I'm not going to lie. I hadn't been to the dentist in over 3-4 years. I hate the dentist. I've had bad experiences in dentists offices before but this place has got to be the best. The staff is super sweet, they're all very funny and they really do care for their patients. I can't remember their names but the really pretty black lady in the front office with her coworker at the time (i don't remember his name either but he had kind of dark hair) did so good at making me feel welcome and comfortable. they completely turned everything around for me. when i was taken back by this other really nice black lady(she was my favorite for sure, she had the jokes) talked me through everything and she helped me through the rough part when i had to get the bone grafts. I am definitely a child when it comes to dentist work and they totally understood that. I didn't feel nervous, i didn't feel scared, and i actually will be going back for more work when i can. This facility, in my opinion, has a problem with tossing in additional, previously not mentioned, money for services. Funny but not funny when you pay the agreed upon service and charge only to find out later that the original signed, paid for agreement, was somehow incorrect! I could not have a better overall experience than what I had. I was brought in due to emergency ( great deal of pain/bump on gum). I used my insurance dentist who said I had no problem and went to American Dental Wellness as I have used them before for other emergency procedures. I had a abscess on a root canal tooth, he took great care of me and EVERYBODY in this office is outstanding! I had a perfect experience, highly recommend. read more

I brought my grandma here to get her dentures replaced. I saw their phone number from the street, called and was able to get an appointment right away. They were very friendly on the phone. I chose this place because they have an on-site laboratory @ their other location and my 93 year old grandmother had lost her upper dentures. Thanksgiving was around the corner and we both wanted her to have teeth to eat whatever she wanted (nuts and apples in particular). I was searching for a dentist who could make that happen instead of waiting 4-6 weeks like she was quoted by her regular doctor. This was just the place! Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted and asked to sign in. The waiting room and office was visibly clean & organized. Our appointment was for 11am, but if it's your first time definitely come early to fill out all of the paperwork. It'll take awhile, but they have plenty of magazines and a TV for your g'ma while you do it for her. :) This place is really great. I had a really bad experience at this facility. My wife had tooth pain and drove from St. Augustine which is an hour away. We got there fill all the paperwork and was seen. The technician took the X-ray and the dentist indicated that they were 3 teeth that need a root canal. I ask them the price and the and they said 6120.00 with the insurance paying around 1200.00. I thought that was a little pricey. I searched on the web and found it for around 1000 a tooth with the crown. I told the technician we were out of there. I told her if we can do this for 4000.00 everything. She said yes. My wife goes to the dentist chair and the technician says we're only doing 2 teeth. I said you said everything. The dentist and technician were very condescending. They even try to pull that attitude with me. I was so piss because of them trying to up charge me. I felt I was at a shady car dealership. Gave 2 star review, only due to American Dental Wellness, is open on Saturdays. However, the area where you are examined is violating every medical privacy violation known. There is not examination rooms, only dividers with examination chairs and computer screens, along with diagnostic equipment, patients and staff, in an area the size of a living room. The dental staff try to force you to use their financing and rates are very high. The medical/dental industry is all about making money, not providing the best medical care for the patient. We as consumers need to research more for the best medical care and leave these "meat markets" alone. read more

BBB rates this place as a D-..... Careful, the peeps that work are are told not to say if a individuals insurance is in network or not. They were going to charge me almost 10k for something that would of cost me 1500 in network. Do your research. And they are not part of BBB but they do have a rating of D-....wanted to put that out there. We need to start being honest people. So I called the number after a Google search, the person set me up a appt to get my teeth fixed. Never one time stated that this dentist was not in network. I proceed to make the appointment. Did the exam and x-rays. Ended up paying 122.00 for the exam. Not once did they say you are not in-network....u could probably get this done cheaper in network. I get home call them back and ask if my insurance is accepted...and they stated no this is out of network. I would not of went to this place if I would of known. Kristine , Amber , Melinda and all the staff were amazing . Melinda held my hand during the numbing process she made me feel at ease with the wisdom tooth extraction I was about to experience. This place is a complete fraud! They made an appointment with me for my 10 year old son and the appointment was at 10 we arrived at 9:10 fifty minutes early and still had to wait 2 hoirs for him to be seen by a lady who simply told us to come back at 6 yi have my sons 1 tooth extracted! When we came back at 6pm again to have 1 tooth extracted they charged me 217 dollars on top of my insurance where i jave a 1500 deductable. Then wrote him a prescription for tylonal 3 but actual 4 the numbers were wrong so thed pharmacy couldnt even fill it This is the worst dentist in town and once i speak with my insurance company about what should have been covered i will probablly sue! Going to the dentist fills Me with anxiety. I went in today and my doctor was the worse L. Barros was in the room for 5 minutes to tell me she was going to extract my tooth, next she said she would send a financial coordinator over to discuss pricing. Didn't ask me if I had questions. Made absolutely no eye contact. Had no compassion for me. I was upset because I wanted to ask a few questions. To which my doctor sent over a PA who was great. She answered what she could and went back to see the doctor off the questions she couldn't answer. This made me very uncomfortable. I had a really bad toothache and I called ASAP Dental and the guy was nice enough to get me in at 9 am. I got to the office and Maddie was working front desk she was kind, courteous and very professional. They took me to the back and Jessica took xrays and then got me in the chair. She has a delightful personality and was very thorough and then Melissa came in and set everything up. She was also very delightful. She was very professional, she took her time to make sure everything was right for the Dr. Lee and Assistant Jessica. She was very informative on everything, gave me alot of knowledge of things I didn't know about dentistry. She was very attentive to my needs. Then Dr. Lee and Jessica came in, and extracted my tooth. I was their problem child today because I had a tooth with 5 roots instead of 3. He took his time. He was very professional and was knowledgeable about his job. Jessica was very attentive to make sure she sucked everything out of my mouth and was right on point with Dr. Lee handing him the tools that he needed and doing her job as well. I have to say it was a very nice dental visit under the circumstances. The whole place was clean and sanitary. All the staff that I had contact with had big bright smiles, very kind, attentive, very knowledgeable about there jobs. They were very helpful and caring to your needs. Stay away!! Appointment was 1:00 didn't call me till 2:00. After another hour and half they just wanted to give me there pricing. The girl at the front couldn't even explain it right!! This place is a meat market, get you in the chair and if you dont want the plan they offer they want you out the door. I had to ask for a prescription for my Infection. Had to contact the American Disabilities Association over the way I was treated at the Orange Park Office, horrible people, made me wait two hours then told me could not do treatment that I confirmed with them before appointment that they could. This was after sending me six texts in one week reminding me if appointment. Who sits at a dentist for four and a half hours which if they did honor the appointment they scheduled for me, is still crazy. Very prejudiced people. Stay away, there are many good caring quality dentists in Orange Park that do not discriminate. I also have low blood sugar and almost passed out in their office due to so long of a wait not eating and being so rudely treated. It was so strange as well as I had appt at 11:30, I had called and confirmed if they could do all three minor treatments at that appt and told them if not it was no problem I would go elsewhere. I was told they would all be done. After two hours they finally saw me and took out a small bone spur left over from when they pulled my tooth a few weeks prior that was making it so I could hardly eat. The hygenist started my cleaning by checking my gums then suddenly they told me they could not do the scheduled cleaning and maybe do the filling for another hour at 3, but I was confused as my appointment at 11:30 was for that. I was shocked upset, I told Ali that I have low blood sugar and could not wait a total of four hours for what was scheduled for 11:30. They had sent me countless text reminders of appointment so there obviously was no problem with the time. I am contacting the Americans for Disabilities Agency as well as The Better Business Bureau as I feel I was discriminated against due to being weak and having PTSD as diagnosed by MD in Florida, and also due to low income as though I have Care Credit to pay for those procedures, I told them I could only afford those and I believe they pushed me out to make room for patients they could sell higher procedures to, nothing else makes sense as in all my 63 years in many states, I have never been treated so horribly, simply shameful. read more

They were able to see me quickly, which I appreciated, and the dentist I met with was kind and professional. Unfortunately, they don't really offer one-stop shopping, as the advertising suggested. They indicated I would have to have separate procedures by different individuals, meaning multiple exposures to anaesthetic. They also indicated that all work aside from surgery was done in the open-air environment; there was zero privacy and I could see and hear other patients. Ick. read more

This place is a joke, her mission statement says the following "I treat my patients with the greatest respect and give them my full attention. I treat them the way I would hope to be treated. I help guide them in making the important decisions regarding their oral health. It's important for me to provide excellent care that makes patients better about themselves and helps keep them healthy overall. She does NOT give you your full attention, the appointment was at 4:00 p.m., they asked if I could get there 10 minutes earlier to fill out paperwork and had no way to preprint it so it was ready when you arrived at my appointment. It took 10 minutes to fill out paperwork, I saw her for two minutes. I spent more time filling out paperwork that I did getting this full attention she claims she provides all patients. In addition, she stated I needed two front teeth pulled, one had a cavity and the other one needed to be pulled so that it could support what she called "flippers." A second opinion solved my problem with a simple filling and no teeth pulled. All I can say is BEWARE, BEWARE! If your intention is to get a full and accurate evaluation and want to keep your teeth, STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE!!!! read more

This place is a joke. You pull a person wisdom all 4 and don't even tell them they will not be sedate. We went over the treatment plan not one time did she say he would not be sedate. I had serveral of friend have their wisdom tooth taking out and everyone had sedate. That is so brutal to stick them in their mouth 15 times. I wish I knew they wouldn't sedate my son. I would have took him somewhere else. Like they say you get what you pay for.. I don't recommend anybody to come here. Terrible service especially when a doctor said he a oral surgeon. I went to American dental because its where my exhusband said he had some teeth extracted and he was satisfied with the care. I should have taken heed that it never took much for my husband to be pleased with his dental care. Maybe i just expect too much or maybe my previous dentist was just too good. Who knows but today my morning started at this dental clinic where i had way more xrays than seemed necessary taken and the most painful cleaning i have ever had. The hygienist was sporadic in how she cleaned my teeth randomly cleani,g in no particular order sometimes going to one tooth on the top left to another tooth to bottom right and back and forth. This cleaning cost me over 300 dollars with insurance and i could tell she didnt thouroughly clean all of my teeth. Also during the cleani,g she kept readjusting her chair not paying attention to the instruments in her hand that she was unknowingly erradically too closely to my eyes. I had to tell her to get them away from my face. To my surprise the hygienist did the x-rays, the poorly completed cleaning and she also injected the novacain to my mouth which i was shocked about because in my 54 years of seeing dentists the doctor would inject the novacain just before the procedure. The injections were gruesomely painful. My previous doctor i never felt any pain but this morning was horrendous. I bit my tongue in fear it would make this worse. My teeth after the cleaning feel very rough and unpolished. Then i was ushered to yet another visibly unclean cubby where i waited more than 30 minutes for the doctor to come do three fillings and a crown. The doctor did the fillings which did look better than they did with cavities however her work was not very good and when i got home to take a closer look i dare say she didnt fill 4 teeth as charged but only 3 teeth on the upper right side. On the left upper side she put a temporary crown which she had the tech try to shape with the sander and fit into place which was terrible and a new mold had to be done. After much complaining the doctor came and shaped the temporary tooth and fitted it into place which is what should have happened anyway but i think the reason the techs and hygienists are taking on some of the doctors duties suchvas injecting the novacain and shaping crowns is so the doctor can take on as many other patients they can. My husband said in the 4 hours i was in the clinic there were at least 16 patients who came and went. That to me is not a good sign. Mind you this was a first time visit and i think the doctor saw dollar signs but seeing the look on my face about the condition of the place may have made her think twice about trying to get me to return so on this first visit she supposedly filled 4 teeth and did one temp crown which in two weeks i fear to have to return to get. They are way over priced considering the shoddy work they did. I am really dissappointed and even question if they all have credentials their respective fields. In the end they charged 3,999.00 out of pocket expense is about 3,000. I really want to get the crown and take it elsewhere to be fitted but i figure no other dentist is going to take on the liability of partially finished dental work. My understanding is that i have already paid for the next visit anyway at least thats how other dentists do it they charge for the permanent crown and placement before they get the permanent crown back. When i saw the price they quoted i should have followed my instincts and left especially after the shotty dental work. I will say they were all very friendly but that doesnt make up for what i went through and the bad dental work they provided. I am reluctant to put this up on this board as i do have to return for my perm crown but i think people should be informed. After i get my perm crown i will not be returning read more

Especially the lab technician Alex who was nice enough to come out and speak with me about the repair he was performing and went the extra mile. To make sure that his repair would last. Had deep cleaning and a crown. Crown prep went well until the Novocain wore off and NO PAIN KILLS were given! I ended up in the ER and they too were surprised and gave me something to kill the pain. Deep cleaning was really good. One dentist prepped the crown before Christmas and a different dentist actually fit the crown after New Year's Day? Wasn't informed of the gap to complete the work until it was half done. Was told to hold off on whitening until after all crowns were done. That advice was contrary to the whitening instructions. After asking questions about the whitening kit. I payed and was given a date to have trays moulded in office, was told to return the next day to pick up trays and whitening kit. Almost nothing about the kit was right according to the answers I was given. The whitening kit products on display is what I was given the impression I was buying for $149.00, what the office manager "Candance" gave me look like 4 whitening syringes, toothpaste samples and WET trays in a ziplock baggy, NO INSTRUCTIONS on how to use the product. She did offer verbal instructions, saying the product does not come with instructions. When another customer Sitting there commented, the office manage opened a proper whitening kit and gave me the instructions from it. Took the sample kit thinking what a poorly trained staff. When i got home told my visiting family [career nurses]. They said it looked more like fraud and it should be returned [Candance struggled with giving me a refund and did sort of a tricky transaction with my credit card] right away, insurance contacted and so on.. After getting my bank and insurance provider involved I was given a full refund. If you use this dental practice make sure to verify your receipts with you insurance provider and credit card statement. My paperwork didn't match what was turned in to my insurance provider.
