The community of Bellemont has a spot in the Encyclopedia of Forlorn Places (I'm not making this…read moreup--eofp.net), a list I don't think I would want to be on. But it is appropriate. This community was once proud and booming, anchored by a cotton mill that opened in the 1870s. But the mill closed in 1981, is abandoned, and now stands as a sad reminder of times past as it deteriorates and becomes overgrown with weed trees and kudzu. Nearby are a score of two-story frame mill houses where the workers once lived. They are really neat architecturally, but are also becoming dilapidated as time marches on. But just below Bellemont is a family-owned gas station and convenience store that also has a small grill inside. It is here where you can find a very nice lunch. The owner is not shy and is very proud of his product. He will gladly tell you about his vittles, even offering to buy them back if you don't like them. He didn't have to. I ordered a cheeseburger (Bellemont Burger), a hotdog all the way, and fries. Bellemont Burger: excellent taste, perfectly cooked with a nice little char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. Hot dog: chili was a little different, but not bad, the wiener was tasty, and overall it was a pretty good hot dog. Fries: standard fare crinkle fries with seasoned salt (optional), they were very good. If you are in the Burlington area, I definitely recommend driving a few miles south on N.C. Hwy 49 and stopping in at the Bellemont diner for a meal. There is a lot of other history in this area to check out while you are here.

Went to the outlets and visited my friend. We decided to go get dinner and we were immediately…read moreseated. It is always a great atmosphere I love when they do the dance with a certain song. I can't remember our waiter, but he was great. We started with the fried pickles, they were very salty but in a good way. Something you definitely eat while drinking. I had the NY steak cooked to medium and it was cooked to perfection! With a side of broccoli and baked potatoes. I was a little weary when we went to pack up the rest of the fried pickles and under the parchment paper was a French fry. Made me wonder do they wash and clean them or just throw parchment paper in the basket. All in all it was a good visit. I would definitely be back.

Theres a lot to say here. Terrible experience. The waitress did great as far as being attentive and…read morekeeping everything full and was very polite. However there was an issue with almost every order. My parents were with us and my mom had to send her steak back to be cooked more. I had a 20oz bone in rib eye and it had about every temperature cook possible. Some of it was rare all the way up to a good part of it was well done. My oldest son ordered the mini burgers and couldnt chew and swallow them because of how dry they were so we sent them back and they re cooked them. They were more burnt the second time. They did take it off the cost of our order but then the bills get into a whole different issue. My parents had a coupon for free appetizer which they didnt take off and they had to adjust and then our bills was about $52 and we had a $50 gift card and for some reason only $36.99 was take. Off via the gift card and the waitress didnt give it back to us. We have the gift card receipt that says it had $50 on it so we were out about $13. I dont know if she didnt run the card right or mis charged us or what. We should have looked more thoroughly and didnt notice till we had left. We trusted they deducted the $50. We left a good tip (my parents and I because service was good but now feel like maybe they stole $13 from us). The place was extremely loud which wasn't a great atmosphere for the whole family (our 4 year old and 5month old struggled). We were happy to get out of there but regretted the choice to go. Didnt help I was there for my birthday either.
