Nice University grounds…read more We were able to walk the outdoor grounds unencumbered. The academic and functional buildings were secured approximately. I thought the grounds were neat and kept up for the incoming class. Very quiet looking university, but I felt the environment was ready to receive the next generation of scholars. Go Lobos! Wow! Quelab is 10,000 sq feet of tools and space to make things with. They have a large wood shop…read morewith all the tools you could imagine. There is also a complete metal shop, welding area, 3d printing area, laser cutting with both an 80 and 135 watt cutter and 2 large format printers and a vinyl cutter. They also have an electronics lab, fabric arts room, stain glass and 4 station screen printer. With a large membership there are always people who are willing to help you learn and make. They are an all volunteer 501c(3) organization that has remained open to its members 24/7 despite the pandemic. Even through the pandemic they have continued to welcome new members and bring them in to a friendly, welcoming community. They are open to tours by appointment through info@quelab.net.

Well, as I am about to get my Masters in Accounting from Anderson, I guess I am qualified to review…read morethe place. The best thing about Anderson is that you don't have to guess if you will get in. At least, not yet. They have not yet switched over to competitive admissions - as long as you meet the criteria, you are in. I had to take two pre-reqs, but considering I was a Psych major, that's hardly surprising. The faculty are generally really good. There are a few here and there who don't seem to care, but you can avoid them in most cases. They just lost one of their best to retirement (McKnight) which is unfortunate - he was a very tough but very fair and extremely effective teacher. I went into this degree thinking it was a nice backup for my law degree, which I am now working on.They have a dual degree program, which is nice, but it's rarely used so no one really knows how to make it work. The rules are stricter on the law side, so if you go that route, make sure you know everything about it before moving forward. The advisors were crucial to me in the beginning, but I haven't needed much from them once I got going. However, they are there and fairly easy to communicate with. As a nontraditional student, it's difficult for me to get to them in person during the day since I work. However, they are really good about getting back to you via email. I did have to find a way to get to them in person a time or two at the beginning, but that was it. In general, I feel I have learned quite a bit at Anderson, and should I choose to go into Accounting I will be well prepared. It's all public accounting, which was not what I had expected, but a good foundation for the profession. I give it a thumbs up!

I took French when I was in college a few years back, so when I decided to sign up for French classes here, they told me about the "False Beginners" course. This is an intensive 1 week program to refresh all your basics of French, so it's perfect for those who have taken French before and don't want to start from Beginners I. They offer opportunities to practice your French outside the classroom as well, they meet up in coffee shops roughly once a month to practice your French language skills. I have taken two courses in this institution, and in general the professors are great, ones more dynamic and creative than others. The one thing I don't love about their teaching system is that the textbook they use for the courses is a 2001 edition, almost 20 years old! I know the basics of the language is the same, but the examples, vocabulary and illustrations could use an update!

I'm on my second French course at the Alliance and so far the experience has been great. It is a…read morerelatively small school, which gives a very familiar and friendly feeling when coming to learn here. They offer all levels of French, from beginner to advanced at very convenient times and often more than one class a week. The classes are small groups. So far for me they have not been larger than six people, but they can have up to ten students per class. My two French teachers have had very different teaching styles, but both have been very fun, motivating and successful. Every time French class is over, I feel that I don't want to stop. I'm sure you'll love it too!

I've been coming to this library for YEARS. I used to come to study...lots of quiet enclosed spaces…read moreto work in complete silence, which is important when trying to cram for every final exam ever. I've also made use of the multi-person rooms with boards to write on during serious study group sessions (i.e., nerd time). Nowadays, I spend most of my time down in the basement in the bird book section...which is quite comprehensive. Field guide books galore for all taxa and regions of the world! This library is definitely not as quiet as it used to be since they added several computer labs on the main level. They also have a coffee kiosk that sells a small selection of beverages and snacks...it's not the healthiest selection, but hey, if you've trapped yourself in the library to get some real work done, this place will save you in the event of a hunger emergency. I recommend taking your own snacks if you're gonna be here for a while. Happy Studying!

It's a…read moregreat asset to the students of UNM and anybody else who wants to find everything from general science books to the most excruciatingly detailed journal article on just about everything science and engineering. There is a map center, a math center, a Starbucks annex - coffee only I think, I didn't see any way for them to make lattes or tea, but I could be wrong, and several rooms available for meetings. The coolest thing about this library is that it's completely underground. Two stories down, you'll be amazed at how much space is down there. The CSEL is handicap accessible via elevators.
