This is such a lovely theater that has all the bells and whistles added for one or a group of people to enjoy themselves. So with that being said come prepared to swipe that Visa, Mastercard, etc. because them yesterday prices are gone. It's worth every penny especially with those reclining seats. My relaxation never came this close to home.

I came here on New Years Eve on a date. It was crowded and a bit chaotic. We both wanted to grab a coffee to help us stay awake until after midnight. There was one lady working at the coffee area and several other customers. She took our orders and made our drinks while others waited to order. She really could have used some help. She struggled a bit with the coffee machine. Our drinks were good but for some reason not as hot as they should have been. We enjoyed our movie. The seats were very comfortable and reclined well. I saw that they show classic movies on Sundays and Wednesdays. They also satellite live opera. Very cool.

Love this place! Five dollar Tuesdays are the best! The food here is really good but plan ahead and be prepared to wait a bit for it especially if there are a lot of people. I've had the barbecue flatbread and the mango smoothie both were delicious. The staff here is pretty courteous and welcoming. The reclining seats really make for a great experience and are super comfortable. There's also a lot of leg room between each row.

    How's the restaurant?

It's good. Big portions (Like the nachos will feed a family of 4 big) and it's priced like you would expect a movie theater's food to be priced, but the all in all the food is really good. Bonus, the food can be placed on a tray that can be taken to…

Is this is the movie theater in Tallahassee that serves you food while you watch the movie?

Sort of. This is the theater where you can buy food and bring it on a tray to eat at your seat. They do have a far more extensive food offering than most theaters (they have a full kitchen and bar).

The employees are generally friendly, the bathrooms are clean, and did I mention that the seats are reclinable? Win-win, hello! Me, I did my part to follow in my father's footsteps by standing in front of the speakers while Grand Funk Railroad and Sly & The Family Stone played. If the sound level at the movies is any indication, then any regular movie goers are doing their part to keep hearing aid providers in business. When I have to remove my hearing aids because of the volume, then I think it's safe to say the sound is too loud. My wife had to wear her ear protection headphones as well. I still go when my wife wants to because she enjoys seeing some movies on the big screen but if it was just me then I would be happy to wait for any movie to come to streaming. When you only understand about 25% of the dialogue it's pretty hard to follow the movie and at home I can stream the sound into my hearing aids and control the volume. Plus there's always closed captioning if needed. Just like our previous experience with Oppenheimer, I will watch The Odyssey again when it's available for streaming so I can hear the dialogue. If the sound volume wasn't bad enough, there's the cost too although we did ok with a senior discount on our tickets for the 1 pm show. We did miss out on getting the "deal" on 1 large popcorn and 2 large drinks for only $27+ because we were running late and didn't want to miss the start of the movie. I thank my lucky stars. Spent that money instead on a much more satisfying meal at Sonny's BBQ after the movie. :-) This movie theater complex has been here awhile now and has already been through a major renovation when they installed reclining seats and other improvements. Now all of that is wearing out and another renovation is probably needed. The hydraulics in the first reclining seat that I tried wouldn't hold position and kept leaning further and further back. I have seen other seats that were marked not available, probably for the same reason. There are other signs of wear and tear as well. Despite all these things I must say that if they dealt with the loud sound level issue I would be inclined to come to the movies more often, at least during the day when I can get a discount on tickets. Still might have to stay away from the "deals" at the concession stand though. P.S. Our son is working as a well paid projectionist for the 70mm version of The Odyssey and says that the sound level is mandated and can't be turned down.

The IMAX staff was wonderful; very accommodating. It has been quite a number of years since I last visited the IMAX Theater to catch a show. I didn't remember how cramped the seating was :o), though the seats themselves are comfortable. Once seated, best to stay seated until the show is over; otherwise, it will be quite a task to get out, especially if one is seated in the middle of the row and the row is completely filled. All in all though, aside from the tiny inconvenience regarding the lack of space between seat rows, I think everyone pretty much enjoyed the show and the setting. Note, the documentary is on Youtube as well! I also want to give a "shout out" to Mission BBQ for providing a complimentary meal for those attending the documentary. The food was delicious; the meal consisted of: coleslaw, baked beans with brisket, mac and cheese, sausage, pulled pork, brisket, cornbread, buns - along with tea (sweet and non-sweet), lemonade, and water! Went to will call and were told to go back to the teller. Whatever. We got our tickets and sat down. Theatre is quaint, even cozy. Pretty intimate and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I believe there's a bar outside as the actual pamphlet for the play contained an alcohol menu, but seeing as we didn't partake, I wouldn't be able to give you all the details. Felt the play dragged a bit honestly. Nevertheless it was enjoyable, and well, at least the seats were comfortable. Not to mention that I went with one of my favorite people.

This theater plays movies that are popular and movies that are not widely available. I've seen some of my favorite independent films here! Any student can suggest the movies, and different organizations can suggest theirs, sop there is an interesting variety.
