The staff: none of the three front desk staff were wearing any name tags. They were not at all…read morepersonable or friendly, aside from by the book training. Overall the human interaction was very minimal and almost felt awkward. The property: the pool and hot tub had an obvious amount of dirt and debris along the corners and edges. Clearly had not been vacuumed in a long time. Took photos but could not post on here as they are not png format. Gym was small, but ok. Windows looking out to the pool, and outside looks onto gravel lot. Breakfast was ok. It is very much something to expect from a cheaper priced hotel, but considering we came from other Marriotts along our Southern Alberta trip, this one stood out in the wrong way. The eggs tasted like quite low grade, with just enough selection to have alternative food items. Expect the wifi to be on the slower side. We used the free one that came with bonvoy membership. There is a premium one that would be needed if you are doing any type of business calls. As a heads up, the tv remote did not work from laying in bed. Needed to be sitting on the edge of bed for it to register. We looked at lots of properties before choosing this one, and should have went with the Wingate instead around the same price with more amenities.

My elderly parents checked into this hotel and did not realize dogs weren't allowed. The clerk said…read morethey couldn't stay there but would not cancel the room as they had "missed the deadline for cancelling." Also did not offer to help them find another room someplace else. No one should get a call from their crying mother about a hotel room mix-up, ever. This place might be a "Marriott" by association, but I have had far better service at every Ramada or Super 8 I've ever stayed in.

Our family plus Grandpa recently stayed overnight here on a holiday weekend…read more Check in was efficient and pleasant. Room was as described in hotels.com app. 2 queen beds and one fold out sofa bed - plenty of bedding and pillows for the 5 of us. Smaller than average hotel tv. The washroom was nice and had bath and body works branded toiletries and a hair dryer. Pool was one of the warmest we were in all vacation and twirly slide was a bonus for the kids. Pool depth was 4-5'. Breakfast was okay - pancake machine, cereals, sausages, and bread products. Neither of my kiddos liked the sausages here. The pancake machine was the biggest hit (though could be improved with fruit and whipped cream options). Parking lot was small and upon returning at night I had to wait for security to let me into the hotel. Unfortunately there was lots of screaming and fighting on the street outside my window. Lethbridge recently opened up a safe drug injection site 2 blocks away and our friends (who live in Lethbridge) shared that there has been a lot of recent issues in the area with damaged vehicles, businesses, and violence. It would appear there are still some hiccups and adjustments to bd worked out. Upon driving for groceries and dinner it was apparent that the safe injection site was pulling a fair bit of foot traffic in the area. Overall the hotel was good and a fair value but I'd be inclined to choose a different hotel next time if our friends continue to hear of ongoing criminal activity and violence in the nearby vicinity.

I spent Monday to last night at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites…read more When I checked in, I'd asked if my room had a tub (I love baths!). It didn't but the receptionist upgraded me to a room with a jacuzzi and a fireplace for free. That was sooooooo nice of her! My room was HUGE! My room had a mini fridge, a microwave (handy since I'd brought popcorn), a Keurig coffee maker, etc. WIFI, breakfast and parking were complimentary. There was a pool and a fitness room next to the lobby, which I didn't get a chance to use. The hotel is downtown so walkable to lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. I had issues with two things, though. The WIFI, though free, was very sketchy and kept cutting out or was non-existent. Since I needed it to work, I found this extremely annoying and ended up using my phone as a hotspot. The water pressure in the shower was pathetic. I tried adjusting the showerhead but when I did that, the water pressure got worse and was reduced to a dribble. I was showering at 4:30am so it's not as if there was a big demand on the water at that time of day. So if you don't need to use the Internet or shower, this would be a good spot to stay. For me, though, these are things that are a must.
