As I was leaving and they were appartently have their afteroon pow wow, I leaned in and said the recovery period is six months. That's one of descriptors Dr. Kim should have shared. I'm going to the Houston Eye Associates who know that low-dose atrophine can be prescribed for eye floater. No one at Retina & Vireous Center had a clue. I've never had so many tests run on me without any explanation of what each test was for. I have a suspicion they were running up the bill. There ran duplicate tests - one with dilation medicine and another with a contraption that checks your eye and dilation is not needed. The last test was invasive as the dictor kept ckecking all around the eye just like previous tests had done. Again, he never explained what he was doing or why he was doing. That is totally unprofessional.

I gave Dr. Ullman's office a try (it's currently Broadway Vision, I believe) and was really happy! He listened as I described that my old prescription for one of my eyes wasn't working very well and that my contacts seemed scratchy in my eyes, and I could tell he focused on trying to help me with those issues. I didn't feel rushed through my exam at all, as I've had with other eye doctors (you know, when they're flipping those lenses back and forth as fast as they can go and you barely have time to register which one looks better?). The selection of frames isn't huge, but it's surely worth checking through! One of the women working there was wonderful in checking color/fit options in the frames I liked. At first my main plan was just to get my current frames updated with new lenses, and to check to see if I might like any other frames. I did find some and then hee-hawed around, trying to decide whether to get them, come back later, or not get them at all. I LOVED and VERY much appreciated that I didn't feel pressured even a little tiny bit to get the new ones. Which I eventually did. :) Oh--and their exam prices were the best I could find after 5 calls around!

She said we don't sell the lenses. (I have PPO insurance) and wanted a comprehensive exam plus a new Rx for eyeglasses. Before the MD would see me, they had me sign a paper saying I would pay $59 in order for the MD to refract my eyes for new Rx as it was not covered under the "medical" AND they refused to bill my vision insurance coverage for it. A "technician" came in before the MD to "check" my eyes and, actually, already had the "new" Rx ready for the MD when he came in. After I left I ordered two different pairs of glasses (from 2 different places) 1. progressives, & 2. Rx transitional sunglasses. I could not see good out of either one of them so I went elsewhere to get ANOTHER eye exam (I didn't have two weeks to wait for an appointment again!) The Rx was TOTALLY different! The new Therapeutic Optomotrist said he check my Rx three times and it was the same every time! I had to return to both places I ordered eyeglasses from and get them re-made under the new Rx! I will never go back there and I'm still working on a refund of my $59 that was paid w/ cc on Jul 18,2024. They are now telling me it is "pending" until they get their insurance $. I told them it had nothing to do with insurance and that I had paid MD extra to get HIM to refract my eyes. I finally had to call the credit card company for dispute. Needless to say, I cancelled my "follow up" appointment scheduled for January.

Honestly, I always forget to review "mundane" things like eye appointments. However, it's…read moreimperative to share what an amazing office this is, staff, doctor, assistants and more. I've moved a considerable mileage away and still remain at this office and take days off work to make the trip down because I'm convinced I will not find better eye care than I have here. Dr. Correa is an Ophthalmologist, meaning he not only covers optometry but the overall medical health of your eyes and IT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I can't say enough great things about this practice. From start to finish, they've got it figured out!
