Just to think the earth once had 350,000 plus of these majestic creatures roaming the Earth's waters. Hunted to the brink of extinction, they're finally making a rebound in coming up on the 16,000 mark. What's more important is the cycle and huge role they play in the health of our oceans which in turn leads into our ability to ultimately exist. Without the planet's oceans, there is ultimately no oxygen. So it's definitely in our interest to keep these majestic animals alive and well and thriving. If you ever in this area, I'd highly recommend catching one of their IMAX documentaries.

Perfect "Oooo Ahhhh" Spot for Kids - Science Magic for School Trips & Family Days!…read more Put on my kid hat for this one -- if you're taking little ones (or even bigger kids) on a school trip or family outing, the California Science Center in LA is an absolute winner. It's full of hands-on exhibits that spark that big "oooo ahhhh" reaction and sneak in real learning without feeling like school. From ecosystems and living kelp forests to interactive science zones, space stuff, and whatever special exhibit is on (right now it's Mummies of the World -- super cool for curious minds), there are tons of intellectual learning points wrapped in pure fun. Kids light up pushing buttons, experimenting, and discovering how things work. It's designed perfectly for young learners and school groups. As an adult walking in, it might not be your first-choice cup of tea if you're looking for something more sophisticated -- a lot of it is geared toward children and families. But if you're there for the kids, you'll still enjoy watching their excitement and maybe even learn a thing or two yourself. Highly recommend for families with little ones or any school trip. The wonder and "aha!" moments make it worth the visit.

We went to this casual and local spot in Laguna Hills that serves the community! Walking in, you're greeted with a bright place that is filled with people from all walks of life, just eating lunch and taking a breather from work. That's how you KNOW you've got a gem on your hands. We went on a not-so-busy weekday, but there was still a decent crowd! I got a classic, the humble BLT. The great J. Kenji Lopez-Alt is credited with the sentiment that a BLT is a tomato sandwich first, and I agree with him. The tomatoes are the star of the show, with bacon and lettuce taking a backseat both flavor and function-wise. With the pepper jack on a whole wheat baguette, I can't complain here. It's a simple, tasty sandwich that I have trouble faulting. You get what you get, and it's a great way to have a feel-good sandwich without the heavy after effects of some others. And I...I got the italian. It's your gabagool-filled sandwich that you've gotta love! That's right, there's Gabagool, Moe-tah-dehll, salaam, pepperoni, and provolone! Top that with olives, banana peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, and you're in business. It's got a wonderful deli-meat texture, and the familiarity of the sandwich is just plain comforting. One bite into this thing, and it was like being transported into the past. Things were easier back then. These are the cold sandwiches, but their hot ones are also crazy! We're told they're even better! Come by and try it out for yourself. If you want the stuff that knows your belly, why not come try out Moe's Deli!?

However, if you plan on going to the IMAX and going on a documentary binge, (which we were), you really can't beat it. We came here looking for the closest parking lot to see the Mummies, Blue Whales, and Antarctica. All have running times of approximately 45 minutes, so if you plan right you can eeasily do all three and certainly two of the three. Well not the cheapest parking around, this parking lot is centrally located and gets the job done.
