Sadly it began to fail (Facia board warping). We reached out to Trex because we were told their warranty is amazing, this was big selling point for us six years ago. CFC was also the Trex certified installer and leading importer of Trex material in our area. Fast forward to today. It's been a nightmare dealing with CFC. CFC shrugged off our worries and sent us to Trex to file a warranty. We sent in the warranty claim and Trex denied it stating that CFC installed the entire project WRONG! Trex sent pictures of their installation manual with directions of how CFC had installed the facia facing up, exposed to the elements and it is prone to warp, which is what ours started doing. CFC has been acquired by a new owner since our initial install. I'm hearing a few people are currently suing them for their shoddy work and the installer from CFC who came out to our home stated that they have had several call backs for this same problem, improper installation. Cameron, the new owner is combative and continually expresses frustration that he is being held accountable for the past owners mistakes. As I told him, he chose to keep the name and claim he has been in business for 30 years (he personally has not), so he has inherited their mistakes. He is blaming Trex and stating they changed their manuals after their initial installation. This is one of those companies you have to call multiple times to get the work done. It took months of reaching out to get them to finish the work. When they left the job undone and I requested they return to complete the work agreed upon before settling the bill, Cameron threatened reaching out to an attorney and put a lien on my house if I didn't pay immediately. Shocking to have someone turn and become so aggressive suddenly! He backed down after I stated I had documentation of everything we agreed upon and he thankfully sent someone the next day to finish the job. Paying thousands of dollars six years ago for initial install and then six years later being stuck paying thousands more to fix the initial mistakes has been less than ideal. It's the typical blame others for what went wrong, make lots of promises of how you'll make it right and then complain and drag your feet about fulfilling those promises. As a consumer I'd avoid CFC and be cautious about hiring Trex Certified Installers. They are not all created equal....

Our deck took 7 days to complete from the footings to the final screw in the railing. It was so exciting to be able to see the progress leap ahead each day, especially in comparison to nothing measurable being done day by day on the rest of our remodel. Also, although some things had been quoted incorrectly in the original quote, CFC stood by the original price rather than charging additional for the upgrades. When they used less materials than originally anticipated, they actually gave us a substantial refund, which is unheard of. The deck is beautiful. Couldn't be happier with it.

I was brand new to the position and I had come into it with Kimball being put on as the property maintenance company so I didn't really know what to look for until I read our contract after about a year in the position. Upon doing so, Kimball was wasn't fulfilling their contract by: 1) not scheduling our irrigation system at all. I'd usually have to remind them to turn it on even. As a result of this, we had to replace about a third of our native grasses, shrubs, and ground cover. 2) they never checked the health of our irrigation lines. Again, they'd just turn our drip system on for the summer and that was it. The contract said they'd inspect it after every lawn mow, which was 1x weekly. As far as I could tell, that rarely, if ever, happened. 3) at first they were doing a great job of a now removal but by the end our ~2.5 year stint, they'd come out to plow our small private driveway about 2 days after a storm, which the snow would generally be melted by then. One time they even backed into our trash & recycling gate, broke it, and I had to call them about it for them to come clean. Only reason I found out was because one of the neighbors caught them in the act. On top of all the contractual troubles occurring during the first two years, I received the third year contract two months after our previous contract had expired and they tried raising our price by $100/mo. the third year. I talked to the project manager about it and we agreed that we should have a buffer year before raising the price. He sent me contract and I sent it back within the month. About 2-3 months later when I noticed I hadn't received a bill, I reached out to Kimball to find out that they had stopped servicing our property because they "did not receive a signed contract on time." This is all to say that from 2.5 years experience with them, I would avoid Kimball (and their parent company Brightview) at all costs. They did not honor their contract and because of this I constantly had to babysit them to honor their contract with us.

And after a four-year period where everything has been running great, I had to have TCC come out again to check on my 17-year-old Amana high-efficiency furnace and the blower that brings in fresh air to the burners and exhausts combustion gases to an outside port along our front wall. That fan was running but cycling on and off, and we could smell some gas there at the exhaust exit panel outside. One quick email on Sunday, the 7th, and Austin from TCC arrived Monday morning to check out our issue. After disassembling our "inducer" motor/blower (a small fan in a gas furnace that creates a draft, pulling in fresh air for combustion and exhausting dangerous exhaust gases out through the flue) housing, Austin found the problem. After 17 years of use, the blower housing drain port was clogged (spider nest? dirt? both?) Austin cleaned it all out and flushed all the rubber drain tubes as well (which were also pretty gnarly), and that fixed it! All back together and running great...and the inducer blower now stays on and runs great. We're back in business on a solid 17-year-old Amana H.E. furnace! Five stars for prompt service response, fair pricing ($287 out the door), and a pleasant, professional, and communicative repair technician...Austin. Solidly recommend TCC, and ask for Austin if you can! Five Stars! P.S.: My neighbor across the street called me the next day and said that "...her furnace has just stopped working. Who would I recommend?" I didn't hesitate to recommend TCC...and they were there later that day. Their technician replaced their main furnace blower motor at a fair price.
