Having hip pain, my wife was referred to Radiology and Imaging --- they wouldn't take our Military Tricare insurance. So having my own previous experience with the Institute of Precision Pain Management, we asked for a referral to them. After never answering their phone and having to contact them via email, it was going to be three months for an appointment. So we asked for a referral to Tricity Pain Associates. It was easy to get them on the phone, track the referral, and we were able to get an appointment with their PA within ten days. Once there the PA did a thorough exam and luckily Dr. Davis was there that day from San Antonio and was able to fit my wife in for her injection. Dr. Davis was professional and talked my wife through the process every step of the way. Okay, the receptionist and aides need an adult to teach them how to be upbeat and courteous, but such is life. They probably had bad parenting. The PA is great and so is the doctor. The most important aspect is how we were treated by the PA (PA John) and doctor (Dr. Davis), which was top notch. I will definitely use Tricity Pain Associates for my wife and for me with any future pain management needs.

I was diagnosed with a rare condition named "Chonic Regional Pain Syndrome". After I was diagnosed with this I lost hope of feeling better. Dr. Velázquez explained my condition very clear and gave me a few options to start with. I am grateful that I was referred to him, he has been my angel. The staff is very professional and treat you like family. Never waited more then 15 minutes to be seen by the doctor. On my procedure day I was very nervous and the doctor was with me from the beginning keeping me calm and even he was the one to put the IV on me for me to feel more comfortable and relax. My mom was allowed to stay there exactly two weeks, as I was told by one of your employees, that is when you ship them home well or not when the insurance runs out. My mother lived across the street and she was wheeled over there with the gown on her back and nothing else. She was deposited in the lobby and you walked out the door. My mother had to wear hand me downs until she moved in with me and I purchased her a new wardrobe while you did nothing sir. Nothing for her rehabilitation and not properly caring for her belongings. So do not tell me that you reviewed the case and found what exactly? I don't believe your priority is patient care, it is the bottom line. Please do not try to make my complaint trivial. Those things belonged to my mother and were important to her. She passed on mother's day, 2023 while she was in hospice and I was by her side . She was an amazing wife, mother and person. She did not deserve the treatment she was given at your facility. I'm sure other children of elderly parents would be interested in my evaluation of your facility. Dr. Mertz sets his patients at ease. He doesn't beat around the bush, answers all our questions with a thorough explanation, offers prevention advice, and has a very proficient practice. The paperwork that is shared with the patient is modern and easy to follow. The admin help visibly work off the options of the health insurance I am using. The low waiting times with the waiting room and exam room have been impressive versus what I read of elsewhere. The overall operation is set up to run efficiently, which is too rare in the healthcare industry. The waiting area is large, clean and well-kept. Luckily I found Family Practice Associates of Corpus Christi and was accepted as a new patient. That was about six months ago. Both my wife and I switched to Dr. Mertz. Dr. Mertz is fantastic. He doesn't beat around the bush, answers all our questions with a thorough explanation, and has a very proficient practice. Both my wife and I have seen Dr. Mertz several times since becoming his patients and every time we only spent five to ten minutes in the waiting room and only a couple minutes in the exam room before Dr. Mertz came in. I only wish I had found Dr. Mertz when I retired to Corpus Christi in 2005. My life would have been much better from a medical standpoint. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention his staff and the waiting area. His staff is wonderful in every regard. And the waiting area is large and clean.
