I more or less could not use my left arm. I had feared I had a torn rotator cuff and thought I needed surgery, but I was wrong and that was not the case. I finally got an MRI and I found out I had a frozen shoulder and not a torn rotator cuff. My Florida Orthopedic Surgeon shoulder specialist in Florida recommended physical therapy but I was due to be in NC for the Christmas holidays. A friend in NC recommended Nestlerode and I had 3 sessions with Mic and one session with Emily, as Mic was out of town for the Christmas holiday. Mic helped me understand my problem and after the four sessions at Nestlerode, I am back to normal with a full range of motion of my arm and shoulder. PT is in my experience about half doing the exercises and half understanding the problem in the first place. Mic was a fantastic teacher. My Florida shoulder specialist has turned me loose and told me to let him know if I need any more help. I did not need any more PT in Florida. Courtney was the face of the organization on the phone and she was excellent in scheduling and answering questions. Dr. Travis was able to facilitate a thorough evaluation in my home which was extremely convenient! Additionally, he provided me with information to improve my body mechanics, posture and a personalized strengthening plan. I was also impressed with Dr. Travis' quick response to my inquiries and treatment needs. I mean, who wants to wait a long time to get help when they are in pain? This place has been hands down the worst medical facility I've ever experienced. They are a disorganized, rude mess, at least that was my experience. I lived an hour away and twice I showed for scheduled appointments that "Vanished". When they wouldn't lose my appointments, I would have to wait over an hour past my appointment time before being seen, Each time there would be no heads up from the staff to let you know about the pending wait. Their service was so bad, I felt compelled to come back here, literally years after the fact, just to make sure to share my experience and warn others.

However, the front desk staff leave much to be desired. I got a call in June 2026 telling me they were cancelling my June followup because the now don't take my Anthem Healthkeepers insurance. I was welcome to reschedule and pay out of pocket for the visit, which would be $197. Xrays and anything else would be extra. I have never been so confused about insurance policies and frustrated with a practice.
