He was professional and calm which I always appreciate when learning new things because it can be stressful when you know your life is on the line ! You come in ten minutes before your lesson, sign a waiver, fly and if you have any payment left due you should pay at the end, we paid in full through the website. Then, just five hours before our scheduled flight, the company canceled our reservation because of a "last-minute private event." It's incredibly unprofessional to bump customers who booked well in advance for another booking. At that point, there was no realistic way to make other plans or book with another company. Vacations are short, and experiences like this are what families remember. Instead of making great memories, we were left with disappointed kids and a ruined part of our trip. I understand that unexpected situations can happen, but canceling on customers at the last minute for a private event shows a lack of respect for the people who planned ahead and trusted your business. I would not recommend booking with this company if you want to rely on them to honor your reservation.

I started flying here last year to earn my private pilot license. A few months ago, I was on a solo…read moreflight and had a hard landing that resulted in damage to the plane. It affected my confidence as a pilot and also I had a lot of (unnecessary) financial stress caused by the school and the owner Seth. If you are a new pilot seeking guidance and support, this is not the school to go to! In terms of their actual flight training, I can look back and realize that their instruction was very lackluster. Safety was not a top priority, rather it felt like everyone at the school was there to socialize. Now that I have experience at a new school, I can reflect on policies/procedures that were not implemented at JBA. One of the biggest things being that I didn't have an official personal weather minimums on paper. Frankly, I was a new pilot and didn't know how important this is for solo flights, but JBA instructors failed to teach me this. In fact, the morning before the flight where I had my hard landing, I had texted my instructor expressing concern about the weather/winds and was told I "would be fine". I was also taught to "salvage" my landings when I bounced, and there wasn't a strong emphasis on go arounds. This nonchalant attitude was pretty standard at JBA, which is dangerous when operating an aircraft (especially a student). Additionally, the financial turmoil that JBA and specifically the owner of the school, Seth, caused me was one of the worst parts of this experience. I had the insurance that the school REQUIRED me to have, so I thought that everything would be okay with the school when I had to use said insurance. I was very wrong because Seth came after me personally and sent me a bill for $81,000. He kept calling/texting my personal number even though I made it clear that I wanted everything to be handled with the agent assigned to my case through email. He also kept approaching me at the gym where I regularly go to (and he occasionally goes to) and tried to talk to me about personal matters in a very public setting. Seth's unethical handling of the aircraft damage claim and questionable billing was very disappointing. My conclusion for JBA is that its flight program is severely inadequate and does not promote safety. My experience is proof of that, and Seth's conduct and attitude further confirm my exceedingly low opinion of his operation.

I made my appointment after about a 20-30 minute conversation about the weather and dates we would be in Savannah. I made the pilot aware that this would be a surprise for my husband as we are celebrating a special time of reconciliation in our lives. Well, we arrived, as suggested, 30 minutes early. He was so excited and of course so was I!! Well, after waiting for two hours and calling the business twenty times or more and sending emails-we left. Never even saw a helicopter. The owner finally called me back very late in the day to offer his apologies. Nothing can repair or change that awful experience.
