My son absolutely loves picking up boiled crawfish & shrimp to go! He enjoys the spicy juice with corn, potatoes and mushrooms too!

Extremely nice people. Crawfish had no taste. Extremely salty. Very small and hard to peel. Was first and last time there. Wish them luck.

Emmy's is wonderful! Great staff, delicious ice creams, toppings and best of all -- they make their…read moreown waffle cones! Yes, you heard it right, they make their own waffle cones daily. Fresh. They will even grab you a fresh baked one out the back upon request. I stumbled on this hidden gem one day after a my last craving for a waffle cone was unfulfilled at a franchise frozen yogurt spot. I won't name any names, but I hadn't been to the unnamed commercial spot in over 20 years. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. The waffle cone was stale and had a tinge of plastic taste. I literally thought I'd been poisoned. After looking up ice cream spots with good reviews, my daughter and I found Emmy's. It was not a disappointment at all. The ice cream flavors were limited but very premium. Although they don't make their own ice cream in-house, they get it from the best place I can think of ordering ice cream from - Wisconsin. They have a ton of really premium toppings for a great price too. Most are just $.50, with some of the nut toppings costing a dollar. My daughter tried their orange sorbet with gummy bears and the swear, they were the best gummy bears I've ever tried. I went straight for my go-to, pistachio almond. When I tell you it's stood up to some of the best Italian creamery pistachio I've had in my home town of New Orleans, I'm not exaggerating. Creamy, rich ice cream with an abundance of pistachio. All I needed was one scoop. So amazing and flavorful. Being skeptical after my last botched experience getting a waffle cone at a major franchise dessert spot, I decided to get my ice cream in their signature waffle cone. Oh. My. Goodness. It's like a confection by itself. Delicately buttery, perfectly sweet and super crispy. I hear they even make waffle cone nachos?! Aside from having great dessert, the staff is friendly and they have a nice little sitting area, complete with a soda-shop type bar to sit. It's not a question of if I'll be back, but if I'll be able to pass it up when I'm in the vicinity. Delicious!

Who Put My Catfish in Witness Protection?…read more This place used to be one of my favorite spots in Broussard. Great atmosphere, great service, and my family ate here so often they should have considered putting our name on a booth. Unfortunately, the menu changes have turned this into a completely different experience. Let's start with the catfish. Somewhere between the old menu and the new one, the catfish fillets entered witness protection. What arrived on my plate looked less like catfish and more like a collection of heavily breaded suggestions of catfish. I've seen french fries wider than these strips. If there was actual fish inside, it was hiding better than Bigfoot. The spicy shrimp wrap also appears to have retired from the spice business. It now contains enough pepper jelly to qualify as a dessert, and so much of it that the wrap becomes a soggy engineering failure halfway through eating it. Then there are the onion rings. Calling them onion rings feels generous. They looked like someone lost a ring toss tournament and served the equipment. The frustrating part is that I genuinely loved this place. I live nearby and used to come here regularly. I even tried reaching out through the website before posting this review and never received a response. I hate leaving negative reviews, but somebody needs to stage an intervention for that catfish. This is Acadiana. We have standards. And right now, that catfish is filing a formal complaint against whoever approved it.

We just wanted a late night spot for greasy food and chill vibes but unfortunately the service at…read morethis location was less than desirable. It took the waitress five minutes just to get to our table and another ten minutes to place the order. When the food did arrive, she initially forgot to give us utensils and by the end of the meal, wasted no time in handing us the check without bothering to ask us if we wanted anything else. At first I thought she was just having an off day, but when her friends came in, she made sure to immediately place an order for them. It also should be noted that the seats are low and uncomfortable so I don't recommend dining here if you are wheelchair-bound. All that said, the food at Fat Pat's was exceptional --from the well-seasoned crispy onion rings to the homemade queso dip. I also really loved the loaded nachos as it was laced with savory hamburger meat and not the grainy taco meat that usually ruins a proper nacho dish. The fried pickles and boneless wings were also well-done and exactly what you would expect from a greasy spoon. I was expecting more of a restaurant and less of a bar but this particular location is essentially a bar that serves decent food. 5/10 decent quality food but I probably wouldn't return!
