This night in Montreal was freezing and most places were already either closed or empty, but Cluck Clucks was still there with people chowing down. The chicken here was a perfect golden crisp on the outside. The inside was juicy and so tender that meat literally ripped like scallops. I kept ripping it apart like the satisfying feeling of ripping apart fresh bread. As a fried chicken connoisseur, my goal is to find a local fried chicken establishment that surpasses Cluck Clucks, but that goal has not been met. If there is one thing i love to mix up, it's Chicken and Waffles ! Cluck cluks has a fully halal menu, a wide array of sauces and so many delicious dishes! Ok, ok, the fried chicken was good. We stuck with fried chicken and ordered some fries and waffles on the side to keep our 5 year old happy. she enjoyed the waffles and fries with a side of small bites of chicken. I tried a piece of her waffle later and thought, "yuck." My hubby, the fried chicken aficionado, said the fried chicken was very good. I agreed. But the problem with fried chicken is that I always feel a little sick after eating a few pieces and need something to freshen up the palate. Their coleslaw was not the thing to help with this as it was the creamy kind...so I had to resort to drinking a pop! A pop! But I digress. Yes, the chicken here was good. 3.5 STARS I went here last week with a group of friends. It's an unassuming place and when you walk in, holy cluck is it orange everywhere! I think one of the staff said it used to be a laundry mat. Located in a strip mall looking place, we came here looking for something different and as other reviews stated, "the best chicken and waffles." We were greeted by friendly staff who helped us pick out our meal - we ordered the "cluck yeah" sandwich, which was a jalapeño waffle sandwich with fried chicken, coleslaw and their special sauce, and a side of fries. Favourite fried chicken place in the city. I came here a million years ago for a private tasting and I've loved this place since. I've been here several times since and I've gotten Mother Clucker, Cluck Yeah, Clucking Little Waffles, 1lb of wings, and all the sides. Mother Clucker is probably my favourite. I order it almost every time I go. I love having a little bit of everything so it's perfect for me - sauce, waffle, chicken, side. The waffle is soft but it's definitely got the waffle flavour. Their coleslaw is good, their fries are good. I'm not a huge fan of wedges so I don't get them. Chicken is just bomb. Crispy skin, juicy meat. I can't. I just love their chicken. Cluck Yeah is basically the sandwich version of Mother Clucker minus bones. I love Mother Clucker so of course, this is good too. The bone in chicken is juicer than the chicken breast in the sandwich though but this one's got all that saucy goodness. I usually get my order to go to eat in the car on my way home so I prefer to eat Mother Clucker and hold a piece of chicken vs a huge sandwich. Clucking Little Waffles reminds me of doughnuts but are crunchy. They're pretty good but I rarely get it because a combo alone is already very filling,. I usually get my orders to go through the Ritual app and the orders usually take 15-25 minutes which is fine for me because that's how long it takes me to get there during rush hour, but a FYI, in case you're closer than I am. The chicken comes hot and crispy so it's best to eat it right away but it's still decent by the time I get home (45 minute - 1 hour drive). The only reason why I'm not giving them 5 stars (though I really want to) is because the last few times I've been, the coleslaw was pretty gross. The presentation of twacos looks epic but the taste of all the waffles was mediocre, something we could probably just make at home. It wasn't really light/airy or crunchy, just a bit on the doughy side. Out of all 3 dishes, the plain chicken thigh without any dressing from Little Clucker was the best. A very simple fast food outlet. Barebone decor and simple menu, which are basically variation of number of chicken pieces, boned vs no bones, with waffles + your choice of sauce. They made everything after you order so it does take about 10 minutes wait. The chicken is indeed incredibly crispy and juicy. The waffle is also very yummy, savoury and sweet at the same time. I had the coleslaw which was actually quite fresh. The potato wedges were not so remarkable. While i really like it, the concept of eating chicken and waffle tgt baffles me lol. Having to use knife and fork to cut up the waffle means that the paper on the serving tray gets disintergrated. And then have to switch to eat the chicken with hand (yes i am barbaric ) just didn't feel like a cohesive experience to me. Plus, i think the waffle really fills you up. A small casual eatery tucked away on the far east side of St Lawrence market area with great tasting fried chicken and waffles! Our chicken was fried to order and came out piping hot. The waffle I had was cheese based and didn't have any sweet finish as expected. The chicken itself is decent and quite moist. I like dark meat so enjoyed it. The sauce itself is OK I think I will upgrade to the hot sauce version on the next visit. The potato wedges are huge and I didn't enjoy them much. Wow.. We were blown away. Hands down the BEST chicken on a waffle I've ever had. I ordered the chicken breast on a jalapeno waffle (cluck yeah), and it was beyond delicious. Lots and lots and lots of lightly breaded chicken on a delicious waffle with some very yummy sauces. Just the right heat. The only thing I added when I got home was some maple syrup. Can't wait to go back! We also had the onion rings which, too, were amazing. My husband ordered the Fire in the Cluck, and ordered it with suicide sauce. He found it quite hot. It was so good he ate the whole thing, but next time he will dial it down a bit. Order directly from the restaurant vs. going through an app and go pick it up. Please help this restaurant make it through this pandemic. Five stars for sure. read more
