We arrived at the venue and got signed in, completed our waivers, a couple people had not watched the video at home so they had to do it here. Then we picked out a couple fun helmets, met our guide Gregg who gave each one of us a personalized lesson in mounting, dismounting, forward, reverse, and turning, before allowing us s few minutes practice before we started our tour. I have to say, I started the day thinking I'd be falling off and ended thinking I want to own one of these things. Our guide spent the first half of the tour teaching us the history of the city, and the second half entertaining us on the tour. This was hands down my favorite part of my weekend in Savannah and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

He really wanted us to get the chance to see a few things before they closed, and since we were all willing we took a few detours here and there. We even passed people on the route who yelled out to him, he clearly has a great reputation with the locals as well. If I did nothing else while visiting I could walk away confident that I learned more during these three hours than I would have going to see things on my own or on a different tour.

Savannah Carriage Tours was incredibly frustrating and left me feeling taken advantage of. While…read morevisiting the area, I parked near their operation in what appeared to be a normal, public spot. There was zero clear signage indicating that parking was prohibited or that vehicles would be towed. No warning signs, no visible notices--nothing that would reasonably alert a driver. Within a very short time, my car was gone. I later learned it had been towed, conveniently and quickly, by a towing company that seems to patrol this area aggressively. The whole situation felt like a setup designed to trap unsuspecting visitors. It's hard not to believe there is some level of coordination when towing happens so fast in an area with no posted restrictions. The towing fees were outrageous, and the process to retrieve my car added insult to injury. What should have been a pleasant Savannah experience turned into a costly and stressful ordeal. Tourists beware: if you're anywhere near Savannah Carriage Tours, be extremely cautious about where you park--even if it looks legitimate. This experience seriously soured my visit, and I would not recommend supporting a business operating in an area where situations like this are allowed to happen.

It's incredibly unprofessional to bump customers who booked well in advance for another booking. At that point, there was no realistic way to make other plans or book with another company. Vacations are short, and experiences like this are what families remember. Instead of making great memories, we were left with disappointed kids and a ruined part of our trip. I understand that unexpected situations can happen, but canceling on customers at the last minute for a private event shows a lack of respect for the people who planned ahead and trusted your business. I would not recommend booking with this company if you want to rely on them to honor your reservation.
