There are a lot of BBQ restaurants out there, but The Bone Yard has officially earned the #1 spot on our list! From the moment we walked through the door, the owners, Slim and his wife, Lynn, made us feel like family. Neither me, my family nor Slim are originally from Siler City, but you'd have thought we'd all known each other for 30 years. They were professional, genuinely welcoming, and went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. They brought our food out promptly and Lynn spent time working the room (lol) with her mix of warm, welcoming personality and a sense of humor that had customers smiling and laughing everywhere she went. Slim and I had a chance to chat a bit about his story, and at the same time he made sure everything was exactly the way it should be. Getting to know both of them and hearing about the journey they've been on over the last few years was honestly one of the highlights of our visit. Now let's talk about the food... absolutely phenomenal. The mild chicken wings were exactly what my family has been searching for ever since leaving the Southwest, where bold flavor and great food are simply the expectation. Today, I'm happy to report that The Bone Yard has officially become our East Coast BBQ spot! We sampled a little bit of everything, including the mild wings, a full rack of ribs, and a half pound of pulled pork topped with Slim's own Carolina mustard sauce. Every single item brought something unique to the table. Nothing tasted ordinary or mass produced. The ribs were tender, juicy, and practically fell off the bone. The pulled pork was packed with flavor, and that mustard sauce put it over the top. Every bite showed the care, passion, and pride that goes into the food. You can genuinely taste the difference. As I looked around the restaurant, all I saw were smiling faces enjoying incredible food, and I knew we weren't the only ones who felt this way. In our opinion, this is hands down the best BBQ we've had anywhere in North Carolina. Would we drive 40 minutes just to eat here again? Without hesitation... hell, we might do it again tomorrow. Well a hunt for somewhere quick while in Siler City yielded a true gem! I can't wait to come back on a smoked Saturday! Burgers were delicious with perfect bacon on it and the fries good, but dang the fried okra was outstanding! I'll have that every time! Banana pudding was 100% on point as well. Friendly service too! While I don't usually comment on cleanliness of a place, this place easily earned its 100 health score with everything being spotless. I'm looking for excuses to come back to Siler City! read more

Passer through BEWARE The only reason this place is getting it to is because the food was decent. Not great but decent. We went to this restaurant based on yelp. It is 100% of the restaurant management or owners to maintain information provided on yelp. 1. It's advertised as a barbecue restaurant.. there was no barbecue. It was chicken, wings, and hamburgers, and one brisket sandwich lumped in with the hamburgers. We even tried to look at the menu prior to coming, but their website menu does not work. Nowhere on the website did it say that it depended on the day of the week. I 2. In Yelp it's classified as dog friendly. It is not. 3. You have to go outside to the side of the building to use the bathroom like some 1950s gas station.. that's open and unlocked for anyone or anything. Not safe. Fortunately, they were clean. Looks like the locals like for take out. One of the three sandwich / burger options did not come with a side, which was weird. So I had to order an appetizer for my teenager to make sure he had more than a burger. read more

This time I tried their brisket burger because a friend really recommended it. While it's better than a fast food chain burger, it's not better than another local burger just down the road. It's only more expensive. Also, the only place I'Ve ever paid for tap water. Although you get to put it into a glass jar with a handle. read more

OMG!!! Just happened upon this gem on our way to an event. We live about an hour from here, but I will make the drive here just to eat here again! The staff was so polite, the restaurant so clean and the chicken wings are amazing (get the garlic parm sauce!) the real winner is the Mac and Cheese it is honestly the best I've ever had in my life! We took our food to go and have a beer at the Thirsty Skull next door, but had to pop back in just to tell them how much we enjoyed our everything. This place is absolutely amazing! Excellent service, out of this world smoked meats, and incredible sides! Their brisket and baked beans cannot be missed! Stopped by here for lunch on "Smoked out Saturday." They had ribs, brisket, and smoked turkey. There were six of us so we tried them all. I must say it was excellent. The smoke flavor was wonderful but the meat was still tender and moist. Many barbeque places will be heavy on the smoke flavor but it is overly dry. Not here at The Bone Yard. It was an excellent balance. The sides were equally tasty as we really enjoyed the collard greens, baked beans and green beans. My granddaughter had a cheese burger and I must say even it was excellent. Finally, the staff was super friendly and very attentive. This is definitely added to our list of favorites and we will be back. read more

We come here at least weekly. And particularly on the Saturdays they have the Smoked Out menu. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and friendly service. Devante is always ready to greet me and take my order. The decor is quirky and inviting and we immediately felt comfortable. I love that the menu is quite small and uncomplicated. This is not your "run of the mill" hamburger and wings joint. Everything is cooked fresh and you can taste the difference in comparison to some other restaurants. Chef Slim is amazing! I had the smoked sausage today. I asked what kind of sausage and he says, "I made this up the other day. I added brisket and hatch chilies." People, OMG, they were the best sausages. Little chunks of cheese, the perfect amount of spice. And, my husband ordered the smoked turkey. So tender and moist and the perfect amount of pepper. WE have been RUINED for turkey day.
