Overall, not the Texas kolache experience I'm used to (from East Texas anyway). The kolaches were stored in a heater behind the counter, so I couldn't see them before I bought. I wish I *had* gotten to see them first, because they ended up being huge. Like, larger-than-normal-Texas-sized huge. Unfortunately, though they were large, they were mostly just bread. Comparing them to Texas kolaches, the dough was overly sweet, like dense King's Hawaiian rolls. The fillings were alright but relatively sparse compared to the amount of bread on the outside. The egg and pepper one was my favorite, but the mushroom spinach one was open-faced and had a high bread to filling ratio, so it was relatively dry. Each kolache was about $4, so my total added up fast. Breakfast was actually pretty expensive for just a couple pastries! The coffee was really pretty terrible, managing to be both watery and gritty. Coaches was a good place to try once, but I probably won't go out of my way to come back. read more

Stopped in to get some breakfast for our staff. The service is prompt and the selection is great. I wanted to try each one but I'll have to come back another day for that! I had the jalapeño and sausage Kolaches because I love food with some heat. It really hit the spot. Also the bread is very soft which is why I enjoy these Kolaches. I can be picky about bread to meat ratio and thankfully they got this right. Our staff really enjoyed their Kolaches with the gravy. We had a great Friday morning breakfast! read more

Coaches Kolaches we good. I had the ham and cheese and it was yummy. The bread has a little sweetness to it and the ham and cheese in the middle is plentiful. I also got the breakfast sausage with gravy and the bacon, egg and cheese and the other two people really liked theirs too. All in all it was a hit! It unfortunately is out of my way most days so it will be a special occasion place for me! It is worth a try plus it is a family owner business. I like to support local! read more

First impression, "this is the biggest kolache I have ever seen." I took a bite and it was PERFECT. Exactly how I remember the kolaches back in Austin. So excited to have this family-owned place in my neighborhood! Stopped by this morning for a fresh jalapeño sausage and cheese kolach. It was delicious - a perfect sized breakfast sandwich for only $3.50! The bread is sweet and delicious. They offer several other savory varieties which is different from the traditional sweet kolaches I've tried elsewhere. But there is nothing like this in the metro. They also do larger orders for parties or offices, just call the day before to order. read more

I got this first the first time on Saturday morning. I got a ham and cheese one and one that had eggs and sausage in it. The bread is sweet, which threw my spouse who is from Cali off. My ham and cheese was cold. I didn't finish it in fear it would make me sick. They put a rolled up slice of ham in the middle. So you get bites that have a piece of ham and the sides that don't have any ham. I didn't try the eggs and sausage one but I'm told it was flavorless. I really wanted to like this place. The Kolaches were passable but not extraordinary. The restaurant does t have done in seating at all. It is small but clean, uncluttered and very nice. There is a window you can see into the kitchen and from what I saw it looked clean and well taken care of. The bread making up the kolaches was great. It was cooked through, not doughy, and was a nice golden brown on the outside. I got the beef and cheese, bacon egg and cheese, and the sausage egg and cheese. The beef and cheese was probably my favorite. It was just a cooked beef hotdog and most of the cheese had disappeared with the cooking process. Nothing special. The bacon, egg and cheese was ok also. The egg was cooked well. It was a little cheesier then the beef one. But it was slightly bland. The sausage, egg and cheese one came with a little container of gravy. The gravy had a weird taste like the flour wasn't cooked down enough. I wasn't a fan. The kolache itself was similar to the bacon one and kind of bland. If someone wants a quick and hearty breakfast it was good. But it wasn't mind blowing. read more

Definitely worth the visit, I've never had a Kolaches before and this experience did not disappoint! Food is cheap and delicious and the atmosphere in here is good :) the owner is really friendly and spoke with everyone who walked through the door :) Tried the top two best sellers according to the owner: The Jalapeño Sausage & Cheese and the Breakfast Sausage, Egg, and Cheese. The bun was soft and fluffy and the fillings were savory! These Texas Kolaches came with good gravy too. Also tried the Cream cheese & cherry sweet which was delicious! They're celebrating their one year anniversary today (10/7/18) so all Kolaches are $1 off! Will definitely be coming back! :) read more

I was thrilled there were kolaches around here, even though I live 2 hours away. They are authentically Texan. My only gripe is their rando hours. This place is great! I stopped by to pick up some for the office. I have never had kolaches in my life so I got two of each of the six different kinds. they told me to microwave each roll for about 30-45seconds when I got to the office. The kolaches I had were fantastic. They are kind of like hallowed out dinner rolls that surround mouth watering goodness. It gives the inside nice bread hugs. I highly recommend these and I also recommend getting more than just one. Your taste buds will thank you for it. read more

I have had only a few experiences with kolaches. My interest spiked with the Czech stop in West, TX. When I heard of this place I knew I needed to try it. Personally, I'm a big fan of the traditional fruit style and I didn't get that here. Maybe I can try push for that next time. The ham and cheese pack I picked up were really good. Stopped by here this afternoon on a day trip to Des Moines. Loved pretty much everything about this place. From the family owned story, to the "something new" for the city, to the fabulous product. My husband and I each grabbed a Kolache (I couldn't pass up the jalapeno sausage, and he opted for the beef sausage). We were rung up by a handsome young employee, who set aside his sippy cup to help mom with the customers. Great for a quick snack, or to grab for a main dish at home later. I've been to Texas/Houston a couple of times and never tried kolaches. I honestly thought they were just pigs in a blanket. Then I tried Coaches Kolaches and realized I was very mistaken. We tried a variety of several types and really enjoyed them. Customer service was also top notch. The next time we went to Houston we got finally got kolaches to compare, and IMO Coaches Kolaches are MUCH better than what we had in Texas. Coaches rolls aren't as sweet, which I prefer, and are filled better. Also, this will sound like a small deal, but Coaches brands their kolaches with the type you're getting. We ordered a dozen in Texas and had no clue which type we were grabbing. And, again, service at Coaches is excellent and friendly! read more

As an Iowan, I had no clue what a Kolache was. It's basically a home made, absolutely delicious hot pocket that doesn't make you shart your pants. Fantastic food and service. Hate that I just had a bad experience at their new location. The kolaches are delicious. Nothing to complain about there. I tried the coffee that they have added in. Do yourself a favor and drive around the corner to scooters. They use the cheapest to go cups they could find and literally the second sip the lid flew off and I was soaked. My shirt my pants in my crotch area and all over my leather seats. I went back in to let them know and no one was upfront. So I just set it on the counter and left. I had planned on shopping and now I literally can't go anywhere. It looks like I peed myself. So not only did I get no drink my whole afternoon is cut short. Also the only sip I got it was not very good. Tasted watered down. Not even sure if I will be back. I only gave 2 stars because the kolaches are good. Should really be a 1 star review. I tried calling to tell them and they didn't answer. Very disappointed and pretty mad with my experience today! read more

Coaches Kolaches continues to kill it with these fresh made dreams. They remind me of Taiwanese bread buns; slightly sweet but not "American overkill, diabetes sugary" delights. Today, I got 2 beef sausage and egg, 2 sausage and egg, 2 bacon and egg, and 2 egg and cheese kolaches. I also got 8 danishes - 4 blueberry and 4 cream cheese. Also got 2 sausage gravy's and 4 housemade heat sauces. All were FABULOUS; had to seatbelt them into place, protecting the goods just in case! read more
