Additionally, she makes you FEEL like you are the only bride she is working with, which makes you feel at peace, prioritized, and cared for throughout chaotic wedding planning! Katy doesn't miss a step during timeline creation, last minute changes, or day of the event. In fact, during the day of my wedding, I sent most of my family out of the "hiding room" and felt comfortable when she was in the room because she was alongside me during the wedding planning process and made me feel a sense of ease. THAT is the type of wedding planner you want, especially if the whole "planning process" isn't your thing (like me ;)). Lastly, Katy handled vendor communication incredibly well. From reaching out, to follow ups, to ensuring all vendors were on the same page (especially if they did not respond) which took a layer off of my responsibilities. They pay to remove Google reviews and threaten to sue if you're wondering why they have such a high rating. Coastal Coordinating was the only stressful part of my wedding. I opted in for the Day of Coordinator because I had already selected all of my other vendors. I also paid extra to have Coastal Coordinating put out my florals that I created. Chloe was MIA minutes before the ceremony - the venue had to stick me in a random room to avoid being seen by the groom. Chloe or one of her helpers broke one of my pillars (decor) and proceeded to put it in the ceremony instead of informing me or leaving it out - it looked so awful. Half the florals I had arranged for the reception weren't put out despite paying extra for this service - my bridesmaids and I were the ones having to put them out while guests were lining up to enter the space. The owner is VERY unprofessional and never bothered trying to have a conversation with me about my experience. Instead she made up lies as an excuse for providing such poor service. I recently used coastal coordinating for my wedding on March 1st. I had Melanie as my day of coordinator and Lea as well to assist. I truly cannot thank both these girls enough for bringing my wedding vision to life! Melanie is so sweet and organized and had amazing communication the entire time. She was up for anything and I trusted her completely that I was able to just relax and enjoy my wedding without stress. So this review is long overdue, which is no indicator of how great Katy and her crew were. I was an out of state bride. NY/NJ for my wedding in FL. And let me tell you, that can be hella stressful. For our January wedding in St. Augustine, we worked with Coastal Coordinating for the "Day of Coordinating". Leading up to our event, Katy Hurtig, the owner, was our go-to gal. Katy is a genuine soul and it shows that she really loves her work. She assisted in recommending many of the St. Augustine vendors which we selected and she was always prompt with her communication via e-mail, text, and phone calls. We met with her in person to work on developing the timeline of our wedding and the final walk through of the venue with her and our caterer. One of the areas we were most concerned about was the changing of the courtyard from the ceremony to dance floor/high-tops for the reception, which is known as the "Flip". Katy presented several options and eased our mind that no matter what we decided it would be executed smoothly. Our specific day of coordinators were Ashley and Christine who were FANTASTIC. The evening prior to the wedding they led the dress rehearsal and they did a walk-through of the location/decor to plan for the big-day. They were on top of everything: decorations, organizing, keeping to the timeline, and handling issues with ease. I started the wedding day slightly tense about how the day would go. Within no time Ashley and Christine were hard at work in making making magic to ensure everything came together. When we walked down after getting ready, we were blown away by how they brought all our planning to life. Throughout the event they kept the night on pace and were available at a moments notice. The "Flip" was executed quickly for us to take family portraits and then set up the reception. They helped with everything from helping with my insane bustle (17 hooks was way too many!) to handling the power being tripped at the venue twice. I must admit due to their hard work our wedding was absolutely gorgeous and stress free! Aside from marrying my now husband, Coastal Coordinating was without a doubt the best decision I have made during the wedding planning process. I first spoke with the team over a year ago (August 2019) and it was a long journey ever since then. As an out of state couple, we knew we needed some help. We spoke with a few different companies but immediately knew when talking with Coastal Coordinating that we would be dealing with professionals who really had our best interest in mind. We ultimately opted for the advisory package and were thrilled to know that Katy had our date available. She truly helped us execute the most perfect day ever, which says a lot considering how many changes were thrown at all of us along the way. We were originally due to marry back in June and of course... COVID! Katy was amazing at keeping us calm but also at keeping us posted on all the latest information of what was happening in Florida. She didn't hesitate at all to help us re-plan everything for a new date in Florida when we decided to postpone! Much to our dismay, we ended up having to cancel our wedding in Florida because of travel restrictions. I'm sure most wedding coordinating companies would wish us well, but Katy took that a step further. Not only did she help us cancel everything but she offered to support us in replanning a wedding back home in CT. She even jumped through hoops to make sure she could be in CT with us on the actual wedding day to ensure our day went flawlessly. I cannot thank her enough, and people are still telling us how absolutely amazing she was on the day of (which I couldn't agree more!!) We hired Katy based on previous reviews from multiple different sites, needless to say they were accurate! She did an amazing job. Despite all the challenges with COVID and potential changes day to day given the restrictions that were in place as we had a pandemic wedding. Katy worked through all of it. We even had a last minute venue change and Katy was quick to assist in changing over all of the companies we worked with and recommended great companies. On the day of the wedding everything went seamlessly - she not only drove out to my house 2 different times the day to help carry things to the wedding and verify everything was going smoothly but she was also in contact with my now husband and was up in his suite helping the guys get ready. We got multiple compliments from multiple different people about what an amazing job she did and how she maneuvered everyone but was very polite while doing it. I'm re-writing my review since the owner reported it and it got taken down. I used this company for my wedding in 2018, and it was a train wreck. My planner was Brooklyn. She was 30 minutes late to my rehearsal, and by the time she got there it was basically dark. Claimed she got into a car accident. Okay fine, only she was an hour and a half late to show up on the day of the wedding. I have other venders who have sent me letters as proof if you need them, let me know. Thanks to her showing up late, we didn't know that my photographer didn't show up. So long story short my photographer never showed, no its not her fault but still she wasn't there to handle it. She did get another photographer to show up at 6pm. I told her I didn't want to wait until 6 so lets have everything going according to the timeline. Well, she didn't listen at the wedding started at 6. My guests were sitting around waiting for 2 hours while I was in a room alone not knowing what was going on. The photographer showed up late. My pictures turned out horrible given it was dark. My aunt asked her where the aisle runner was, and Brooklyn didn't know what an aisle runner was. After the wedding I tipped her because I'm a nice person, and she tried to take a bottle of liquor without asking. My grandmother had to stop her. I assume she thought this was okay because I gave the DJ a bottle of jack as his tip. Then when I wrote the owner (Katy I believe?) to tell her about this she threatened to sue me if I didn't take my reviews down. She some how had a fake number from Morgan & Morgan call me, but when I called back they had no idea what I was talking about. This woman also called my job and asked when I would be working so a certified letter would be delivered from her lawyer. Well, it never showed up. I would never reccomend this company. They delete and report the bad reviews off of weddingwire, the knott, ect. read more

We were reluctant to hire a coordinator at first but friends told us they were helpful so we hired Katy for day of coordinating to help ease some stress. She was absolutely lovely at our meeting and extremely organized. Helpful is an absolute understatement for what Katy provided and I am unsure how anyone has a wedding without her by there side! She was an absolute dream to work with! She assisted with finding affordable vendors, she was always available to answer questions, and she was consistently in contact with my other vendors as well. Her timeline was spot on. Our wedding was absolute perfection and not a single thing went wrong. I felt like a guest at my wedding and I have Katy to thank for that. We dropped our decor at her hour 1 week before the wedding and everything was placed perfectly down to the sneakers being under the sweat heart table for when i wanted to change. She packed up all our decor and allowed us to pick it up at her house after we got back from our honey moon. All of our belongings that were tossed around the venue were placed in bags along with our gifts. The sparkler send off was perfect. Everything follow her timely seamlessly. Katy, Ashley, and Christine were the best Wedding Day Of Coordinators we could have asked for. They executed the set up of our Ceremony, the flip for the Reception, and all other little details extremely well with very little direction from us. I was prepared to be a nervous wreck on my big day, but because of their efficiency, we were able to have as much fun as possible celebrating with our friends and family. For a few months leading up to the big day, we communicated with Katy several times, especially to ask for local recommendations. We live a couple of hours away from St. Augustine and therefore unfamiliar with the vendors in that area. She did not lead us astray, and we had the best group of vendors. Even though she was not able to be there for our wedding, she dropped by to make sure that we were comfortable with Ashley and Christine, and that they were up to speed with the details of the day. I was especially impressed by the hustle and quick-thinking of Ashley and Christine when the power in our venue went out a couple of times during our Reception. We're so disappointed with the wedding coordination service we received on my daughters wedding day. The owner who worked with us from day 1 (we planned months in advance) called us the night before stating she wasn't able to make the wedding. We hoped that her team was prepared to pick up where she left off with all the wedding details. That wasn't the case. Unorganized, they showed up late on the wedding day, and nothing followed the timeline. As a result, we lost one hour with the photographer capturing precious moments. To top it all off, the father of the bride was placed on the wrong side of the bride when walking down the aisle. The bride and groom were devastated. Horribly disappointed, brides beware! read more
