This location sucks! I have been to many Fifth Third Banks through out the Chicago land areas…read moreincluding other suburban areas and this is the only location that doesn't take deposits to their ATM! It did once upon a time, but now over a year now it doesn't. It is so frustrating, now you have to go inside the bank where there's only One bank teller serving both the drive through and the lobby and one personal banker. This time however, they did have three tellers on 12-28-18, with the one personal banker, and it moved much quicker than normally of course. However, I said to the teller, "This is the only bank out of many locations I have been to that doesn't take deposits, why is that?" The teller, name Samara, let roll out of her mouth very quickly, "The ATM is having issues right now and someone is coming to work on it today, they should be here soon." Yeah right, I said, but it has been like this For Ever! I know, she said, but they are coming to fix it today. When I got back inside my car, the time was 4:30 in the afternoon, and I thought to myself, I rather for her to just apologize for the inconvenience, than for her to stare me in my face and let that bold face lie come out of her mouth! Again, this is what the Black community faces with almost every business that their customers turn from one race to the Black race--we get treated like SHIT!

Then when they found out they had no grounds to keep the refund, they lied to me about when they sent it back to the company. They told me it would take 7 days, it's going on the 12th day. This is sad!

I mean, back in the day, you went to a bank to get interest on your accounts and have them help you make money. Chase isn't interested in helping "the little guy" like Marquette is. I stopped in at Marquette and was greeted very warmly. They took the time to understand my situation (I needed several business accounts), waived a few fees for checks, stampers, etc., and did a great job of keeping everything straight. I've since moved a few of my personal accounts there and I couldn't be happier with their service! As for the other reviewer who commented about holding checks, it's a standard bank practice, but you're only notified when your accounts are depleted. Let me put it this way... If you have $100 in your account and you deposit a $1000 check, they hold it until it clears so they don't lose money if you withdraw $1000 and the check bounces. Similarly, if you have $5000 in your account and you deposit a $1000 check, they deposit it, but don't make the funds available until it clears. Unless you try to withdraw more than $5000, they're not going to even bother telling you the check is being held because most people don't spend money that fast when they've got a nice balance cushion. It's not a personal affront, it's just the way the bank keeps from losing money on bounced checks. You're going to find that this is the case everywhere. Anyway, if you're looking for a new bank, check out Marquette! In the 20 years I've been banking, I've never been happier than I am with Marquette. Their services, range of services, and general customer service are top notch!

After a brief hold the fraud department clerk came back and told us she did not have that information and we would have to call customer service I called customer 800-600-9998 service and explained to the agent the situation and asked again when was the last time they had a data breach. She asked if she could put me on hold to find out and she forgot to put me on hold. I literally heard her say, "We can't tell them that can we?" She went on to say, "He called the fraud department and they wouldn't tell him so now he's calling us." It must have been at this time she realized she left her mic open because that was the last thing I could hear until she returned to tell me she doesn't have that information. I asked who does? Can you tell me who I need to call? And customer service for Fifth Third Bank said "NO, I can't tell you that either." What is going on when a bank cannot tell its customers if they had a data breach and when? I thought that was the law they had to tell you when the data breach happened. This is scary stuff when even your bank is working against you to protect your identity and accounts.
