It is important to support small local family owned businesses during these new normal times. The sandwiches here are small but enough for a noon quick pick me upper or if you are eating light and in a rush. Perhaps the most important element here is that the sandwiches are made to order with fresh ingredients. I ordered #5 Chicken Salad and #11 A Meat Assortment of pepperoni, ham and beef. Each was served with pride and heaping mound of pride. One afternoon I will get lucky and be able to sample their meatball sub!

A great place to go for lunch. I recently moved to the Des Moines area and this place is close to my office. The service is great. The owner is very friendly when you come in. I have had a couple different sandwiches. The Reuben was great. The regular size is enough even though I got the king size. The #11 was good also. I prefer the Reuben though. The 11 was an Italian type sub. The potato and macaroni salad aren't anything special. They taste like like they are store bought. I have also tried their Taco-tato. It's a russet potato covered in chili cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and tortilla chips. You can have onions and tomatoes on it as well. The taco salad is the same thing minus the potato.

Came here for lunch on a fri. Small mom and pop type sandwich shop. Seats are less than half filled, but staff is friendly.

Friendly service. Walked in and was greeted immediately. There's a nice selection of sandwiches, potatoes, soups, and a few other assorted options. I opted for a cup of Wisconsin Cheddar. While it was nothing special, it did have some nice accents of bacon. It was served piping hot. A lady who I believe was the owner checked in a couple of times and made sure I had everything I needed. As a bonus, they do have free Wi-Fi.

The broccoli cauliflower baked potato is delicious!

Great sandwiches. My only complaint is that it's freezing inside. It's like having lunch in a meat locker.

Ambience and customer service were just... there. Nothing offensive, nothing memorable. It's giving "get your order and go," which honestly works if the food's this good. If you're in it for the sandwich game, don't let the dry vibe throw you off -- the flavor makes up for the rest.

We were driving through from Colorado back to Minnesota and did everything right: ordered online a full 30 minutes ahead so we could just swing in and pick up. We arrive, my sister (who also ordered ahead online) is already walking out with her food. My brother orders in-person right when we get there, and his sandwich--plus two other walk-in customers' orders--come out before ours even starts being made. We ended up waiting over another 30 minutes. More than an hour total from when we placed the order. What is the point of online ordering if the system doesn't hold your spot in line and just lets in-store orders and later arrivals jump ahead of you? It completely defeats the whole purpose. Still... those sandwiches really were exceptional. Almost worth the headache.

We were just here a few weeks ago and I am so bummed to see they permanently closed!! We came during lunch and took advantage of their weekday lunch combo (Tues-Fri, 11am-2pm), which includes soup and a half grilled cheese. You can choose from the OG, Kick in the Cheese, or Fancy grilled cheese, plus either tomato basil bisque or the soup of the day. Honestly? A dream setup. I ordered the tomato basil bisque with a half OG grilled cheese, and wow... just wow. The soup was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the grilled cheese delivered that classic, beautiful cheese pull moment you hope for (and rarely actually get). The cheese had the perfect amount of sharpness and subtle bitterness, balancing everything out so well without being overwhelming.. I seriously could go for one right now! Every bite was comforting and delicious, and I immediately wished I had ordered a full OG sandwich because it was that good. The combo was mouth‑watering, satisfying, and wildly exceeded expectations for a quick lunch stop.

We ordered Grilled Cheese of the Month Quesabirria and it was fantastic I would say it just needed more Consomé. We also ordered their Cuban sandwich and it was really good! This place is a classic hole in the wall but it was very clean!

They've got wide selections of sandwiches and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. The Manhattan is my go-to (Corned Beef, Ham, Salami, Coleslaw & Swiss with Mustard, Mayo & Pickle on an Onion Bun) but I always sub the onion bun out for a hero bun. Every flavor works well with each other, the coleslaw is sweet and contrasts well with the saltiness of the meats, the crunch from the pickle, and finally the mustard cuts into all of them for a beautiful clash of senses in your mouth. Other sandwich pictured is their Tuesday, it's a daily special sandwich you can get on any day. The special pricing won't apply if you get it on another day obviously. The Tuesday was hearty and the cheese on top of it was seasoned well. The peanut butter brownie, very decadent! I don't even like brownies but I always try to snag this one whenever I'm here! Service here is always prompt and helpful. The ambiance does a great job at pulling on the community aspect you feel at your local corner store in NYC.
