake and cookies. Sadly my daughter had 3 nights with throwing up and Juan and the kitchen helped with care and boiling rice, making tea and toast and last day we got a free room to stay before our departure. The assortment of offerings during breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. The only drawback to our otherwise wonderful stay was the sound of footsteps of guests in the rooms above us given the pristine wooden flooring. Hats off to Casa Amora. The room was clean, bed and sofa comfortable, AND it included a lovely buffet breakfast every morning! The location is quite central to shopping and restaurants as well as a lovely park across the street. We walked into the park with a friend who took us to the casual dining spot for an evening beverage. Not far away is a great shopping building with a market downstairs and department store in the main level. Service is excellent here!

This is a nice but very American hotel in Lisbon. We got a premium room and it was mostly pretty…read morenice all around. Generally the staff is great and classy. The restaurant was a good choice but the bar was a hit and miss. Either dead and boring or taken over by Karaoke or a huge loud tour group. The big problem we had was the bathtub and housekeeping. There was a big learning curve on using the the shower and spout hardware which was funny at first but became a hassle. But I almost killed myself on our last morning in the shower before going to the bus to Porto! The maid kept moving my shave case all the way to the other side of the gd vanity away from the shower!! So that morning I forgot my shaver and had to get out wet to go retrieve it. The non slip mat in the shower slipped and I fell catching my leg over the tub, hitting my head on the tub while falling on my back and twisting my neck. I ended up with a bruised inner leg that is not healing and lucky to not have had a head injury. Mgmt felt bad when I told them about it and to have housekeeping quit moving people's stuff around but essentially nothing came of my complaint! Nothing. I think the mgr was just glad I didn't sue them. I've been in pain since so I should! Also on Monday morning a huge conference and one small one literally took over the hotel from Sunday night through the week! Couldn't enjoy the bar or breakfast buffet at all. Hectic and LOUD! Dont stay here if you are there during the week and don't trust their Tub mats!! Restaurant was nice though and great Mgr that I got to know a bit. But we won't be staying there again for sure!
