I've been going there for years. Today I had my 6 month cleaning. I received emails and texts wanting me to verify my appointment, which I did and remind me. I show up and they can't find me in their system. Then they tell me because the person who previously did my cleaning is no longer working for them "Corporate" just cancels my appointment and doesn't tell me and do I want to reschedule!!!! When arriving at Coast Dental for my appt. The receptionist says let's get your Ins verified and hopefully you won't have to reschedule. The receptionist states, you're all clear, you can go to the back now. After x-rays and dr visit, I went to the front desk to schedule my cleaning. They handed me a bill and stated that your Ins Liberty only pays a partial amount. I paid the bill and called Liberty Ins. They stated they have no record of anyone notifying or calling Liberty Ins. Liberty Ins then stated I am cover over $2, in dental for first visit, x-rays and exams with 2 free cleaning a year. Liberty Ins states Coast Dental does not take Alignment health nor Liberty insurance. I understand what this facility did or may have done. So the company will not lose you as their patient. They will say they accept your insurance and give you a discount and say your Insurance only pays partial. That would be because Coast Dental does not take this insurance. So how many people have had to pay for this. The ftc of Florida has a report open. Case evaluation. Please report if Coast Dental has charged you. read more

Worst dentistry I have ever been to. After getting x-rays was told that they were unable to do my teeth cleaning because they were overbooked. If the 10 o'clock appointment didn't show then they could clean my teeth. During the x-ray process they were coming at me about how much it would cost that day. This was a routine appointment for a cleaning. Then was informed there wasn't a dentist on site. And after all this the front desk staff still tried to bill me for 128.00. I guess they have never had to deal with insurance before. Was supposed to go to the Fleming Island office for my comp exam so I could actually see a dentist. Did not and will not go. From my experience I sure that would be another ordeal I had to deal with. And for the grand finale one of the receptionist proceeded to get in a yelling match right outside the front door with some girl she had a beef with. read more

They canceled my appointment after I took time off of work to come in. I come in for a cleaning they try to charge me over a hundred dollars just for cleanings with insurance. I was told by my previous dentist I have a cavity I moved before getting it taken care of came here told them about sensitivity and pain in that area said I've been told I have cavity there, they tell me I don't and they don't know what is going on. The staff was alright but me and my husband experience a as overall horrible. They're office and equipment VERY outdated . They try to up sale you on toothbrushes and mouth wash .The dentist seems to NEVER be onsite . You communicate via webcam .The front staff will ignore you while they watch tv on their phone or have conversations amongst each other .Took forever to even be seen not to mention O have some concerns in regards to the cleanliness of the equipment that actually go in your mouth .The x ray equipment and suction device they use have obvious bite marks on them . Coast Dental, Dr. Wendy and the hard working front office staff are fantastic! I am I the process of new dentures that will be will be including extractions and a root canal (professionally refered out to Endodontist). They've worked hard in making a plan that fits into my benefits and has worked tirelessly to get my insurance company approvals. Other than a communication issue at the beginning because of a out sourced centralized appointment system (hint: press option 5 to talk directly to office) the experience with Coast Dental has been fantastic! read more

Today was supposedly my routine cleaning, yet the hygienist not even clean my teeth and instead started measuring my gums, checking how deep my gum line is?? To be honest based on my life time of experience, all the hygienists will start clean my teeth first, never ever someone will measure my gum at the first place!!! I always have has very healthy gums, but this hygienist ends up said I have to do the gingivitis cleaning and it cost me a hell lot!! After today, I totally have to switch to another Dentist. By the way, all their staff are totally new, not very friendly except the front desk receptionist. The New female Dentist was good. I will not recommend anyone to this dentist office anymore :(( read more

I have been going to Coast Dental for at least ten years. I've never had a long wait time and everyone has always been super nice. The one star reviews are *baffling* to me. While it is TRUE it's a bit harder to get someone on the phone at the office, that's not untypical of medical offices. I have had cleanings over the years, cavities filled, a crown, and other gum related procedures. I personally have a long standing phobia of getting my teeth done and while I'm not *THAT* at ease there, I don't have any horror stories to tell. I'll continue to go to Coast Dental for as long as I'm in the area and continue to be as *happy* as one can be when going to the dentist ;p read more

Customer service is horrible. Phone goes unanswered. Always under staffed. No hygienist for over a month. They never called me to cancel or reschedule my cleaning until the day before. A month of rescheduling time had gone by. Now they say it will be September before they can clean my teeth. Mandatory initial Dr visit doesn't include a cancer check. They charge extra for them to shine a cancer revealing light in your mouth. I turned down the light. I asked if they still check manually even though the said, "yes of course", the Doctor did not check my mouth for cancer by grabbing my tounge with a gauze pad and feeling around like every other doctor has always done. If you need a dentist or a cleaning, I highly recomend you keep looking. This place is limping along on borrowed help from other locations. They need to fix staffing before they try to operate as an office. read more

My husband went the first time for his cleaning and it was fine. The 2nd time the hygienist was trying to sell him a deep cleaning. The hygienist should be cleaning your teeth if he/she sees an issue then the dentist should be brought in and you get the info to them. He told her no and she was like a used car salesman trying to push him. He refused and left mad never seeing a dentist. That is not customer service. Dr. Barron Banks is a law-breaker!! He REFUSED to follow the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA.) My friend, an independent Deaf adult, requested a sign language interpreter both when she made the appointment and when she confirmed her appointment. She was assured both times that an interpreter would be provided as per ADA law. When she arrived for her appointment, not only was an interpreter not provided but they even refused to allow her to facetime with an interpreter!!!! Dr. Banks personally stated that "they did not do that ADA stuff!" SHAME ON YOU!!! read more

I would give these people no stars if I could. I had to reschedule my cleaning FOUR times because the office girl Danielle has the intelligence of a gnat and kept losing my appointment. Then they charged me right at $1000 FOR A CLEANING. I told them no the quote was too high and was assured by 3 different people that insurance would cover it. Turns out, they blatantly and just gave me a "best guess" rather than actually verifying what would be covered with my insurance. I contacted the office and their staff is the epitome of incompetent. Rather than working with me the bitch just kept saying "you can pay or we will send you to collections and damage your credit." I am considering contacting my lawyer about this practice that openly lies to customers and will absolutely contact the BBB. Update**** I spoke with corporate and it turns out this office was super scamming people. Not sure if the office girl was overcharging and pocketing money or what but when I stopped in to get my records they had a new office girl. I've gone to this dentist 3 times now and each time I have waited over an hour. This 3rd time will be my last. (Currently waiting an hr and 15 mins.) I thought it was maybe because they over-booked their day, but since it's happened 3 times it's definitely not a fluke. Customer service is very poor. They obviously don't care about making us wait. I watched one guest go back and the dental hygenists said "how are you?" The customer responded, "Tired of waiting," (she waited 45 mins) and the dental hygenist laughed. Service is great, but there needs to be a significant improvement in their billing practices and response to your questions regarding your bill. For those of you who have insurance and more than one family member utilizing this office for care, MONITOR YOUR EOB (ESTIMATE OF BENFITS). I went to this office April 2017, had a crown done, unfortunately, my husband had the same procedure done the next day. First of all, they bill my insurance company for part of my service and part of my husband service, leaving a balance on my account, brought it to their attention after receiving a bill. It took them several attempts until they bill the insurance company properly. I had paid them upfront in GOOD FAITH for what should have been my portion of the bill. Based on my EOB and this office being a preferred provider of my insurance, I had overpaid them. Spoke with office manager who attempted to correct my bill, it then went up to her supervisor in the cooperate office. After multiple calls to office manager and cooperate office, (concerns are only address when it is initiated by you). I rec'd a "corrected bill". Remember, they are a preferred provider and are obligated to abide to the contracted amount. The corrected bill still had a balance on my husband which after doing the math, they did not adjust the bill to reflect the amount they are suppose to bill me vs. the difference between what the insurance pay and what was initially bill eg..Insurance was billed $875, contracted amount is $692, insurance paid $308.50 and I am responsible for $383.50, I paid $491.50 upfront. But, what they did was $929-$491.50-$308.50=$129 BALANCE, NOT $692-$308.5-$491.5=-$108 CREDIT. Office manager have made the adjustment based on insurance company over 5 weeks ago and I am still in limbo as to where my accounts are. Multiple calls to cooperate office and unable to speak with a live person, leave message and still no answer. I've been calling each day for the last few days, 6 to 10 times (leave only one message per day) but still no response. P.S my personal account have a credit balance, but that is because they added funds that the insurance company paid on my husband account to mine. Front desk secretary - did not wear her name tag and did not introduce herself. I am not sure if its because she is pregnant, but she was rude, and defensive when asked to explain the insurance billing. This one secretary really brings down the dental office. Hope they send her to take a course in customer service. Mike - Dental assistant - was nice, friendly and if he wasn't there, I probably would not have made an appointment. Dr. Ramsey - friendly, takes the time to teach and thanked me twice for my business. Thomas (Dental hygienist) - friendly, funny, informative, caring, took the time to make sure I had enough anesthetic, and replaced it when it started wearing off. He was the best! read more

I scheduled an appointment since January for an appointment in July 1st, and when it was near the time they suddenly rescheduled my appointment for July 14th. When I went to go for the appointment they claimed that my daughter's name was not in the "system". They said that I would have to wait 6 more months until next year to get an appointment. Absolutely awful . I advise you to get any other dental service if possible. I made an appointment and went at the time & date of the appointment and had to wait in the lobby for ten minutes. I had filled out the check in with my name and time of appointment upon arriving and simply sat there for ten minutes with nobody there at all. Finally, someone comes up to the desk and asks "Are you waiting for someone?" I tell her no, that I'm here for my appointment, and she asks to see my insurance and asks for my name. She then went and tried to verify the insurance and she called the wrong insurance company. Upon hearing this, I went and called the back of my insurance card from Delta Dental and I verified with them that all my information was correct and that I was, in fact, covered by my insurance. This entire process of me calling them took five minutes. I handed the phone over to the lady at the desk and my insurance confirmed over the phone that I was covered and proceeded to fax over all the information that was required to verify that I was insured. The kicker? They cancelled my appointment due to the process "taking too long" when it was due to the woman's incompetence. They then proceeded to tell me that "there are other patients waiting for their appointment" when I arrived there before any of them. This dental office wasted an entire hour of my time and offered nothing to resolve the problem of my wasted time other than saying that I could wait another 30 minutes for a chance (As in, if someone canceled within the next 30 minutes which was extremely unlikely) to have work done on my mouth. After this entire ordeal occurred, they informed me that they called me the day before and told me that my insurance wasn't active and that it needed to be resolved. (I couldn't call them back, due to them calling me after closing hours.) Avoid this place if you value your time. read more
