I really love this place - it's my go-to. All I do is leave the bag with my doorman and they pick up my dry cleaning and return it within a couple of days. I called them once to let them know how I prefer my clothes. Once they forgot to remove the armpit odor - I called them once and they have taken care of this every time since. They didn't charge me extra to re-do the pieces I was dissatisfied with. They do a great job for a great price. This area is a thriving concentration of 12-15 new high rises and apt bldgs (prolly a ton of new business) -- but today the pickup guy said he'd take my dry cleaning today, but after this order, I would have to seek out another business, stating they only service downtown proper. He was super nice and said he would process my order, "this one time" but why was I able to book them for pickup? If they weren't interested in coming here. The icing on the cake was when the order said it would be delivered on Friday, they delivered on Wednesday, and called me. I said I wasn't there, and he said the app is only "an estimate" and "that's why we ONLY deliver to buildings with doormen." I mean WTF - do not use this place, rude comments are not nice. I sent them a wool knit sweater to clean it came back shrunk to the point that I could not even get my arms in it. When I returned it to them to examine the damage, their response was that the sweater was stained so they washed it. Who washes a wool knit sweater?? Then they told me that it was so stained that it was not wearable anyway which is completely not true. Most importantly, they were not apologetic at all--just kept trying to deflect blame. Since I had a couple of scarves and heavy coats, it would have been such a hassle to have to carry them into a storefront. So the fact that Coastal Cleaners picks up and delivers was such a godsend. I scheduled for a Thursday before a holiday weekend and didn't have a garment bag large enough since I had just moved in. I gave them a call to see how to handle this. They delivered a garment bag the next day, which was awesome. I left the clothes with my doorman and at the beginning of the next week, the clothes were done and delivered back to me. We moved from 65 Bay St. to a new building within 1 mile. At that time there were numerous choices for dry cleaning services available, Costal Cleaners not being one of them. We tried a few of these providers and were dissatisfied. We requested a new bag from CC which was promptly delivered and we were back to using our favorite dry cleaning service! A few things I want to emphasize that make CC stand out is how reliable, prompt and professional they are. We were extremely backed up while deciding on a dry cleaning service and when we got that first bag at the new apartment, it was right around a holiday. We gave the owner a call and he assured us he'd get all the suits and shirts back to us by that next morning -- my boyfriend needing one of his suits for a conference that morning. And we did! I entrusted Coastal Cleaners to clean my wedding gown. It costs $225 for my lace gown with a huge train. It took approximately 2 weeks to clean. My gown had some stains on it which did not completely come off when I first got it back. I brought this up to them and Frank graciously cleaned it again free of charge. Just moved into 65 Bay last month and was really happy to see a dry cleaning service right in our building! Can't beat that convenience! Our concierge gave us a bag to put our clothing to be dry cleaned in this morning and when I left it with him I mentioned I needed it by Saturday. When I got to the office, I set up my account (so easy through the app!) and received a call a little later from them. I realized I mistook the pick-up time for when I'd be picking up the dry cleaning, not when they would. Anyway, after the guy who called explained that to me, I explained how I needed the clothes by early Monday morning since I'd be flying for business. He told me they weren't going to be in the office this weekend and he'd try to have the clothes done by today. And they were done today! Haven't checked them yet, but I'm really happy they went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule. Not only that, but I appreciate they listened to my doorman and didn't pay attention to the incorrect info I sent in, otherwise I wouldn't have had my clothes until after my trip.
