I dig this theater. Chairs are comfortable. Everything is pretty clean. The food is even decent. My favorite thing is getting the combo deal with popcorn a drink and the nachos. With only 2 theater options in Tallahassee, the pickings are slim. Unfortunately, CMX isn't stepping up to be the premier theater. It's clear that minimal effort is being made to maintain the property and it really shows. The landscaping outside is completely overgrown with weeds and grass giving the place an abandoned and neglected appearance even before you walk in. Inside, while the staff is friendly, the theaters themselves are often dirty. It is not uncommon to find popcorn, wrappers, and spilled drinks still on the seats and floors from previous showings. They clearly do not clean the theaters in between showings. CMX has the potential to be great, but they don't seem to wait to even try anymore. read more

I want to give the manager on staff yesterday, Jensen, many thanks for accommodating me so I could come see a movie and plug my portable oxygen machine up to a spot in front of me. Also, thanks to the staff member I talked to on Thursday, the day before the movie, who took the time to ask the manager if I could be accommodated. Prior to being on oxygen I would take going to a movie for granted, but this assistance allowed me to take my son out to the movies when I would have otherwise been restricted to watching from home. read more

The theater (13) was unbearably hot, and when the AC finally turned on, it barely made a difference before turning off again. My friend and I were literally sweating while trying to enjoy the movie. I don't recommend going to CMX unless they fix the heat issue. read more

Worst concession experience ever in my 50 years of going to movie theaters. Line in back. One register open and the guy running acted like it was first day using any type of technology. The theater auditoriums are fine but it's ruined by the horrible concession experience. It was great when the theater first opened but they decided to fix something that wasn't broken. Well, we bought our tickets online, went into and saw sign that said 'buy tickets'. We had our tickets. What the sign should have said was 'scan your prepurchased ticket here'. But it didnt , resulting in unneccesary confusion. The concessions stand has changed procedures. When we attended years ago. you'd get your drink, get your popcorn and go around to the cash register to pay for it. I imagine some class of people were getting the goods but NOT paying for it so CMX changed their procedures where you pay for it first, then go over to the popcorn/drink station to get the product you paid for. And thats fine except we never saw a sign indicating how the heck you did all that. That resulted in more confusion. After we got our products and were going to our movie, I saw an older couple standing there mystified at the whole operation. I told them, 'go over there, order your stuff and pay for it there and then take you receipt over to the other side , show them the receipt and they will give you what you ordered. Again, to someone who hasn't been there before, the operation is mysterious. On another note, in the theatre, the air conditioning is cranked down so low you dont need ice in your drink. I saw two people, one had a towel over her legs, the other some kind of a blanket. Fricking cold. You'd think someone from the there management would take a thermometer ( the device that measures temperature), take it in there and actually see how cold it is and how uncomfortable it makes people. They could save electricity costs. It's mid summer now but if I go to another movie there, Im carrying my winter coat and a hat. OH btw, Disclosure Day is a terrible movie, for the first time my wife and I looked at each other and made the decision to just cut our losses and leave that horrible movie. read more

My family of 6 went here during spring break. ordered almost $90 in food and the cook told us half the food we ordered was not available. 1 of the cooks went to the register and told the cashier to refund us the items that weren't available, about $42 refund. It's now April 20, 2026 and we still have not received our refund. receipts were provided to the manager with no results. Leon county spring break was over a month ago, im pretty sure this venue has done this before, hoping people will forget or give up. We're going back to AMC. read more

My daughter gave us a gift card for several movies at Christmas. As I was juggling grandchildren, popcorn, and movie tickets, I unknowingly dropped the card. Ms Debbie, behind the ticket counter saw it happen secured the card and memorized who I was so she could give it back to me when I exited. Luckily I noticed after getting settled in our seats that I had just lost a very generous gift card. The staff pointed me to Ms Debbie, who joyfully returned the card to me. The staff was polite, helpful and delightful to work with. That's why we love coming to this theater! read more

This is such a lovely theater that has all the bells and whistles added for one or a group of people to enjoy themselves. So with that being said come prepared to swipe that Visa, Mastercard, etc. because them yesterday prices are gone. It's worth every penny especially with those reclining seats. Went in for a movie on a Monday afternoon. Theatre had maybe 5 cars in the parking lot. $20 for two movie tickets. No big deal. Prices are up everywhere. Wife and I wanted a drink and popcorn. No one is at the register. Again, I know it's a slow time so they really shouldn't have a lot of staff at that time. So we walk up to the guy at the popcorn stand, and before we said anything, he said that we have to pay before we can get anything. So we ask if someone can help us since he can clearly see that no one was at the register and he clearly was not interested in helping us. We wait for a manager who was nice to us and rung us up. 2 drinks and a popcorn and another $24 later we are in for $44. Soft drinks were kinda flat, not the worst, but it was still a little annoying. However what finally pushed me to rate this one star since I can't rate zero, the guy working the food station makes zero effort to take our receipt, zero effort to ask what we would like, zero effort to say hello, how are you. So I put the receipt down on the counter for him. He looks me square in the eyes and says "I can't read that, it's upside down." Makes zero effort to grab it, turn it around, do anything. He was not budging. After an awkward 10 seconds, I tell my wife that he couldn't read the receipt because it was upside down, so I tell him it's a large popcorn. For $44, that level of customer service from that guy is unacceptable. I will not be returning. read more

I came here on New Years Eve on a date. It was crowded and a bit chaotic. We both wanted to grab a coffee to help us stay awake until after midnight. There was one lady working at the coffee area and several other customers. She took our orders and made our drinks while others waited to order. She really could have used some help. She struggled a bit with the coffee machine. Our drinks were good but for some reason not as hot as they should have been. We enjoyed our movie. The seats were very comfortable and reclined well. Service is horrible. I ordered food 30 minutes before listed showtime. The staff gave away my order in front of me and then I had to wait another 30 minutes for a single order of pretzels which I still had to go up and ask the staff where my order was and they found it on the counter AGAIN. So at this point it the movie is over an hour in so I asked for a refund on my ticket which was refused by manager. read more

Love this place! Five dollar Tuesdays are the best! The food here is really good but plan ahead and be prepared to wait a bit for it especially if there are a lot of people. I've had the barbecue flatbread and the mango smoothie both were delicious. The staff here is pretty courteous and welcoming. I typically come because they are the only theatre that shows matinee movies now that the summer is over, except for Fridays. I ordered Dbox seating for a movie. I asked the young lady when she gave me the ticket, if it was for Dbox seating? She told me yes ..... After the movie had gotten started it darned on me it was normal seating.., I went upfront and they went to get the manager and told me to go back to my seat and they would handle it She came back and asked to see my receipt. I usually throw it away but I had it. She told me I was supposed to be in another seat and I told her it was too crowded at that spot .... I had to leave the movie to get it straight, mind you the movie is showing while all of this is going on. The manager tells me I didn't purchase a Dbox seat and there was a cost differential. I really didn't care because I came expecting it to be over $20.00 for my ticket. Why do they assume someone is hustling them??? I told him the movie was going on. I was told I wouldn't miss much. Huh???????? They finally charged me the difference told me to select a seat and clicked a switch to activate it ..... He did apologize but for sure it wasn't my fault!! Typically they bend over backwards to speak and to accommodate you. Dbox seating n refreshments for ONE is about $40.00! I was good for that but not again. What's not to like? Modern theater with a bar serving beer & wine (probably mixed drinks, to) that you can take to your seat. A large cafeteria style food court with offerings from pizza & burgers along with the usual popcorn, soft drinks and candy. The theater is clean. Large, comfortable reclining seats that allow guests to move about without making the entire row stand up. The screens are clean. No tears. And the sound is excellent. Tonight I went to enjoy a movie and then was told they are "out of popcorn". So I spoke with the manager about getting a refund because one of the highlights of a movie theater is the popcorn. The manager handled the situation well and refunded us for the movie and still asked us to enjoy it then proceeded to give us a coupon for a free movie, while also giving us free food and drinks. Even though we didn't get to enjoy the popcorn we still had a great time due to the cmx staff. read more

Have always loved going to the movies and was pretty excited about getting back out there - safely. The theatre went from physically having to give customers their drinks and only serving popcorn several months ago, to now allowing patrons to get their own drinks (sodas) again and almost full access to kitchen food items. Though the dynamite shrimp has always been my favorite, there is apparently somewhat of a shrimp shortage (LOL!). In any case, we ordered chicken quesadillas and bbq chicken wings, along with the popcorn (is something about the smell of popcorn!). The movie experience was nice - with always keeping socially distanced seating in mind. Also, all of the staff were wearing masks, which is a good thing. Though the chicken quesadillas were tasty, the sauce on the chicken wings was unlike any "bbq" sauce I had ever tasted - and this is not a compliment. Even the coloring was a bit off. When we picked up the food, I specifically asked if the sauce was bbq and not buffalo. And I was assured it was bbq sauce; never ordering that again. Also can't use the ticket kiosk and no reward points are being applied while the app is being reworked. On a previous visit there was no butter for popcorn. We went to a pre-opening event that included a movie screening. And I must say I'm a bit torn as to how many stars to give. The place looks great with a large, full bar and a cafeteria style food area. Food and drink were provided and both were good. The drinks ranged from wine/beer to classic cocktail to house speciality cocktails. We tried a number of them and all were tasty. The food was better than I expected. The pizza is made in house and while not the greatest, it was surely better than what you'll find at other theaters. The beer sliders were excellent, while the fried chicken tenders were quite bland. Prices seemed high compared to restaurants, but average for what I'd expect at a theater (note out food was comped as samples). Unlike other CMX theaters they don't deliver food to your seats. Rather, you'll either grab it from cafeteria line or kitchen window (they'll page you when ordered food is ready) and you'll carry it to your seat. The seats do not have built in trays, but I am told that the tray you get from cafeteria will fit into cup holder. As these were not yet ready I can't speak to it. The seats were just ok. I think AMC is more comfortable. They only have 1 overall recline button so you can't recline back and foot rest independently. On the other hand the recline buttons are lit so you can see them in the dark (unlike AMC which, for reasons I can't understand, use unlit buttons). There is a ton of legroom on each row, which is nice. But there aren't any trash receptacles inside the theater which means your food debris (and tray) are with you for the entire movie. We were in their Dolby Atmos theater (which includes sound from the ceiling). The screen is spectacular. The worst thing for me is the last row, where we sat. You can see from my picture that the last row has terrible acoustics. The rear surround speakers are mounted **in front of** the rear speakers do the back row doesn't get true surround sound. And the ceiling Atmos speakers end before the back row so you don't enjoy Atmos sound. Such a design flaw is inexcusable in a new theater and likely speaks to them wanting to fit in as many seats as possible without regard to everyone's experience. Avoid the back row (and even next to last row due to Atmos speaker placement), So it's a mixed bag, but worth 4 stars for now. read more

My husband and I attended one of the soft opening preview nights and we can't wait to return & experience this theater again. The menu offerings are impressive. The food we sampled this evening barely scratched the surface of what is possible to purchase. We tried pizza, sliders, shrimp, chicken tenders, Philly-style cheese steak - delicious! The bar is serving Proof on tap as well as creative cocktails with fresh fruit & juices. We watched the bartender muddle watermelon & mint for mojitos - yum! Whoever is training the staff deserves kudos. The employees all gave the sense that they were happy to be part of something special and new. I loved the wide aisles in the theater - even with the reclining seats extended someone can walk in front of you. This is a nice plus! This new theater is beautiful, spacious, and offers an array of delicious eats to enjoy with your choice of film. Even the restrooms located inside the theater hallway are well-lit & attractive. We enjoyed our first visit to CMX! Beautiful facility and clean. We stopped at the bar for drinks, and ordered the bread pudding to bring with us into the theatre. It was pretty crowded but the bartenders did a great job attending to everyone. The drinks were good. The bread putting was not. The texture was way off. Clearly this was frozen and popped into an oven. They put whipped cream on the side instead of ice cream. It was sort of mushy and almost like a flan texture. Tasted very sweet. I won't be ordering it again. The seats in the theatre were great, they recline and were clean. The sound and picture was fantastic. We'll be back! read more

It's as my first time here. I definitely loved that I can reserve a seat. That way you don't have to fight for a good one when trying to watch a high interest movie. I came here on December 25th. I was sorry for the staff that they had to work but their spirit was high up. Very friendly for sure. Great recliner seats, love that you can bring your wine and beer in, as well as your food. Great to have a fancy theatre in town now! As much as I love nostalgia and a bit of loving wear on a building, theatres just do not age well and Regal is nearing the end of its rope for me. AMC also is alive, and the only thing alive, in a dying mall and surrounded by very much dead retail spaces and now going to be home to government offices, a final kiss of death. Cue CMX Cinemas Fallschase! This brand new theatre is gorgeous and home to a full restaurant and bar, besides the theatre. The seats are armchair style recliners and make for super comfortable viewing experience. The online booking for tickets is super convenient and you always know how full the theatre is going to be. Yes, tickets are pricey at about $12 on a regular night, but that seems to be on par with nationwide prices. Tuesdays, though, they offer $5 tickets for all ages, so make sure to book in advance for the newest and most popular movies, as seats go fast. Looking forward to coming here more often! read more

This theatre is amazing. Yes, the tickets can be a little on the pricey side, and I'm still waiting for some rewards service where you don't have to pay a "convenience fee" to order online ahead of time, but they do $5 tickets on Tuesdays for everyone, and are super great about refunds/replacement tickets. The food is delicious (the chicken quesadilla roll-up is my go-to). Also on the pricey side, but if you're willing to splurge on a meal and seat for a great flick, there's literally nothing better than dining in the theatre. Their trays make it super easy to eat, then push it away to recline and enjoy the film. When you walk in, you feel like you're in an amusement park. It's super clean and spacious. I think I prefer the AMC recliners, but these are almost equally as nice. I've yet to find a bad seat in these theatres; every seat has a great view with no blockages. The only reasons I docked a point (honestly I wish I could do half stars) is because of the lack of rewards system- which they'll hopefully create soon- the convenience fee, and the prices. It's definitely worth the splurge, it would just be nice if you didn't have to. No matter what, I think you'll have a great time if you visit this theatre!! read more

The theaters here are outstanding. Comfortable reclining seats, and you can get up and leave a row without everyone having to lower their seats. Food choices are all good (overpriced, but is what it is) and can be taken to your theater seat. Only real complaint is the bar. It is never sufficiently staffed. If you think you are going to run in at the last minute and grab a beer before heading to your movie, you're going to miss the previews. Not only are they under staffed, but the staff that is there needs to understand people are going to a movie!! HURRY UP!!! All in all tho, it is a great place to watch a movie. WAY better than going to a sketchy, dark, empty, creepy mall to watch a movie! read more

Im sure this movie theater will eventually work out their kinks but until then I'll stick with AMC. The theater is new but new does not always equal better. The food ordering system makes no sense. There is no system in place that shows you where to go to order, how to pay, where to pick up your food... and it's just choas. The food is expensive. You expect that from a move theater. But, it's also not too bad. I would suggest getting dinner at a real restaurant before you go here for a movie, but if you dont have time eating here is a option. The seats arent very comfortable. Yes, they recline but they have no neck support. It also smells like burning plastic. The whole place reeks of a plasticky smell. That needs to be addressed. No one checked our tickets going in. Really. No one. I get nowadays tickets get assigned seats so if someone is in your seat obviously they arent supposed to be there but it would feel safer if there was someone checking. They also dont have a rewards program like amc so you dont get any perks for spending all that money. At least with AMC I feel like i'm earning the next reward. Hopefully they work out these issues. It's a great area and I want them to succeed. read more

I love this theater. We walked in with pre-bought tickets a few weeks ago, long enough for them to have worked out their opening kinks. This was our first time in and this is my preferred theater now. We get there, tickets on phone, and decide that we were a little early, so why not check out the bar and menu. We weren't very hungry, so we went over and sat at the bar. The bartender 'banded' us on our right wrists to indicate we are over age and can move about the theater as we please with our beer. We were pleasantly surprised by this, because it meant we could take our pitcher into the movie with us. Score! Since we opted for beer, I wanted to get something small so we ordered the truffle fries. Man we're they a nice surprise! I wasn't expecting much out of a movie theater but these were some good fries. We took our order into the movie, checked our tickets on our phone and went about our business. I wish I saw they had black serving trays for your cup holder, but we didn't bring in that much anyways. I'll remember the serving tray for next time. All in all I love this theater and the unique experience we had here. The food and beer prices are also very fair which is a huge plus. We will be back!! read more
