I've reviewed Thompson's Comfort Connection (TCC) multiple times here over the 15+ years I've been on Yelp, and have always given them top ratings every time. And after a four-year period where everything has been running great, I had to have TCC come out again to check on my 17-year-old Amana high-efficiency furnace and the blower that brings in fresh air to the burners and exhausts combustion gases to an outside port along our front wall. That fan was running but cycling on and off, and we could smell some gas there at the exhaust exit panel outside. One quick email on Sunday, the 7th, and Austin from TCC arrived Monday morning to check out our issue. After disassembling our "inducer" motor/blower (a small fan in a gas furnace that creates a draft, pulling in fresh air for combustion and exhausting dangerous exhaust gases out through the flue) housing, Austin found the problem. After 17 years of use, the blower housing drain port was clogged (spider nest? dirt? both?) Austin cleaned it all out and flushed all the rubber drain tubes as well (which were also pretty gnarly), and that fixed it! All back together and running great...and the inducer blower now stays on and runs great. We're back in business on a solid 17-year-old Amana H.E. furnace! Five stars for prompt service response, fair pricing ($287 out the door), and a pleasant, professional, and communicative repair technician...Austin. Solidly recommend TCC, and ask for Austin if you can! Five Stars! P.S.: My neighbor across the street called me the next day and said that "...her furnace has just stopped working. Who would I recommend?" I didn't hesitate to recommend TCC...and they were there later that day. Their technician replaced their main furnace blower motor at a fair price. Josh was my repairman and he was very nice, knowledgeable and thorough with the work he was doing on my air conditioner. It's working exceptionally now! Jon, the system design estimator, did a thorough review of our home's existing system. He offered a second opinion review by one of their technicians to confirm the claim by another HVAC company that our furnace had a cracked heat exchanger and a leaking motor. Brad did a visual examination of the heat exchanger as well as a CO check. Both showed no problem. I am grateful for their honesty and recommend Thompson's highly. I plan to have them do our annual maintenance and when we need a new system have Thompson's install it. 5 Stars for honesty, transparency, and competence. read more

Very impressed with their response time. I was having them do a very simple job bye a tuneup on my heating system. They came in and did the tuneup cleaned it up like it was supposed to be and said that I was good for a couple more years with only needing a tuneup yearly. In contrast to that I had any hour service come in to do a tuneup and they did nothing but look at my system did not clean anything and gave me a list of over $3000 Of repairs that needed to be done. There is no reason to look any further for someone to repair your HVAC. This is the second time I've used Thompson's. After having called several contractors for various jobs on my home, I'd about given up on getting anyone in SLC that does what they say they will. I chose Thompson's because of their rating but also because of their 65 years in business. I've worked with 4+ star rated companies and they didn't deserve 1 star. Tom came out to see why my AC was not cooling the house. Turns out Vivint didn't connect the thermostat correctly and didn't reset the breaker on the AC compressor. Tom identified and fixed the wire and breaker issue within 5 minutes of being here. But he also checked the entire system while he was here. He found no other issues with the unit and was on his way. I don't do many reviews but I see a need for them in the SLC area where good contractors are hard to find. read more

Technician Cody showed up earlier than I expected. they gave me a 8-12 window which is fine with me I understand how that works in the repair world. He quickly found the problem and swapped out the capacitor. He had to go get the capacitor but still total time from first arrival to cold air blowing was an hour. We talked some about my ac system and he recommended the condenser get cleaned out. Since it's on the roof it never gets any attention so was pretty dirty. I didn't see it but the water running off the roof was filthy. So over all in am very impressed and satisfied. Total for the job including 3 filters was 429.00. Thompson and sons (same company) installed the current system in 99 and after a bit of research I decided to call them first. Big selling point is their 65 years of being in business. I called and scheduled an appointment for a technician to come out and look at my A/C unit. My bill had gone up $100 a month since last year and the A/C would run non stop and not cool my house. They said someone would come out sometime between 9am-12pm a 3 hr window. Josh the technician showed up right at 9am ran his diagnostics and said that i was low on Freon. They charged me $100 total to make the service call and charge the unit. Right away I could tell that the air in the house was blowing colder. Ok so I'm a few months behind but these guys replaced an AC unit for me back in April. I had 3 companies give me quotes and I felt all were honest and all would've done a good job but there was something about this company. Bill came out and spent a lot of time going over several options. He was the only one who offered a cheaper "we could see if that would fixed the leak" option which gave me the sense that he really is out to help his his customers.
