I have had 1 appointment with C2CC. My 1st interaction was calling to make an appointment. A real person answered right away...Cris. He listened to me explain my dog's situation and need for a cardiologist. He was able to get us in the next day. Dr.Pelio & Megan were kind and helpful. The doctor took the time needed to explain what was going on with our pup's heart. Doctor drew & used an anatomical sketch of a heart on the whiteboard to help me follow his explanation of my dog's diagnosis and the medication we were going to use to help him feel better. A nice folder with names of all the different medications that could possibly be prescribed and I was able to keep notes of our appointment. Dr.Pelio provided us with instructions on how to monitor Peyton's heart rate at home to know if medications were working for our pup. With the utmost compassion Dr.Pelio summarized Peyton's diagnosis; how we were going to help Peyton feel better and the ultimate prognosis of his progressive disease. That evening Dr.Pelio called to check on Peyton and clarify medication prescribed. It's been a couple weeks and I can say Peyton feels better and quality of life has greatly improved. When looking for specialist's services I can say I wish for a higher level of service and I can say Dr.Pelio, Megan & Cris met/exceeded this desire especially for a 1st appointment. I took my dog and my cat to the Sturbridge office back in April and received wonderful care by the cardiologist. However, in August, my dog's breathing rate increased, which is a sign of congestive heart failure. I called them on Thursday evening and they told me to go to my regular vet to get x-rays and have them sent to C to C for review. I did that. The x-rays indicated he was in congestive heart failure. Their website says they are available until 11 pm every night, seven days a week. I started calling them on Friday and continued throughout the weekend. I got one call from them on Saturday night and they didn't leave a message. I tried calling them back and didn't hear back from them again until 10:15 am on Monday morning when they told me that someone would look over the x-rays on Tuesday - a full 5 days after my dog first showed signs of heart failure. These people are monsters. When I told them about the office hours on their website, they said "we haven't had those hours for years." It is false advertising. I spent well over $3,000 on those initial exams and diagnosis. I could have gone someplace else, but when I saw that I could reach them anytime, I saw that as a selling point. This place should be sued. They care absolutely nothing about your pets. Avoid this place, and if you are already a customer, find someplace else before it's too late and they kill your dog. read more

Went to get our 9 year old Cavalier King Charles dog, Quincy, evaluated for mitral valve disease. We were happy to drive to Santa Barbara to get what we thought would be the best care at Coast to Coast radiology, which was recommended by our vet. Quincy was taken in at exactly 1:30, spent about 25 min in the back getting "tests" and was given back at 1:55pm. He was supposed to get an XRay first, and while I was in the waiting area I was given an authorization form to approve the cost of doing additional tests including an EKG and an Exhocardiogram. We read the forms and decided that since this was Quincy's first appointment for this disease, we wanted to have all of the tests done as a baseline. We submitted the forms to the staff about 10 min later, at 1:40pm. Dr. Pelio came out to brief us on Quincy's test results at 1:55pm. He said that they did the X-rays, the EKG, and the Doppler Echocardiogram, and that he had reviewed all of the images, after which he examined and listened to Quincy's heart. He had a medication recommendation for us. We noticed that Quincy didn't have any shaved areas on his chest or legs, even with a 7-lead EKG, nor did he have any wet or moist areas on his chest where the echocardiogram instrument would have been placed to get clear images. Quincy has a very thick coat, and it takes a long time to dry. It was completely dry and untouched anywhere on his body. The doctor said he had reviewed the images, which showed him that Quincy had moderate mitral valve disease, grade B+, and that he needed to be put on a heart medication called Pimobenden. In addition, he recommended that we stop feeding him a grain free food with pea protein per veteranian association guidelines, because dogs don't get the right protein from it and it can cause heart disease. He further stated that further supplements of any kind for heart disease had not been proven to be effective and were a "waste of money" for Quincy. When we asked what kind of food he recommended instead of Instinct Raw Boost Grain Free, he mentioned Purina Pro Plan or any food that wasn't grain free. Yikes! We got the visit records to submit to insurance and to give to our regular vet. Read through the notes and realized the photos from the echocardiogram were from a completely different date, so they weren't even of Quincy's heart! Then we read the write up from the "exam". We soon realized that the write up was a long paragraph with sample language In it. It still had template language on it like this: "The echocardiograminterventricular septum was #INPUT# (for someone to put the number in, left blank)... the whole write up was like that with boilerplate language that sounds precise but gives all the possible answers from the doctor to choose from... only in this case, he forgot to choose any. The whole paragraph of 12 lines of medical speak is interspersed with #INPUT# where the doctor was supposed to enter a value from the scan or test. Who knows who's dog was actually echo-cardiogrammed in the grainy photos above it, dated 3 days earlier, but Quincy had certainly never been there at that office before. Then we have the lack of time in the back with the doctor... in the 10 minutes he was back in the testing room with the doctor, there was simply not enough time for them to have done all of those tests. Even one of them, plus a personal exam by the doctor, should have taken longer than that... at least 30-40min for the tests alone. If they did either of the big tests, the EKG or the echocardiogram, why didn't Quincy have any areas on his body shaved or wet from removing sticky stuff or lube? We are forced to believe that this whole visit was a scam. Perhaps Dr. Pelio is a nice guy, and even a good vet. If so, why wouldn't he know that L-Taurine and L-Carnitine are Important for a dog's heart to function properly? He was a nice guy, so we thought maybe he didn't know they didn't really do the tests. Or Maybe he thinks they aren't really important and that he can do all the diagnosis by listening to the heart only. Why then, would he recommend and order testing that costed over $1000 that he couldn't have used? In 20 min we are expected to believe Quincy got: A complete cardiovascular examination by a cardiologist: $195 Doppler Blood Pressure $58.30 (where do they get these numbers? Make them up?) Electrocardiography-7 leads $145 Echocardiography-Full $575 Radiographic Study $297.63 (where do they get these numbers?) Pimobendan $166.36 (for 30 days of meds!!!) Doxycycline $35.74 (for a cough he doesn't have) Total Charge: $1473.03 For 20 min in the back... no wonder they wouldn't let us go back there to see what was being done. They said it was because of covid. Isn't it fun when people use this excuse to rip you off??? They really are horrific people. I paid $500 extra to see the vet cardiologist at 6:00pm the next day (they said the extra $500 was for squeezing me in), and at 7:00pm he still wasn't there. I had paid the entire $1,415 in advance over the phone with a credit card, and I got an email confirming my appointment and some papers to fill out. I filled out all the forms and returned them promptly. When the cardiologist was an hour late, I kept calling Coast to Coast company to tell them the vet hadn't arrived, but they wouldn't answer. C2C rents space at our local emergency vet, and the staff there really wanted to help, but didn't have any contact info either. A friend found the vet's cell phone online, and I called him and he picked up! The cardiologist didn't know about the appointment. No one from Coast to Coast had told him! I told the cardio vet I had an email confirmation of the appointment at 6:00pm at that location, and had filled out all the paperwork. He said he'd be there by 8:00pm. He didn't show up. I called him again on his cell at 8:30pm, and the vet told me his company (Coast to Coast) told him not to show up. I was crying, my dog was struggling to breathe, we had exhausted all avenues at the emergency vet the night before, and I convinced the cardiologist to come that night. He made it just before 10:00pm -- 4 hours after my appointment time. The local vet staff were kind and let me wait for him in a room instead of my cold car. The vet himself was good, and made a treatment plan. But he didn't receive any of the paperwork with the medical history of my dog. Fortunately, I had printed out the paperwork from C2C and brought a copy with me. At the end of the visit, he said, "ok, the company will bill you directly." I told him I already paid the $915 for the visit and $500 extra to get in that day, total $1,415. He had no idea, and then said he understood why I was so upset. At some point during that long night, the staff at Coast to Coast found out the vet came to the appointment and called me. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, they yelled at me for calling the vet directly. They said I did not have a confirmed appointment and told me I was rude and unprofessional. How dare I go over their heads and call the vet on his cell. They demanded to know how I got his cell phone number. Coast to Coast wouldn't return my calls when I asked if the vet was going to show up, but as soon as they found out he did show up, THEN they called. They called me the next day again (I didn't pick up) -- NOT to apologize or check on my dog -- but to yell at me again into my voicemail -- while I was dealing with a dying beloved pet. Super rude, insensitive, and they continued to lie. They said they never told me I had an appointment, I had no right to call the vet directly, and shame on me. I saved that voicemail. I have the credit card records and a receipt that I paid in advance. And the email confirmation of the appointment time, date, and location (see photo). My sweep pup died 2 days later, likely because of the delay in his treatment plan. Please don't ever ever use this company. And any cardiologist vets reading this, please don't work for them! (I suspect the vet only got a small portion of the $1,415 I paid to Coast to Coast). read more

Coast to Coast cardiology was much more on top of patient care before Dr. Pello. whatever changes have happened in the last two years has not been for the better. When trying to call customer service sometimes they are helpful but most times they are not. They call in the wrong prescriptions. information is inputted incorrectly, after I've submitted patient forms. I feel like I pay a lot of money for two dogs and should receive better customer service. I've been given a pharmacy location to pick up medication only to get there and find out that it was a different pharmacy. They get a zero for communication. I wish there were another option for pet heart care. read more

My dog saw Dr Pelio in February. It has taken me a long time to write this review as I was giving them time to explain themselves and correct the mistakes made. But after multiple attempts to contact their manager and not receiving a call back, I am left with no other choice but to leave this review and proceed with contacting the veterinary medical boards. My dog was diagnosed with valve failures and several other issues by Dr Pelio. To not make this review too long, I won't go I to too much detail on the diagnoses, but he said she had a loud murmur and frequent vpc's. However, he didn't show us these tests in the office. They email them hours later once we are home. The EKG screenshot that they sent me have NO vpc's. It's perfectly normal. But he scared us into having her go home with a 24 hour Holter monitor. It took over 2 weeks and multiple calls to get results. The whole time we were left with the words of the doctor that our dog was at high risk of sudden death. Then we finally get the results and its basically normal. He recommends no medication at this time. A month later, we went for a second opinion with a different cardiologist and get a completely different diagnosis. Our dog is immediately put on medication. I wanted to speak with Dr Pelio or the manager to get them to explain how they got their diagnosis and their recommendations because it's like having reports from two different dogs. Nice enough people but poor poor follow up. We have waited 5 weeks for follow up info.. we were told we would be called within approx one week. We have called them back TWICE . Once was a woman named Ashley. She said I'll call you back before close of business today. Nope. Didn't happen. I cannot recommend this business. The medical service itself is excellent and pricing is very reasonable. The reason why it gets 3 stars is because they don't return calls. My cat has a chronic heart condition and I needed to change her medication. The doctor agreed but it has taken so far two weeks to just return my messages; I finally got a call from Whitney saying that she'd check with compounding pharmacies last Monday, four days ago, and I never heard from her again. I guess we are back to not returning phone calls. And this is a simple matter already approved by the doctor. It certainly seems like there is a communication problem going on here. read more

There's a new coast to coast cardiology that had open on the east coast, but sadly I have not seen any Yelp page for that location yet. I was referred from my normal vet to Coast to coast and even though they were heavily booked, they were able to book me in at a moments notice at another location they had worked at. They always call back on time or at a fairly reasonable time. Even when they made a mistake on prescription dosage, they call fairly quickly to correct their mistake and leave a very detailed message. It feels like they genuinely want to care for your pet at any means possible and always consider your situation at hand first before making any irrational choice. Ever since my visit, my dog has been a little more active and there's a good change in his mood. I hope to have more positive reviews after my future visits. read more

At first impression, I really liked the vet but....After spending $1300 to get my pup evaluated , I was completely ignored with unanswered questions. I do not know what the cause is of a serious issue and I do not know what further can be done to help him. I am frustrated and disappointed in the care of my dog. All I wanted was some questions answered. All I needed was a five minute call back, but NOTHING. So sad to me because this is such an important type of care needed in our community. read more
