Spent a few hours checking this out because it's much bigger than it looks, there are so many booths! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the owners and I'd hear them greet others as they came in as well. The store is clean and has so many different items. Seems like this store is having an identity crisis! The sign on the building says "Coalfield Station Antiques" but it's apparently changed ownership and is now "Old School Antiques" (which isn't listed on Yelp!). If you try to visit them on the web, CoalfieldStationAntiques.com now looks to be an Asian gambling site. Really??? Anyway, it's nothing like it used to be. Now it's overly-cluttered with far too much craft and bric-a-brak and way fewer antiques. Besides the congenial former owner, quality antiques are what I miss the most. Antique stores should be selling antiques - not yard sale stuff. Prices are certainly no bargain. read more

All I have to say about his unique antique shop is: You'd better have a lot of time on your hands! When I walked in... I just kind of glanced around and soaked it all in! This place is chock full of cool antiques, one of a kind items, repurposed furniture and household things, teacups and glassware (I found some neat Harlequin plates for my Collection), signage, salvage pieces (I also purchased some awesome shutters I'm going to use to hang jewelry on-and this place definitely has a lot of jewelry too!), Silver, garden ware, quilts, vintage games, antique bottles, cool lamps (we got one made from a colander!) and just aisles and aisles of treasures! Most of the prices are affordable and the staff is helpful and knowledgeable! If you have an hour to kill or an afternoon even better, you will enjoy browsing at Coalfield Station!! read more

I visited the store with my service dog and was approached by a sales lady who told me the dog wasn't welcome. I brought her attention to the service dog patches and vest and informed her that service dogs are protected by both state and federal law. She informed me that that didn't matter, the owner set the rules and no dogs allowed. I told her she better check with the owner and inform him it was a service dog. A few minutes later, the owner approached me and asked me what he is supposed to do when a customer, who is terrified of dogs, meets my dog. LOL, really? He then proceeded to tell me that I was rude by forcing my service dog on his customers and I was not welcome to be there. He didn't tell me to leave, but made it clear that I was persona non Grata and he tried to intimidate me into leaving. I informed him of both state and federal law, pointed out the service dog vest and insignia, told him he couldn't refuse service without breaking the law. He was extremely rude and hostile . It was shocking, and the rest of the customers, and a couple of vendors, witnessed his tantrum. After touring the shop, which was filled with reproductions, overpriced garage sale leftovers, and a few antiques, I and my service dog left. I have never been treated so callously by any store over the fact that I have to use a service dog. The owner's behavior was incredible. Let me be clear that my dog is well-trained, has visited innumerable antique shops and other retail stores, is calm and friendly. No issues ever. I invite other service dog handlers to visit the shop and help educate this owner on the rights of the disabled. We must correct behavior like this, or we lost the rights we have fought so hard to obtain. read more

For the most part, this store is filled with overpriced items. BUT there are two booths that I love and frequent regularly. I truly go there just for those two booths. They always have things I like at a great price. read more

This is a great antique store. Chock-full of small stuff to browse. Prices aren't all that bad, either. There are two main rooms, and you could easily spend an hour or more browsing here. Old typewritters, maybe some cufflinks, pens, glassware, ugly art, etc. It was fun to see. read more

Not sure where to start - all over the place on this one. Upon entering, saw a few truly intriguing period antique pieces that caught my eye. One beautiful period piece that looked correct down to hinges and pulls! Guy behind counter offered assistance but I just want to look at this time. After the period antique pieces, I found a table with some quality antique books that were top of the line, not easy to find, and reasonably priced. All is well. It gets better: Moved to a booth that had real deal Staffordshire plates that were great! (i didn't buy but will likely go back to get platter that I have should have bought -it will hold a small turkey or a small ham for special dinners). Very cool and a family pass-me-down if kids don't break it........ Then I saw a great case with quality coins that were priced high, but not terribly far off of true value. Very worthy of inspection for any coin collectors. Then it trailed off..... I think they said 60 dealers - 4 were great! Fast forward to other 56 booths - and I think I saw everything from the Hampton Park Fall Yard sale that sold at yard sale for .50 and they were tagged for sale for $10-$25!!!!! (yes, I saw some of my .50 cent items that I sold - listed here for $12.00 (+) It was like a yard sale or flea market with a few true antiques mixed in. I really don't understand the mix. In summary - some very neat stuff. Other part of the equation is that I either want to go to an antique store/mall - or a flea market / yard sale. In this establishment - it is all one. I love the hunt for a treasure; but this place seemed to be odd mix of everything. Don't shy away based on this review because your treasure could be waiting, so give it a shot. Coalfield Station has a really nice selection, but be careful: with so many "booths" you may find the exact same item at opposite ends of the store at vastly different prices. (I have mainly seen this with glassware) Inventory turnover is a bit sporadic. Some items have been there for a few years, while some booths are "priced to sell." You'll find lots of different items from different eras. Some booths offer repainted/reupholstered items and some specialize in originals. Really good spot to stop by no matter what you're looking for. Note: I have not found that the staff are knowledgeable regarding authenticity/history of items, so don't expect to rely on them for input or opinion. I know this from asking about Depression glass. They used to have a booth with tons of stained glass windows, but not anymore. :( The glass was beautiful so I hope they return. They let you make returns within 3 days of purchase, which I appreciate. Like most antique stores, if you inquire about price or ask for a discount, they are willing to work with you based on the booth. And some booths run great sales around holidays! read more

Inventory now includes a heavy dose of crafts and modern items. Like others report, the prices are quite varied from booth to booth, so make sure you do a lap around the entire mall and that you understand what the value is for what you are buying. But that is just the nature of antique malls. I dislike vendors who have multipe NFS (not for sale) items, and a few do that here. I come here to buy, in addition to look, so keep your not for sale belongings at home. Staff is helpful and friendly without being suffocating. If you are in the market for a circa 2005 Kirkland's picture or a Longaberger basket, check here. Ditto for wine glasses adorned with hand painted flip flops. Maybe you'll find a nice flat of petunias, a pretty '60s era purse or some 1950's barware. So come to enjoy looking, let go of the antiques label and maybe you'll find a treaure. read more

Not as big as some of the other local antique malls, and maybe not quite as upscale. There's some odd and random stuff shown, but I'm sure that it appeals to someone. I don't find the pricing bad, but there are more smalls than I like, and not as much furniture. However, if you're looking for accessory-type items, it's a great resource. The people are friendly and helpful, and it's a pretty laid-back place. I like to go there when I have a little spare time. read more

Exceptional! Stopped-in on April 30, 2014, while passing through town. The mall is now fully-occupied and under new ownership. The owner was friendly, and there are a variety of dealers and content. I found no reproductions and a no clutter on this visit. What a difference a year makes! read more

Hard to figure out why the favorable reviews were given here. Visited yesterday and found most prices to be either high or exorbitant. besides that, I felt like I was in a craft mall. There were so many new (post-1995) items, I got tired of trying to find the REAL antiques. We love this antique store! The owners are super friendly and helpful, and most of the prices seem very reasonable. This is a booth/consignment type store. Our last few visits we have been given great deals when buying multiple items. I saw some people complaining about prices for this store, but like most other antique shops, if you ask for a discount, you just might get it; if you don't ask, you may not. I will certainly continue to shop here. They have an awesome variety of quality jewelry, as well as tons of glassware, furnitire, and other various antiques. This store is absolutely worth stopping by and strolling through. Even if you don't find anything you need, all the displays are beautiful and it's like a museum! read more

This is one of the best antique stores I've ever been in! So much fun. Prices are reasonable and when they have a sale its downright cheap. The dealers are very artsy, and you can tell they take pride in there displays. With the great music you can dance back into a musem of time. This antique mall has something for everyone. The renovation and move is completed. It seems like many good vendors stayed. Prices are set by individual vendors and most are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Over the years, I have found a variety of items for my home. With the variety of vendors and good prices, there are different items in there every time I go. Still worth the trip to Western Chesterfield County, in my opinion. read more
