The woman who helped me, Kerry, a ceramicist, was helpful and pleasant. The gallery is cozy and features 30 artists. The works were all affordable. My favorite artists represented by the gallery are the painter, Judy Bess; the photographer, Steven W. Martin; and, of course, Ms. MacQuarrie. The Mesilla Valley Fine Arts Gallery is a bit of an oasis amidst a square full of kitschy t-shirt shops.

Just a little tick down from five stars because it's a rather small gallery. That is not to say there is a lack of artwork. The gallery is packed with a wide variety of works comprising two and three-dimensional mediums. Those who work at the gallery are very knowledgeable, offering information about the works and the artists. The place is tucked away in the industrial area of town - so it's not something you would come across unless you searched for it - but it's worth the visit! That's coming from an artist who lives in Austin, TX. I'm not sure what the locals consider reasonable; but in my opinion, many of the pieces for sale are under priced. Helped fill some shelves that have been empty for years, and I'm so happy I found the perfect items for that spot. Also love the functional pieces like planters and sconces/hanging lights. They have everything from art & apparel to vintage motorcycles and jewelry and despite it all being quite eclectic it all comes together to make a wonderful artistic experience. I actually heard about it because a local ceramics artist was selling her tequila cups there and I had to have one. But what I found was a place that I could spend hours in just admiring everything. And it really feels like they are bringing a unique artist community together under one roof. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and although they only have weekend hours they all can set you up with appointments. This is not a place you are likely to just stumble upon but it's definitely worth go out of your way to visit it.
