Coast Appliances claims to have a customer service department, but no, no they don't. I bought a Bosch dishwasher from them over a month ago. The machine was missing an important part. My installer had to go to a hardware store to buy the part adding another hour to my installation bill. Coast Appliances has lots of rules that favours their company but nothing that helps the customer. I have called countless times, left messages each time, finally wrote an e-mail as their robot message machine suggested. Manager called me, left a message while I was unavailable. That was 2 weeks ago. More calls, more messages. It is not an expensive part but the extra hour added to my bill is. I should not have to pay the installer for that extra hour. Where is your rule that keeps your customers satisfied? Be aware that they have No Follow Up once the machine leaves their store. read more

I didn't get any further than the building. After waiting for a decent amount of time I did not get waited on. I left. Service should start when you walk in the door..... first start looking. It seems as though service depends on how much money you are going to spend. read more

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Colony Appliances. I purchased a Maytag washer dryer combo from Colony Appliances after hearing about their reputation. Staff were polite and the washer and dryer were shipped quickly enough. Regrettably, the dryer I received was defective and doesn't dry clothes. Colony Appliances did nothing to rectify the situation and did not stand behind their product. They offered to charge us a 30% restocking fee to take the defective machine back and offered no other solutions. I would not recomend Colony Appliances to my friends because while their staff is polite they lack policies to protect their customers. read more

First visit in search of 9 appliances, didn't bother to ask me anything, then, dismissive & rude. 2nd visit, bought a dishwasher, they forgot a part, no apologies. 3rd visit, totally condescending, but promised a quote with choices & photos. I echo the other reviews. Exremely poor customer service. We bought a very expensive stove from them because they were the only distributor in BC for this appliance. The stove has problems since day one when it arrived without a part. (Seems it is a very expensive lemon from reading current reviews.) Colony's only assistance in getting things fixed was to provide the phone number of the manufacturer somewhere down in the States. And THEY have a well-deserved reputation for poor customer service so the problems were just compounded. That issue took several days to get solved. And now, as of this writing , our oven hasn't worked for over a month and we are complelety frustrated . Colony gave us the usual brush-off , told me to call the manufacturer etc... I have had to search out a repair company , give them the part number that the manufacturer provided without knowing actually if that is the problem, pay in advance for said part and then make repeated phone calls that were not returned to the repair company to find out if the part was in. Extremely frustrating. We are going to sell this expensive piece of #$@ and buy a more reliable one - from a different company. read more

Hidden fees, incorrectly represented delivery fees to begin with. Beware! They will tell you a price and then charge more without apologies. They will also add misc. fees to your invoice on top of everything else without informing you first. Moreover, they promised us a delivery between 2-4pm, but didn't show up until 5 and that was only after I phoned more than a little upset. Again no apologies and no follow-up. Horrifying customer service- avoid if you have a choice in where you take your business. Follow-up: After receiving my fridge, we discovered the fridge to be defective. While none of the above listed issues were addressed and while it was still horrendously difficult to get someone to answer the phone or return any calls, they were very good about picking up the dead fridge and helping me locate another one which they got to me as quickly as possible. gotta give credit where it is due - they were much better the second go around. read more

This summer, my husband and I purchased a Blomberg dishwasher from Colony. We had it installed professionally however a few weeks ago the control panel stopped working. We called Colony's customer service department and they helped connect us with a local serviceman who called to set up an appointment with us for later that week. We have had to wait for parts to come in for Germany, however both Colony and the technician have kept us updated on the status of the delivery. Although it was not ideal at all to have no working dishwasher for 3 weeks (I have a new appreciation for my trusty dishwasher), I don't blame Colony for any of this as the responsibility lies with the manufacturer. I will purchase appliances again from Colony (looks like our fridge will likely go soon). read more

I have been a customer of Colony for couple of years now and I recommend this place without a question. My refrigerator broke over night and the first place I went to was The Colony. I have an old kitchen that needed a special size refrigerator and they provided me with all the information I needed to choose my fridge. Since the fridge had to ordered, I had to wait over a week and they loaned me a fridge to use until the new one arrived. I called few other places but the none of the other appliance store was able to give me a better price than Colony. They have a tons of selection to choose from and the staff are very experienced. I was very happy with the service they provided me and I recommend this place to my friends all the time. The staff were very helpful and kind and the delivery service was excellent. read more

We received excellent customer service from Colony. We dealt with Matthew for over a year because we were building a house. He is knowledgeable and detail oriented; he literally was more clear on my order than I was. He responds to emails very quickly (sometimes within a few minutes). Matthew was so helpful with our appliances, and dealing with him was the least stressful part of building a house. Best Deals, Best Service, Best Selection I have been dealing with Colony for several years. I noticed several other less than positive reviews from other Yelp Users and cannot disagree with them enough. Colony is by far the most superior when attempting to resolve issues. Their staff are very knowledgeably and friendly. They also offer the best selection compared to any other appliance retailer, even brands that are not the most known such as Cavavin, Perlick, Capital, and many others. read more

We recently purchased a dishwasher from Colony. We did have an issue with the installation which developed because of a change to the product. We have used Colony now for over 10+ years without any concerns. What sets them apart is their commitment to keeping their customers happy - this month we had an issue with the fridge we had purchased one year ago. After several repair attempts, Colony stepped in and negotiated a manufacturer's refund, free removal and delivery of a replacement product - all within several days. Andre was superb in his customer service. I had to replace a clothes washer and had an extremely small space to work with. GE seemed to be the only manufacturer that had a suitable product. Another appliance company told me that there was no washer that would fit the measurements I specified. Likely this was due to them not handling the product. Colony ordered the GE model I requested from the Calgary warehouse, followed up with a phone call when it arrived and sent out a professional installer. All in all a very positive experience. Would definitely work with Colony in the future and recommend them. read more
